Chapter 37: I Never Wished
Chapter 37: I Never Wished
When I woke up, I found myself lying on the bed. I didn't recall what happened, but when I saw him sitting beside me, holding my hands, everything went back to normal.
I get my hand back and force myself to sit. Damn, why him? Of all the people inside the venue, why he's the one who helped me? This might cause trouble again.
"Hey, don't move too much. The doctor said you need a rest. You are stressed. That's why you fainted." He explained, and I just nodded.
"Why are you still here?" I asked him, but he just looked away.
I looked at the door, waiting for someone to come in, and started ranting, but no one came.Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
"Because you have no one, that's why I decided to stay?" He said in a not-sure voice. Really? Did he decide to stay?
That's a new word. I didn't know that he had that in his vocabulary. I've never heard that before in the years that we've been together.
For years, he ignored me while I waited for him to bring back the Travis I'd known before, but he didn't. He even pushes me to my limit to make me know that he doesn't care about me anymore.
I've been trying and holding on. I've been forcing myself to stay with him, but he hasn't done the same.
While the only person who stayed by my side was Diane, she's gone long time ago. He never made me feel that those words were real, even in desperate moments.
He didn't choose to stay, but he chose to cheat. He chose to have fun with someone else while I was suffering from pain.
"Really? Well, you can just ask my assistant to be here, and there's nothing for you to waste your time doing while staying here with me," I said, and he seemed to want to know something about the meaning of my words.
"I rushed you alone here. You fainted exactly near the entrance, and I didn't have time to call them." He said, and I just nodded. However, his reason wasn't enough.
"Then just give me my phone, I'll just call her" I told him and even extended my hand but he just look on It.
Why didn't he just give me my phone and stop making time longer?
"The truth is, I left it in my car. It's on the first floor of this building." He said that it made me knot my forehead. I looked outside the window, and we were actually on a high floor. "Then I'll just borrow your phone. Besides, I memorized her number," I told him that he would give me his phone.
He let out a sigh and looked at me.
"I also forgot my phone in my car. Can you stop worrying in the meantime? You have to rest," he said in a concerned voice, but I didn't care.
"I have so much work waiting for me," I said, stood up, and removed the needle from my arms.
"Jasmine, common. Don't we be hardheaded?" He tried to stop me, but I was done. I looked at him and smiled a bit.
Thank you for the help. " I said and bowed to him. I didn't wait for his response and was about to go outside when he grabbed me by my hand. I looked at him and furrowed my eyebrow
What is doing again?
"Look, you are not totally fine. Could you please listen to me for once?" he said and pulled me closer to him, which shocked me.
My hands were now on his chest while we were too close to each other. I distanced myself from him immediately when I realized that his arms were encircled on my waist.
"What are you doing?" He messed up his hair and turned around. He seemed confused. I don't understand him.
"I-I'm sorry. You have not been discharged yet. Could you please wait here and I could call the doctor to examine you?" He calmly said. I sat on the bed and waited for him to call the doctor.
"Just wait here, okay?" He said before he left. He's making sure that I won't leave or escape from here.
"Just go!" I frustratedly said, and he left the room. I feel good now, and I think I could go out.
While waiting, I realized that three hours had passed. What about my work? Maybe they are now looking for me, and Stacy is getting furious because I wasn't there.
The doctor entered and started examining me. He said that I'm fine now but I should avoid too much stress. He also gave me medicine in case I experienced a headache.
After that, he agreed to discharge me. I was about to pay my expenses, but when I went to the front desk, they said that it was already paid by the man who rushed me over here.
They were talking about Travis. I walk towards him.
"I'll just pay you back," I said. I was about to hand him the money, but he didn't even pay attention. Rude, I murmured.
There's no need. Maybe you can go
home and take a rest now," he recommended, but I wouldn't be doing that. I still have two hours to get back to the site to work, and I
don't care if Stacy gets furious with me.
"No, they need me there," I said. I started to walk, but he followed me.
"You heard the doctor, right?" He tried to convince me to change my mind.
He doesn't have to worry, or should I say be concerned, because we don't know each other now.
I stopped as I realized that I didn't see my car there. He stopped, and I heard him curse.
"I have to go back there," I said firmly, and I heard him let out a heavy sigh.
"Fine, just get inside and I'll drive you there," he said while opening the door of his car.
I did what he said because I had no choice since I didn't have my car here. But I never wished to get inside his car or be with him here.
