Tobias did not say anything more. The pair exited the convenience store one after another.

As soon as they were out of sight, the store attendant dashed over to the cashier, no longer able to

contain her feelings. “What a handsome man!” she cried, gesturing frantically at the door. “He looks to

be six and a half feet at least. Just looking at that body makes me want to break my marital vows.”

The cashier cast a disgusted look at her coworker. “Don't you think it's a little shallow to be focusing on

his body?”

The store attendant scratched her head. Even without his chiseled body, she found his face to be

pleasing and symmetrical to look at.

“Forget about his face,” the cashier said. “You should have seen his watch.”

The store attendant did not understand. “What's so special about his watch? Is it the latest smartwatch

or something?”

The cashier suddenly felt faint. Has she been living under a rock?

“The watch he's wearing is a Patek Philippe which costs millions! You don't even know a big fish when

you see one.”

Idania walked behind Tobias all the way to the parking lot. He reached into his trouser pocket for his

keys.

Although Idania's car was parked close by, she made no move to leave Tobias. “I wonder if I can still

hail a cab at this hour,” she murmured just loud enough to be heard as she stared at her screen. “There

seem to be a lot of problems with the service of late. If it weren't for the fact that my car is a limited

edition, I would have driven here myself.”

Tobias placed his purchase from the convenience store on the passenger seat beside him. “Get in,” he

called. “I'll give you a ride. It's not safe for you to go home alone.”

Idania's hand was already on the door handle of the passenger seat long before he finished his

sentence. She gazed at the bag of food on the seat which was overfilling with junk food that girls

enjoyed, still visible underneath the large box of Daffy chocolates poking out through the top of the bag.

Nevertheless, she opened the door and tossed the bag into the back seat.

Tobias stared at her until she scratched her head apologetically. “I was in a faulty elevator once that

gave me some claustrophobia. Sitting alone in the backseat triggers that trauma.”

Tobias did not respond. A beeping alarm sounded when he started the engine.

“Put on the safety belt,” he reminded her. “If you feel uncomfortable, just buckle it in to shut off the

noise.”

Idania fumbled for a long time with her head bowed without succeeding in her endeavor. The

temperature within the car was so low that there was soon a layer of anxious perspiration on her brow.

Far from being nervous, she was hoping that Tobias would do it for her.

Eventually, he grew tired of waiting. Leaning over, he pulled the safety belt over her and snapped it

shut in one deft motion.

Idania pushed a strand of hair behind her ear. “I'm a little nervous. I'm not usually this clumsy.”

“Don't worry about it,” Tobias replied.

His tone, though neutral and politely indifferent, was the most beautiful voice she had ever heard.Nôvel(D)rama.Org's content.

Although Idania did not live very far from the Ford residence, it took a detour of at least forty minutes.

Worried that the food would turn cold, Tobias removed his coat to cover it. At the same time, he turned

the temperature of his air conditioning unit up.

The car sped along the empty highway. Idania watched the oil palm estates lit by street lamps roll past

in a blur.

Despite having a lot she wanted to say to Tobias, Idania did not know where to start. Just then, she

heard his phone buzz repeatedly.
