Chapter 283
Chapter 283
Before she could finish her sentence, she saw that the person who came in was not Rufus but a
woman she did not know.
Harriet frowned, "Who are you? Where's Rufus?!"
The woman was beautiful, with short hair and a small oval face. After looking up and down at Harriet,
the woman chuckled and said, "Looking for Rufus?"
Harriet nodded without a doubt.
After confirming her purpose, the woman turned around and said to the person behind, "As long as she
is not disabled."
Harriet became nervous and wondered what she meant.
Before Harriet could figure it out, three tall men had already rushed in from outside the door with clubs
in their hands.
"What are you doing... Ouch..."
Before Harriet could finish her talking, she was hit to the ground. She hugged her head to protect her
face and shouted at the woman, "Who are you?"
The woman was surprisingly calm and stood gracefully by the side in high heels.
Harriet was beaten up and yelled at them. "Do you know who I am? You dare to hit me..."
After she said these words, these men hit her harder.
Harriet twitched and shouted, "Please stop..."
The woman fiddled with her nails and watched indifferently.
Though Harriet was in so much pain that she almost lost consciousness, she was still holding her head
in her hands to protect her face because she was afraid that she would be disfigured.
"Stop!"
As Rufus rushed in, the three men didn't listen to him at all.
Rufus took a breath and looked at the woman, "Georgina, stop it."
Georgina, the daughter of the Taylor Family, was the legal wife of Rufus.
Georgina looked at Rufus and smiled. "Why?"
Georgina knew that Rufus kept mistresses outside but she stayed out of these things.
But he was too presumptuous.
Someone came to her parents and said that Rufus' dirty things outside, which made her humiliating.
"Though you have kept many women outside, I always stay out of your things. I gave you enough
freedom." Georgina asked evenly.
"I don't care as long as others and especially my family members don't know your dirty things. This
time, you've crossed the line." Georgina raised her hand to stop these men.
As she walked to Harriet and raised Harriet's chin, Harriet was trembling and had no strength to resist.
Harriet just looked timidly at the ruthless woman in front, "Who the hell are you?"
"Your lover has a wife, don't you know?" Georgina asked with a smile.
When she smiled, she was very beautiful, yet it sent a chill down Harriet's spine.
"You... You're Rufus' wife?"
But Harriet was innocent.
Harriet hurriedly explained, "I don't have that kind of relationship with him..."
"Oh~" Georgina raised her eyebrows. "Haven't you slept together before? Am I the one who wronged
you?"
Harriet, "..."
Harriet did sleep with him. But that happened long ago.
Noticing Harriet's expression, Georgina didn't want to dwell on their relationship.
Georgina stood up and looked at Rufus. "I only maintained our marriage for our son's sake. If you don't
care about me again, we'll divorce."
Rufus smiled, "You've been wanting a divorce for a long time."
Georgina remained silent.
Georgina waved at the three men, "Let's go."
"Georgina!" Rufus grabbed her arm, "How many years have we been married? Why are you always so
cold to me?"
Georgina didn't want to talk to him about their relationship in front of outsiders.
"Let go of your hand."Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
"Why do I do all these things? It is your fault." Rufus refused to let her go.
Georgina frowned. Even if they were husband and wife, she still looked at him indifferently.
Rufus loosened his hand and smiled sarcastically, "The person you love won't like you, because I've
already slept with you."
"Rufus!" Georgina yelled furiously because he irritated her.
Rufus smiled and clearly knew that she would show other emotions only when hearing the words about
the one she loved.
Georgina calmed down and left in her high heels.
Daisy talked with Mrs. Taylor and deliberately said that Rufus had a woman outside.
Daisy was angry that Rufus harassed Arya.
But she couldn't say Arya's name and just told that Rufus had a woman outside.
Though the people of the Taylor Family heard that Rufus liked to keep women outside, Georgina
always said that he was not serious and just for fun.
The people of the Taylor Family felt shameful when others told the dirty things of the son-in-law.
Then Daisy looked for Georgina.
Georgina hid these things and didn't want anyone to know.
As a result, she became humiliating.
Then Georgina monitored Rufus' phone. When she heard that he was going to meet a woman,
Georgina thought the woman was his lover. When Georgina asked her mother-in-law to hold Rufus
back, she brought someone along to deal with this woman.
Harriet was innocent because at least she wasn't in a relationship with Rufus. But she really slept with
the man.
Harriet was in pain and couldn't get up, "Rufus, take me to the hospital."
Rufus sent her to the hospital because he still wanted to take advantage of her.
Those people were careful. She suffered superficial injuries and had several bruises on her body,
except for her face.
Harriet didn't even know who to blame.
Now she couldn't cut the contact with Rufus, or she would be alone and helpless.
Rufus somehow understood why Harriet didn't dare to investigate the matter.
He pulled up his chair and sat down beside the bed, "Since we are partners, tell me frankly, why can
you stay at the Jones Family and let Henry trust you?"
Harriet pursed her lips and knew she could tell the thing.
It was important.
"We are now in a cooperative relationship. We have our own agendas. As long as we get what we
want, isn't that enough? Why do you know about me?"
Rufus smiled and leaned back in his chair, "You must have done something bad to not dare to say it.
Am I right?"
"I didn't!" Harriet immediately retorted.
"Really?"
"Yes."
"Then why are you so nervous?"
"I'm not."
Harriet tried to be calm.
Rufus approached her, "If you don't tell me, how can we cooperate?"
"We worked well together though you don't know about me. If Xavier hadn't suddenly returned, we
would have followed our plan, right?"
Rufus shook his head, "You still can't understand the situation?"
Since Xavier was back, it wasn't that easy for them to do anything.
Of course, Harriet knew that they had to be careful since the situation had changed when Xavier came
back.
After thinking for a long time, Harriet told him everything, because she would suffer if Rufus went to
investigate this thing.
"Do you know the Porter Family?" Harriet said,
Rufus nodded and knew that Henry and his father had been the subordinate of Cullen before.
'Wait, what did she say? The Porter Family?'
"You mean Cullen?"
Harriet nodded.
Rufus was surprised, "How did you get involved with him?"
Harriet calmly answered and clenched her hand under the quilt, "I'm his only granddaughter."
Rufus blinked. "Didn't his son die before he got married?"
Where did Harriet come from?
Wasn't she a child of the Harrison family? How could she be Cullen's granddaughter?
"His son and my mother used to be lovers, so I'm not Richard's daughter." Harriet said.
Rufus stared at Harriet. "This is good news. Why don't you want me to know?"
Harriet glared at him, "No, I never said I don't want you to know it."
Rufus smiled and asked, "Could it be that you are afraid and don't want to tell others you are not his
daughter?"
