Chapter 213

Emily approached, holding a bowl of soup, and stood before the man with a warm smile.

“Here you go, drink up!” she cheerfully offered.

Charlie glanced up, his gaze meeting the girl’s eyes, which were radiant and sparkling reminiscent of o

bsidian kissed by raindrops.

“Shouldn’t you be the one feeding me?” Charlie playfully remarked.

Emily felt a little embarrassed and asked, “Can you drink it yourself?”

“If I could drink

it myself, why would I need you to take care of me?” Charlie laughed, not mad at all. “If you don’t want t

o, I can just hire a caretaker myself.”

“It’s fine, I can do it!” Emily initially felt guilty for injuring Charlie and was grateful he only asked her to ta

ke care of him for a few days without making her pay for medical expenses. How could she refuse?

Emily sat by the bed, picked up a spoon, and fed the man one bite at a time.

The man was wearing a black satin pajama set, his skin was a pampered kind of white- especially now

as he leaned against the headboard, giving off an air of luxury

His lips, initially thin, took on a rosy and alluring hue after sipping the soup. Emily, never having been in

such close proximity to a man before, found herself blushing and averting her gaze from Charlie’s

face. Instead, she focused on the handle of the spoon.

Charlie noticed her discomfort and flashed a gentle smile. The soup is quite delicious, he remarked.

Emily’s face flushed even deeper shades of red. I picked up a few cooking tips from watching my dad i

t already know how to make it, I can always learn.”

“I really found the right person then!” Charlie grinned.

Even though Emily knew he didn’t really mean it, her heart raced. She kept her head down, pretending

not to be affected, blew on the spoonful of soup, and continued feeding the man.

After finishing the bowl of soup, Emily quickly stood up and said, “You take some rest, I’ll go wash the d

ishes. Just call if you need me.”

Charlie nodded and said, “Alright, go ahead!”

Emily walked out with her head down, and only after leaving the room did she let out a long breath, real

izing she was sweating from nervousness.

She went back to the kitchen, washed the dishes and cleaned up. Before she had a chance to rest, she

heard Charlie calling her,

She hurriedly removed her apron and rushed to the master bedroom. Once inside, she panted, “What’s

the matter?”

Charlie looked at her and said, “I need to use the restroom”

Emily was dumbfounded, then slowly widened her eyes.

Charlie expressed his dissatisfaction, “Well, it’s

your fault for feeding me nothing but water and soup. It’s only natural that it needs to come out one way

or another.” Emily’s face turned an even deeper shade of red. She had overlooked this aspect while ca

ring for Charlie at the hospital. The realization struck her that there was more to taking care of him than

just cooking.

Now, she remembered she had to help him use the restroom as well.
