Chapter 287
Chapter 287
Cullen gave a meaningful look as if he was familiar with the woman in front of him.
The Deputy lowered his head and whispered, "We met her here last time."
Cullen understood. No wonder she looked familiar.
Arya didn't remember him and passed him.
Cullen stopped her, "Did you put the flowers here?"
Arya said yes.
"Why pink daisies?" Generally, yellow and white daisies were the most suitable for visiting a grave.
Arya looked at the daisies. She seemed to recall something long ago. "That's my mother's favorite
flower."
Cullen was surprised. 'What did she just say? Is that her mother's grave?'
'Who is she?'
'Who is Harriet?'
The Deputy was also amazed and asked, "What's your mother's name?"
Because they looked strange, Arya didn't answer but said warily, "Who are you?"
As she spoke, she protected Ryan behind her.
The Deputy quickly explained, "I'm sorry. We've known her for a long time, but we didn't know she had
a daughter, so we asked you so much."
Arya was confused, "Do you know my mother?"
The Deputy nodded, "We don't look like bad people, do we?"
Arya did not know whether the person in front of her was good or bad. Under this circumstance, Arya
did not want to talk to them too much. She nodded at Cullen and led Ryan away.
The Deputy tried to stop her, but Cullen stopped him.
"She said she was Danielle's daughter, so..."
'Who is Harriet?'
Cullen was old, but he was not that old to be confused. It was strange.
"Investigate the Harrison Family secretly again. You can take special measures if necessary." He didn't
have much time to waste, and he couldn't tolerate cheating.
He wanted to see who was lying.
The Deputy lowered his head, "Yes, I will investigate as soon as possible."
Cullen nodded, "Let's go."
The Deputy and his entourage helped lift the wheelchair and placed it in front of the tombstone. Cullen
looked serious, "Although you didn't marry into my family, I treated you as my daughter-in-law. I won't
let the only child of the Porter Family wander outside."
If his son hadn't left suddenly, Danielle wouldn't have gotten married so soon.
Arya had been absent-minded ever since she came out of Eastlawn Cemetery.
Ryan blinked and asked, "Mommy, what are you thinking?"
Arya shook her head and said nothing. The car stopped at the hotel. They got out of the car. The driver
helped Ryan into the hotel. Xavier arranged these so that Arya could go out easily.
They had just walked when an old voice sounded behind them, "Arya."
Arya paused and turned around slowly. She saw Richard standing behind her. He was much older and
his hair became gray.
She remembered seeing him when she first got out of prison. He was fifty years old but looked
younger. It was only two years, and as if he was ten years older now.
After so many changes, it was normal for him to be like this.
Arya didn't intend to say much to him. She said to the driver, "Let's go."
Ignoring her indifference, Richard looked at Ryan and asked, "Is he Ryan?"
Ryan looked at him in confusion and wondered who he was.
"I'm your grandfather." Richard said as he tried to step forward. Arya stopped him, "He doesn't have a
grandfather."
Richard's expression changed and he snapped, "Even if you don't admit it, I'm your father."
His voice was loud, attracting a lot of people's attention. The hotel was originally full of people.
Arya looked at the driver, "Take Ryan back first."
The driver nodded, "Are you OK here by yourself?"
"It's okay." Arya said. She didn't want Ryan to hear anything harsh.
Arya walked to a coffee shop across the street, and Richard followed.
When Richard sat down, Arya immediately said, "I don't want you to appear in front of Ryan in the
future."
She could only let go of the past, but she would not forgive him.
They shouldn't disturb each other's life from now on.
"Even though you don't admit, I'm still your father, Ryan's grandfather." Richard was angry at Arya's
attitude.
What happened to Estella and Marshal hit him hard, and his health was not as good as before.
Harriet didn't live with him. He was alone, and now he thought of Arya.
Arya was tough, "I can let it go this time, but it can't happen again. You know I have the ability to make
you lose whatever you have."
Richard was astonished. How did she become like this? "How did you become so cold and heartless?"
Arya took a sip of the water on the table. When she put down the glass, she raised her eyes. "Thanks
to you."
Arya stood up, "I hope this is the last time we meet."
"Do you think you can do whatever you want with Xavier by your side? Do you know Harriet's situation
now? You don't have the ability to make me lose everything." Richard was panting heavily. He came to
her on his own initiative, which was a compromise for her. What about her?
Did she really think that she could do anything since she had slept with Xavier?
How could Arya forget that Harriet had already entered the Porter Family, but so what?
It meant nothing to her.
If Harriet didn't take the initiative to trouble her, she wouldn't stir up trouble.
But if Harriet troubled her, she would fight back.
"Don't be so stubborn. Although you had suffered a little before, now you should let it go." Richard said
in a low voice.
Arya didn't want to get involved with him anymore. 'Is it that simple? Just suffer a little?'
Just because she had been in prison, Henry had always had an opinion of her. The stain on her was
unable to wash for the rest of her life.
Did he know how her life was like in jail?
How could he ignore it with only several words now?
When Arya walked past Richard, she stopped, "When you forced my mother to die and asked me to
take the blame for your son, we had nothing to do with each other anymore. So, I will do nothing for
you no matter what you say."
Arya ignored Richard's cold expression and walked away.
She had only taken a few steps when Richard's voice sounded behind her. "Do you think your mother
jumped off the building because I have an affair?" NôvelDrama.Org owns © this.
Arya paused. 'Wasn't it the truth?'
If it wasn't his betrayal, how could her mother have jumped off a building?
Richard held the glass tightly, almost crushing it.
He impulsively said, "She died for love..."
But Richard immediately realized that he shouldn't have said that.
