After turning off the water and putting on a bathrobe, Hansel swiftly twisted the doorknob just as the shadow was about to press against the door. When he pulled it open, he bumped straight into Ingrid.

“Who let you in here?” His eyes blazed with fury. “I told you this room was off–limits. Can’t you understand that? How dare you come in here?”

The coldness emanating from him made her shiver. “I came to bring you a hangover remedy.”

“Do you think I don’t know what you’re up to?” Hansel smirked.

He spat harshly, “Do you think you’re special just because we slept together a few times? I’ve seen

countless women like you.

“With a mere gesture, I could have a dozen more like you crawling at my feet. What makes you any different?

“Even if you stood naked in front of me, I wouldn’t give you a second glance.” He looked down at her with contempt. “Do you know why?”

Ingrid trembled, covering her ears and shaking her head frantically. “No… I don’t want to hear it. Please stop.

“Can’t handle the truth? Then, don’t bother me. I find you disgusting. Get out!”

Ingrid ran out of the room in tears. Then, he flipped over the tray she had brought.

That night, Ingrid stayed awake until dawn. Her pillow was soaked with tears. Hansel’s heartless and cruel demeanor haunted her mind.

Why? She had his child. Shouldn’t he treat her better? Or was he still fixated on Miranda and hoped to reconcile with her?

With that thought, Ingrid could no longer stay in bed. She jumped up and kicked over the bedside table in frustration.

Early in the morning, Martha had just finished tidying up the master bedroom. She was disgusted by the mess left on the floor.

Then, she heard a loud noise from the adjacent room. She thought, “What on earth is going on? This family is driving me crazy.

“Do they think workers don’t have any value? They should be the ones doing the dirty work.”

But then she remembered the decent salary from the Johnsons and managed to calm down. She headed to the adjacent bedroom door and listened carefully for any sounds.

“Ms. York? Are you awake? Mrs. Johnson called and asked me to remind you to have breakfast, Ms. York?

There was no response, which puzzled Martha. She had heard noises earlier, but why was it suddenly so quiet? Was Ingrid planning something?

Just as Martha was about to leave, the door opened, and Ingrid’s weak voice came through, “Martha, my

stomach hurts.”

Ingrid looked pale, clutching her stomach with cold sweat on her forehead. Martha panicked and took out

her phone.

“What’s the number for the driver again?” She slapped her forehead. “Oh no! The driver is on leave today. I’ll call 911 now. Ms. York, hang in there.”

Ingrid was both angry and anxious. “How long will it take for the ambulance to arrive? My stomach hurts badly. Is something wrong?”

Martha didn’t know since she had never called an ambulance before.

At that moment, another maid noticed the situation and immediately turned to get her phone. “I’ll call Mrs. Johnson now.”Belonging to NôvelDrama.Org.

The entire house sprang into action.

Half an hour later, the ambulance arrived. Ing

When Evelyn received the news, she rushed to the hospital,

“Where is my grandson? Is he okay? Is there any problem?” She searched for a while before finding Ingrid and the doctor in the emergency room.

The doctor said, “Are you a relative of the patient? We’ve done an examination, and there’s no major problem. Her emotions have been quite unstable, which can lead to false contractions. She needs to stay calm and keep her stress levels down.”
