Chapter 999: What If Not?
Zane lifted his hand and embraced Yanis, asking, "Do you want some water?"
Yanis shook her head, "No, I'm fine."
It would take some time to travel from the hotel to the airport, and Yanis had been enduring discomfort NôvelDrama.Org content.
all along the way.
As soon as they arrived at the airport, Yanis rushed to the restroom.
The turbulent feeling inside her stomach almost drove her crazy.
In the end, she couldn't hold back and vomited violently.
Zane couldn't enter the restroom, so he found an airport staff member to check on Yanis.
"Are you okay? Do you need me to call an ambulance?" The staff member looked concerned when she
saw Yanis' pale face.
Yanis rinsed her mouth and waved her hand at the staff member, "No need, I'll be fine after a rest."
"Your husband is waiting outside; he can't come in," the staff member informed her.
Yanis glanced towards the door and then stood up straight, washing her face before heading towards
the exit.
However, due to the intense vomiting earlier, she felt somewhat light-headed and unsteady on her feet.
Seeing Yanis struggling to walk, the staff member rushed forward to support her.
Zane stood at the restroom entrance, and when he saw Yanis coming out, he quickly went up to her,
asking, "How are you feeling?"
Shaking her head at Zane, Yanis whispered, "I'm better now."
Concerned, Zane suggested, "Why don't we go back later?"
"I'm okay now, it's getting better," Yanis insisted, and Zane didn't press further.
Perhaps it was because she had vomited, but Yanis did feel somewhat better now.
Once on the plane, Yanis rested her head on Zane's shoulder and closed her eyes.
She slept all the way from Burumal to Manches City.
When they landed, Zane woke Yanis up.
Still a bit dazed from sleep, Yanis was half carried out of the plane by Zane.
Albi wasn't available, so Jeffrey came to pick them up.
"Mr. Lawrence, shall I take you to D-king Castle?" Jeffrey asked as they got into the car.
Zane hesitated for a moment before saying, "Take us to the Lawrence's Mansion."
They had returned suddenly, and there hadn't been time to notify Auntie to come over. So, they had to
go to the Lawrence's Mansion first, where Sophia would be there to take care of Yanis.
On their way back to the Lawrence's Mansion, Zane made a call.
Soon, the car stopped at the entrance of the Lawrence's Mansion.
Zane carried Yanis out of the car directly.
Sophia came out in advance, asking, "Mrs. Lawrence, what happened?"
"A bit unwell, Sophia, please make some light porridge for her," Zane instructed as he carried Yanis
inside.
Sophia nodded, "Alright."
Zane took Yanis upstairs and placed her on the bed. He reached out to check her temperature, relieved
to find that she wasn't running a fever. He called out softly, "Yanis?"
Upon hearing Zane's voice, Yanis responded with a soft "Mmm."
"Shall we go to the hospital?" Zane had originally wanted to take Yanis to the hospital when they got off
the plane, but Yanis didn't want to, so they had come back first.
Yanis shook her head weakly, mumbling, "I just want to rest for a bit."
Zane pulled the covers over her and said, "I asked Sophia to make porridge for you. You can have
some later."
Yanis nodded and then closed her eyes again.
Zane sat by the bed for a while until he was sure Yanis had fallen asleep before he went downstairs.
When Zane came down, both the Old Mrs. Lawrence and the Old Mr. Lawrence were in the living room.
Seeing Zane, the Old Mrs. Lawrence looked worried and asked, "How is Yanis? Should we take her to
the hospital for a check-up?"
Zane walked into the living room and said, "She fell asleep. We'll see if she feels better later, and if not,
we'll take her to the hospital."
The Old Mrs. Lawrence looked towards the direction of the second floor and suddenly thought of
something. She looked at Zane and asked, "Has Yanis had her period this month?"
Zane glanced at the Old Mrs. Lawrence. Yanis had her period about three days ago, but in the past few
days, he hadn't seen her take any precautions or mention that she had her period.
They even did it a couple of days ago.
With that in mind, Zane suddenly stood up and said, "I'll go check."
After speaking, he hurried upstairs.
Seeing Zane's anxiousness as he went upstairs, the Old Mrs. Lawrence couldn't help but feel hopeful.
When Zane went upstairs, he saw Yanis sleeping soundly, and he hesitated to wake her up.
However, the Old Mrs. Lawrence's words echoed in his mind, and he had to wake Yanis up.
Yanis responded to his gentle calls, opening her eyes and looking into Zane's gaze.
"Have you had your period this month?" Zane asked softly.
Upon hearing Zane's question, Yanis looked into his eyes, shook her head gently, and said, "No."
Zane calculated the time; it seemed like it had been three or four days.
Knowing that Zane also wanted a child, Yanis couldn't help but hold a glimmer of hope. She sat up,
"Why don't we buy something to test?"
Before this, Yanis hadn't experienced any delayed menstruation, so she was feeling a faint sense of
anticipation.
Zane met Yanis' gaze, softly agreeing, "I'll go buy one."
Yanis watched as Zane left in a hurry, but she couldn't stop herself from calling out to him, "Zane."
Zane stopped in his tracks and turned back to face Yanis, "What's wrong?"
Yanis looked at him and hesitated for a moment before whispering, "What if it's negative?"
Hearing Yanis' question, Zane came back to sit on the edge of the bed, looking at her and gently
saying, "Let's take it easy and see what happens."
Upon hearing Yanis' words, Zane quickly returned to the bedside and sat down, looking at Yanis and
softly said, "Let it be, let nature take its course."
Yanis wanted to say something in response, but the words got stuck in her throat.
Now, not only Zane, but even the Old Mrs. Lawrence, they all want to see them have a child. Even she
herself had been longing for it recently.
"You go buy it," Yanis said softly after a moment of silence.
Zane rubbed Yanis' head gently, "Rest for a while, I'll be back soon."
Yanis nodded and watched Zane leave. She lay back down on the bed.
As she lay down, the phone on the bedside table rang.
Yanis sat up again, reached for the phone, and saw it was a call from "Mr. Hawkins."
"Hello, Mr. Hawkins," Yanis answered the call.
"Have you returned to Manches City?" Brandon asked.
"Yes, we're back," Yanis replied.
After a brief pause, Brandon continued, "I may be delayed for two days due to some matters on my
end, so I need you to handle things with Sandy. Also... there's something not quite right with Stella."
Upon hearing Brandon's words, Yanis was taken aback, "What's wrong with Stella?"
