Chapter 212
Chapter 212
That noon, Charlie decided to leave the hospital. He complained about itching on his back from lying in
the hospital bed, feeling nauseous from the smell of disinfectant, and just generally uncomfortable all o
ver
The doctor explained that headache and nausea were normal symptoms of a concussion.
With a solemn expression, Charlie posed a question to the doctor, “Have you ever experienced a concu
ssion?”
The doctor fell silent, his response hanging in the air.
After carefully reviewing Charlie’s recent medical report and finding no further concems, yet unable to s
way his decision, the doctor reluctantly conceded and allowed Charlie to be discharged from the hospit
al
Instead of going home, Charlie went to stay at the Royal Mansion, where Emily took care of him.
Once at the Royal Mansion, a male nurse helped him bathe and changed his clothes! Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.
Charlie lied in bed, most likely exhausted. As soon as he lied down, he fell asleep.
Seeing that he was sleeping soundly, Emily sent the hospital staff away and tidied up before heading o
ut.
First, she took a week off from the dessert shop. After that, she went to the supermarket to buy ingredie
nts to make soup to help Charlie recover. She genuinely wanted to make up for her mistake
When she returned, Charlie was still asleep, so she went to the kitchen to cook the soup.
She had not slept all night,
and dozed off while cooking, leaning on the counter. After some time, the sound of the boiling soup wok
e her up, and she went to check on it immediately
The soup was almost ready. Emily scooped it into a bowl and brought it to the master bedroom.
It was already dark. Emily placed the soup on a side table. Turning around, she saw Charlie awake and
staring at her. She jumped in surprise.
Charlie chuckled, dispelling any concerns. What’s there to be afraid of? Don’t worry, I’m in no condition
to do anything at the moment.”
Emily’s face flushed with embarrassment. “You’re awake?” she exclaimed. “I prepared some soup for y
ou. Please have some; it will be beneficial for your recovery*
“Turn on the light!” the man demanded, his voice low and husky as he awakened.
Emily promptly switched on the lights and inquired, “How are you feeling?”
Charlie furrowed his brow and requested, “Assist me in sitting up, please.”
Emily quickly went over to help him. She reached for a pillow to put behind him for support.
As she stretched for the pillow, her body was leaning forward over Charlie. He caught a whiff of a slight,
sweet scent from her. It was pure and refreshing, and he couldn’t help but inhale deeply.
It was unlike the perfume smells that emanated from other women.
Hearing his breath, Emily thought he was in pain and quickly turned to ask, “Did I touch the wound?”
Resting against the pillow, Charlie admired her charming face and spoke calmly, “Nah, it’s alright. It wa
s just a minor discomfort, but I’m feeling much better now!”
Emily turned to fetch the soup and advised. ‘Drink it while it’s still hot, and make sure to get some more
rest afterward!”
