From Contract To All My Life: I Own You

Chapter 39 Unexpected Warmth

Chapter 39 Unexpected Warmth

Perhaps they hadn't had a good rest for the past few days. At this moment, Joy and Amy were sleeping

soundly in the same bed, and the noisy howls outside didn't wake the two up.

Joy put her arms around Amy's waist and put one of her legs on Amy's. Feeling the pressure from her

body, Amy frowned and pulled down the leg on her body without opening her eyes.

However, as soon as s Amy pulled it down, the leg was put on again. Amy continued to pull, and Joy

continued to put it on. Amy had no choice but to stop. Amy opened her eyes and thought for a long

time. She couldn't resist the sleepiness before she fell asleep.

Joy slept in a comfortable position. She smacked her lips with a smile, as if she had a beautiful dream.

In her dream, she also smiled.

Nearly at night, the two of them still didn't wake up until a joyful ringtone pulled Amy out of her dream.

A high pitched song rang in the quiet tent. Startled, Amy suddenly opened her eyes. She touched her

pocket, only to find that the ringtone was not from her mobile phone.

Amy turned to look at Joy, who was still sleeping. Amy admired Joy so much that Joy couldn't wake up

with such a loud bell. No wonder Joy was always late for work. It seemed that no one could wake Joy

up.

"Joy. Joy, your phone rang up."

Amy nudged Joy to get up and answer the phone.

Joy remained unmoved, so Amy had to pull Joy up from the bed.

With a groan, Joy finally opened her eyes. Looking at the confusion in Joy's eyes, Amy guessed that

Joy was still half asleep. Sure enough, it didn't last long. Joy fell down to the bed and slept again

Amy shook her head helplessly, lifted her leg and passed Joy. She took the phone on the bedside

table, looked at the word "brother" on the screen and told Joy, "It's your brother."

As soon as Amy finished her words, Joy jumped up from the bed and took the phone. But as soon as

she picked it up, the man over the phone had already hung up.

Seeing the screen darken, Joy hesitated whether to call Sean back.

She didn't tell Sean and her father that she had come to the G City. After all an earthquake happened

in the G City and there would be in danger at any time. She didn't want them to worry about her, so she

didn't say goodbye to them.

'Now they probably knew about it. The report I and Amy sent back should have been published.

Now that I called Sean, he was most likely here to give me a lecture. But I had to tell them about it

sooner or later. Since they knew it, I'd better make it clear to them now, in case they would worry about

me.'

Thinking of this, Joy dialed Sean's number.

The phone was soon connected.

Before Joy could react, she was scolded by Sean.

"Joy, you've gone too far this time. Why didn't you tell Dad and me when you went to such a dangerous

place? Do you know how worried Dad and I were when we saw the report?"

Being scolded by him, Joy didn't get angry. Instead, she was very excited when she heard what he

said.

"Sean, do you mean Dad... Is Dad worried about me?"

Sean snorted in an unfriendly tone. Obviously, he was still angry.

Without getting any reply, Joy was a little anxious. She pleaded in a soft and sweet voice, "Sean,

please tell me. I'll bring you a gift when I go back, okay?"

Amy cast a scornful glance at Joy and left the tent. She couldn't stand Joy's sweet voice any more. She

had goose bumps all over her body.

Joy understood what Amy meant and made a face secretly behind Amy.

Hearing her voice, Sean trembled all over. He curled his lips and said with a little disgust, "Joy, can you

not make me feel sick? I have goose bumps all over my body."

Being despised by him, Joy sighed with disappointment. This was the first time she acted like a spoiled

child. He didn't give her face at all.

Joy pinched her Adam's apple and said, "Well." She cleared her throat and adjusted her injured heart.

Then she became serious and said, "Okay, stop it. You haven't answered my question yet!"

Sean said with a smile, "You're really good at pretending."

Before Joy lost her temper, Sean quickly answered her question, "Although dad didn't say it, his worry

for you is written on his face." He smiled and continued, "Joy, it seems that your efforts on dad are not

in vain. I believe that it won't be long before he can completely open his heart to accept you.

Hearing this, Joy was so happy that she almost cried. She raised her hand and covered her mouth

tightly, afraid that the cry would come out uncontrollably.

"Joy, are you crying?"

It seemed that Sean heard a suppressed cry on the phone. He asked with uncertainty and

cautiousness.

After taking a few deep breaths, Joy sniffed and pretended to be fine. "No, I'm not crying. I'm so happy.

How can I cry?" NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.

Sean nodded with doubt and stopped asking.

Sean asked when she would come back. Joy told him that the time hadn't been determined yet.

Although Sean also wanted her to come back early, he didn't tell her in the end.

He didn't want to put Joy in a dilemma, nor did he want to force her to go back. He knew that she had

her own reason for not going back, and Sean respected every decision she made.

The two of them chatted for about thirty minutes and then hung up the phone.

It was completely dark now. Joy casually threw her phone on the bed, walked to the tent door and

looked around, but didn't see Amy.

'I don't know where Amy is. Did she go out to date her lover in the middle of the night?'

Joy thought to herself.

The weather tonight was particularly good. A round moon hung in the sky, and the soft moonlight

sprinkled on the whole land of the G City, lighting up every corner.

Looking at the half moon in the night sky, Joy couldn't help but feel a little sad. She had been in the G

City for four or five days and was busy with reports every day during this period, which made her not in

the mood to think about those sad things.

'I didn't know if the annoying Jimmy was asleep or not. I promised him that I would go back in a few

days. But four or five days had passed, and I hadn't gone back yet. I didn't know if he was angry

because of me every day, cold and timid.'
