Chapter 525
Chapter 525
After Ralph agreed to take her in, he told Lucile to come at six in the morning until four in the afternoon
everyday. If she was late for even one minute, there was no need for her to come anymore.
She agreed to everything.
Zoel sent her back.
When she reached the gates of Abby's community, he comforted her. "Don't worry. My grandfather is
not that strict. He won't really stop you from entering if you are late."
"It's alright. I won't be late."
She was determined.
She would not admit defeat. She loved to draw, and she had known about the Three K Art Academy
ever since she was a child. She even went to their gallery exhibitions.
Now that she had a chance to study with the dean of the Three K Art Academy, she couldn't give up.
"Alright, I believe you."
"Thank you for the ride."
As she said that, she was about to get out of the car...
"Lucille." Suddenly, Zoel called out to her.
From the start, she could tell that he had something in his mind, but he never managed to say it. She
guessed that it was about Megan.
"Mr. Parker, is there anything else? Just let me know, or I'll be busy if I start learning from Master
Zane..."
Listening to her words, he huffed, "Can you stop calling me Mr. Parker?"
"What?"
She did not expect him to talk about this.
"Then... What should I call you?"
"Just call me Zoel."
He always thought that they were too distant from each other when she called him 'Mr. Parker'.
"Zoel..." She found it somewhat difficult to call his name, but she thought that since he had given her so
much help, she would really be pretentious if she didn't agree to this small request of his.
"Good, and also..."
"What else?"
"The thing about Megan and I..."
Hearing Zoel talked about him and Megan, Lucille sat back in the car and closed the door.
"Alright, say it. I'm listening."
She only thought of herself as a listening partner for Zoel. She did not think much of anything else.
"Megan and I met when we were in university. Just like you and Franklin, we got married after
graduating..."
"Okay."
"After that, Megan was pregnant. When she gave birth to the child, she had dystocia. Due to a lack of
oxygen, the child did not live."
Zoel said it slowly, as if he was recalling those painful memories.
Lucille was also stunned. "What happened after that? After experiencing such a disaster, shouldn't you
two cherish each other more? Why did you leave each other?"
She asked the doubts in her heart.
However, when she finished asking, she realized that she had overstepped.
"Yes, you are right. Before the child was born, we had great expectations for our future. But the child
did not come to the world smoothly, and our world seemed to have ended. I told her that it didn't
matterand that we didn't need a child in the future, but for some unknown reason, she insisted on
having a divorce with me..."
Lucille kept quiet.
"After that, we got divorced. She went abroad for further studies, and she did not come back until a few
days ago." After saying that, Zoel looked at her, "This is the story between us. There is nothing special
about it."
"No wonder you know so much about pregnancy." The doubts in Lucille's heart were solved all at once.
It turned out that he was once a father, and he had experienced these things with his wife.
"That's right." He nodded. "But, our relationship is in the past..."
When he said that, Lucille could not help but think of Megan's words. She asked, "Do you think that you
like me because I am similar to Megan when she was in university?"
"I..." He was speechless for a moment, but after that, he immediately denied, "No."
"Zoel, thank you for today. You have to think about it. If you can't even figure it out, it will be unfair for
everybody, wouldn't it?" She put her hand on the handle of the car door. She thought for a moment and
said, "It is difficult for me to forget about Mr. Moore right now... I can't return your feelings because it's
unfair to you."
After she said that, the car started and drove away.
In fact, she was also depressed. Whenever she decided to forget Franklin, he would suddenly appear
again and disrupt her current state.
He had caused her to be reduced into such a sorry state...
The next day, Lucille started her life as a student.
At first, she thought that Ralph would teach her difficult things, yet she did not expect him to only ask
for quick sketches. She had done these thousands of times back in high school. Only this time, the
requirements and literacy far exceeded that of when she was still in school.
However, she could only follow instructions and dared not object. If she could not finish drawing during
the day, she would continue after Aurora fell asleep. At first, she only slept for three to four hours
everyday. Soon, after her foundation improved, the speed of her quick sketches improved as well. With
that, she gradually had more sleep.
Soon, Ralph raised his demands again.
In the blink of an eye, two months passed.
He naturally recognized Lucille's efforts. She successfully became his final disciple.
Under his special approval, Lucille, Marie and Aurora moved to the backyard of the Three K Art
Academy. Naturally, that saved her a lot of traveling time.
When Aurora was five months old, she needed to undergo an operation. Apart from requesting leave
on those days to accompany her, Lucille spent the rest of her time learning by Ralph's side and
completed the assignments he gave her.
Two and a half years passed in a heartbeat.
In the past two years or so, Lucille changed her phone number and cut off all contact with Franklin.
Zoel would come occasionally, but she was busy everyday, and she did not have much time to talk to
him. He only sat aside and quietly watched her paint. He would also accompany Aurora and play with
her.
Aurora's operation was successful. Although her lips would be different from other children, it was not
obvious. She slowly grew up into a cute little girl. NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.
Only...
Aurora was not like other girls, who had big and round eyes.
On the contrary, her eyes were long and narrow, sharp and almond- like. Her eyes looked a lot like
Franklin's.
He had always looked a little bit feminine. He had a pair of long eyes, and when he looked at people, it
looked as if his eyes could smile.
After two and a half years, it was New Year's Day. As Ralph's final disciple, Lucille successfully opened
her first art exhibition.
She named the exhibition herself. It was called 'Transformation'.
The art exhibition consisted of artworks that she selected during her training from the past two years.
Of course, there was also the painting from before she gave birth. She called it 'Girl's Prayer'.
Because she was Ralph's disciple, her art exhibition naturally attracted the media's attention.
The art exhibition was held for a total of fifteen days. On the last day of the exhibition, she wore a pair
of sunglasses and a mask, entering in complete disguise.
As soon as she entered, she saw a man dressed in a black down jacket. He was wearing a pure white
scarf, and he stood in front of 'Girl's Prayer' and stared at it in a daze.
The staff members knew Lucille, and when they saw her looking at that man, they hurriedly came over.
"Miss Jules, there seems to be something wrong with him. We have thought for several days about
whether we should call the police to arrest him or not."
"Why? What's wrong?"
"On the first day, he came to ask if the painting was for sale, and we said that it was not. He came to
see it everyday and watched it from a close distance until it was almost time for the exhibition to close.
We don't know if there is a problem with him..."
As Lucille listened to the staff member explaining the situation, her feet felt like it was made of lead.
She stood completely still and did not move at all.
The man stood there and looked at the painting. The sunshine shone in, and it seemed like the side of
his face was layered with a golden layer of light.
Franklin, long time no see.
