Chapter 236
Chapter 236
Charlie also called Mamie, telling her to go check on room 8801.
Mamie hung up the phone, feeling
very scared. She dared not disobey Charlie, but she couldn’t afford to offend Manley, either. She was in
a bind
with both of them!
After thinking about it, she grabbed
a bottle of wine and knocked on the door of room 8801. Upon entering, she saw Manley and Estelle sitt
ing on the couch, and it seemed that
Manley hadn’t done anything to Estelle. Mamie felt relieved and said softly with a smile, “Mr. Scott, it’s
been a while since you came. I brought you a bottle of wine to thank you for taking care of us
for so long!”
Manley seemed to see through her thoughts and said with a half– Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
smile, “Mamie, don’t be too normal. A beautiful girl like Estelle comes to the eighth floor, and you don’t
even tell me about it. It’s like you don’t see me as your own people!”
Mamie
played dumb, “Mr. Scott, you mean Estelle? She just arrived not long ago, I haven’t had time to tell you
about it, please don’t be angry!”
Manley smiled faintly, looking at the wine she brought, “If you drink up this bottle of wine, I won’t be ang
ry!”
Mamie’s face changed slightly and laughed awkwardly, “you must be joking!
Manley’s smile faded, “When have I ever joked with you?”
Mamie couldn’t help but feel anxious. Although Manley had a weird temper, he had never bullied her be
fore. Today he suddenly got angry at her, as he might have guessed that she
came here on someone else’s behalf. Feeling guilty, she feared
that after this incident, she would offend Manley!
She smiled and opened the wine, “It’s my fault. I apologize to you, and I’ll drink it up!”
Estelle raised her hand and took the wine from Mamie’s hand, looking
at Manley, “If you’re angry, I’ll apologize. There’s no need to take it out on someone else.”
She didn’t know that someone had taken a picture and posted it on Facebook, catching Charlie’s eye.
She also didn’t know that Mamie came here on Charlie’s behalf. She just thought that Manley was angr
y at her words and dragged Mamie into it.
____Since arriving at Midnight Bar, Mamie had always taken good care of her, so she couldn’t let her ta
ke the blame again.
A chill flashed through Manley’s eyes. Not only did she protect Jonathan, but now she’s also protecting
someone else. What did she take him for? He smiled faintly, “Alright, then you drink!”
Estelle looked at Manley and felt that she was impulsive. She could have just poured the wine on Manl
ey’s head instead of apologizing, what did she have to apologize for?
“Are you regretting yourself?” Manley smirked at her.
Mamie glanced at Estelle, “I’ll toast to Mr. Scott, and you
don’t need to interfere! There are guests at 8809, go check on them!”
Mamie thought that since 8809 was Jonathan’s room, and Manley knew that. Saying this would make
Manley hesitate a bit.
Unexpectedly, upon hearing this, Manley got even angrier and said indifferently, “No one is leaving this
room until she finishes drinking this bottle
of wine!”
Estelle didn’t find Manley’s fickle moods surprising. She calmly took the wine bottle, poured it into her gl
ass, and drank it in a few gulps.
After pouring her second glass, Manley suddenly reached out and grabbed her wrist, his eyes
full of resentment, “Enough!”
He was angry at her for being ungrateful, for being biased
towards Jonathan, and for always looking at him with guarded eyes. But seeing her being forced to drin
k, he felt unhappy at all!
With a loud bang, the door was kicked open. They all turned to look at the entrance.
Jonathan stood at the door in his tall and aloof figure. His eyes landed on Manley’s hand gripping Estell
e’s wrist, and his expression darkened
further.
Mamie breathed a sigh of relief and quickly greeted him, “Hello, Mr. Lamont!”
Estelle forcefully broke free
from Manley’s hand, stood up, and looked at Jonathan who was walking straight toward her.
Manley also got up, his face already wearing a careless smile, “Mr. Lamont, you sure know how to mak
e a grand entrance!”
