Whispers Of Betrayal (Anastasia and Alastor)

Chapter 28

Chapter 28

Anastasia felt absurd as she retorted inwardly, “Are you forbidding others from doing what you yourself are doing?” Then, she replied. “What did you say? I can’t hear you.”

The music in the bar was loud, and even though she was in a quiet area, she could not hear Alastor clearly.

“She is drunk. I’ll bring her back with me if you don’t plan to pick her up.” Jason reached out and took Anastasia’s phone.

Alastor hung up the phone directly.

“He may think you’re threatening him.” Jason leaned against the smoking area and lit a cigarette.

Anastasia also leaned against the wall and reached out for a cigarette.

“Are you crazy?” Jason frowned and put off the lit cigarette.

His movement of lighting the cigarette was out of habit. He had forgotten that Anastasia was right beside him.

“What did he say?” Anastasia asked with her head down.

“Nothing.” Jason was telling the truth.

Anastasia fell into silence. Then, she stood up straight and walked out dizzily.

“Where are you going?” Jason trailed after Anastasia.

“Didn’t you say you’d stay with me tonight? Let’s go to the hotel.” Anastasia seemed to be joking, yet she seemed serious about it.

“Are you trying to burst out all of your rebellious habits that you have yet to show from your teenage years?” Jason was amused.

“It sounds like you know me very well. How do you know that I was not rebellious during my puberty?” Anastasia laughed ironically.

She had chosen to be an obedient girl at the time of everyone’s rebellious puberty.

She was so obedient that anyone could bully her.

The most rebellious thing that had happened in her life was her leaving her so–called biological family and choosing to have a blitz marriage with Alastor.

“Let me take you to a place.” Jason pulled Anastasia over and took her through the bar kitchen. They entered the private elevator and went upstairs.

That was not a tall building, and it had an open–air garden on the roof. There were many green plants and beautiful flowers in bloom.

Hidden within the high–rise buildings of Hork, the scene looked like a land of paradise.

“If he comes, you can see him from here.” Jason pointed downstairs.

Anastasia was slightly looking forward to it as she asked, “Do you think he will come?”

“Why did you get married at an early age?” Jason asked.

Those who had the same age as Anastasia, such as Kimberly, were still pursuing their studies.

“I wanted to pursue my postgraduate studies initially, but I chose the blitz marriage in the age when I should enhance myself.” Anastasia smiled while she lowered her head, and she thought that was her fate. She continued, “That’s why I’ve always been rebellious.”

“I thought you would continue pursuing your study. You said your dream…” Jason’s voice was very low.

“Hmm?” Anastasia did not hear him clearly.

“Nothing” Jason brought Anastasia a bottle of mineral water.

“Can we take anything we want here? Will that count as stealing?” Anastasia glanced around and found that there was no one on such a beautiful rooftop.

“It’s a private area, Jason said indifferently.

“Private area? Why did you bring me here? Aren’t you afraid that the manager will fine you?” Anastasia sat by the flower pond, looking downstairs.

In fact, she was expecting Alastor to come for her.

It was humble for her to force Alastor away from Felicia in such a way.

Are you afraid of this when you’re so rebellious?” Jason smiled and added, “Anastasia, do you plan to have a divorce?”

Anastasia shook her head. “I won’t divorce him.”

She thought, “Why should I divorce him?”

Jason frowned, and his expression turned gloomy. “Do you love him that much?”

“I love him. After four years of marriage, he has become family to me and a material basis I have never had before. How could it possibly be that I don’t love him?” Anastasia said ironically while she described herself in a vulgar manner.

Nevertheless, all she wanted was to have her own family.

Before meeting Alastor, she was very poor. Her tuition fee needed to be covered by a student loan, and she needed to work many part–time jobs to sustain her living expenses. Her mentor had helped her apply for a slot for her postgraduate study, but she gave it up because Alastor had promised to create a home for her.

“You can start a new life again. There’s still a long way ahead for your future.” Jason looked at Anastasia, wanting her to give Alastor up.

Anastasia just smiled at him.

She thought, “I’m sick and dying. I can’t see my future ahead. If I can live longer, I won’t try to persuade Alastor to stay without a remainder of my dignity. I’ll leave without turning back and live my desired life. However. I’m dying soon. All 1- want is to have a complete family when I pass away and ‘Beloved Wife of Alastor‘ written on my gravestone.” Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.

It was one o’clock in the morning.

Anastasia browsed through Instagram and said in despair, “He won’t come.”

Felicia had posted something on her Instagram. She was hospitalized and wrote: [I’m lucky to have the fruitful result of our love again.]

Felicia was pregnant, too.
