Chapter 546
Chapter 546
After the last incident, he was careful not to exert too much force, avoiding causing her any more pain. He could see it clearly; Sherilyn's elbow had swollen up, bulging into a noticeable bump.
And she still wouldn't see a doctor?
Showing more patience than usual, Gilbert spoke in a deep voice. "Get up, we're going to the hospital."
He had thought about just picking her up and going, but he feared her resistance might worsen her injury.
"What?" Sherilyn paused, "Didn't I say I'm not going?"Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
"Not going?" Gilbert's face darkened, his anger bubbling up, "You think that pathetic ice pack is going to do anything?"
"I don't know," Sherilyn admitted, "Might as well try... maybe it'll work."
What kind of logic was that?
Gilbert was not known for his patience, and after holding it in all this way, he finally burst out.
"Sherilyn, who are you being so stubborn for? Because I had a fallout with Edgar, you want to suffer with him? Is that it?"
Sherilyn was taken aback. What was he even saying?
"Or is it that..."
The words that followed were harsh and unfiltered, bursting out from Gilbert's mouth, "You want Edgar to take you to the hospital? Is that it?" Sherilyn was struck dumb, speechless with shock.
"Hmph."
Gilbert sneered with disdain, his words sharp like daggers. "Get that thought out of your head. That's not happening! If you don't want to go to the hospital, then suffer!"
With those words, he turned and stormed out.
The door slammed shut with a loud bang!
Sherilyn chuckled to herself, not bothering with his words, and continued to apply the ice pack to her elbow.
But deep down, she knew a hospital visit was inevitable.
Her elbow was in too much pain. A blood test was first on the list, followed by a doctor's consultation for her arm.
The next morning, Gilbert returned to the master bedroom to shower and change.
As he approached the walk-in closet, he heard faint groaning from the bed - it was Sherilyn!
He hurried over to find Sherilyn wincing in pain, her elbow even more swollen than the night before.
This was going too far; he couldn't let her continue like this.
"Get up!" Careful to avoid her injured elbow, he scooped her up. "We're going to the hospital!" "I'm not going!"
Sherilyn broke out in a cold sweat

Hearing this, Gilbert narrowed his eyes.
Something was off. Why didn't
t him coming along et happening? Did it
have something to do with Edgar?
This thought ignited a firestorm of anger within him.
"No rush. I'll take you to the hospital first!"
Keeping his composure, Gilbert carried her downstairs, "Wait here, I'll get the car."
Turning to the housekeeper, he instructed, "Bring down Ms. Gomez's coat!"
"Right away, Mr. Gilbert!"
But as soon as Gilbert let go, Sherilyn made a dash for the stairs.
"Stop!" Gilbert, frantic, chased after her.
Startled, Sherilyn stumbled and was about to fall when Gilbert caught her just in time.
"Be careful!"
Sherilyn's eyes went wide, her heart pounding, her mind blank. Suddenly, her legs gave way, and she slumped downwards. "Sherilyn!"
Gilbert, alarmed, cried out as he scooped her into his arms.
"Get my bodyguard in here, now!"
"Right away, Mr. Gilbert!"
At the hospital.
"Doctor, how is my wife? She passed out, is it from the pain? Is she in shock?"
"Mr. Gilbert, your wife passing out has nothing to do with the injury on her arm. She fainted because... she's pregnant."
