Chapter 21 Old Hermit
Hailey’s Point of View
“I can already feel the energy of the old hermit.” Demon says.
“Are you sure?” I asked.
“Yes.” His answer was short.
The demon pointed to a house. It is white in color and compared to the places we passed, there are beautiful flowers here.
“This place is weird.” I said, amazingly.
We got even closer to the house. We saw an old man. Wearing a white cape and a pointed hat.
Holding a long white cane. His beard is long.
“Why are you here?” He asked deeply.
“We need you. You’re the old hermit we’re looking for.” Demon gently said.
“Come in.” The old hermit said.
When we were about to enter, there was a barrier around us, so we could not enter.
“Remove the barrier.” The Demon’s command.
“Not everything you can take in command. Make an effort to remove the barrier. ” The old hermit said emphatically.
“What will we do to remove the barrier?” Raze asked.
“Open your heart and let the good energy flow.” He says it figuratively.
I smiled at him. I touched the barrier. Raze and Demon were surprised when my hand penetrated the barrier.
“You are a good heart, worthy to enter the world in righteousness.” He said, so I went in.
“How are my friends?” I asked worriedly.
He waved his hand and the barrier disappeared.
“Hurry up and get in.” He says.
After they entered, the old hermit re-opened the barrier all around us.
“Why do you need a barrier?” I asked him.
“Because a lot of evil creatures are outside the barrier. This area is covered by Vampire University, but a lot of creatures want to overthrow the university. ” The old hermit explained.
When we entered the house, there was very little equipment.
“Don’t you have a seat here?” Demon asked.
“Look in front of you.” He says.
In an instant, there were three chairs and a table in front of us.
“Cool.” I said softly.
“Come with us.” Raze said humbly.
“Why do you want me to come with you?”
“You need to come along to save Drake.” My answer.
“Isn’t he Dracilus’s brother?” He asked.
“You’re right. He needs to- ”
The Demon couldn’t continue what he was about to say because the old hermit stopped him.
“I’m not going with you. No matter what you do. ” He said emphatically.
“We’re not leaving until you come with us.” I said.
“Miss, no one will allow me to help you.” He says.
“Old hermit- ” He cut me off.
“Don’t call me old.” He said stiffly.
“What do you want me to call you? My brother? ” I asked philosophically.
“You’re old, so I should just call you an old hermit.” I continued.
His face turned red because I teased him.
“It’s better to be old than short like you.” He was teasing me.
Raze and Demon laughed out loud, so I stared at them.
“I’m not short.” I said and pouted.
“Short Hailey!” Raze and Demon shouted before running away.
“You two are rude.” I said, annoyed.
“Old hermit, come with us.” I forced him.
He just smiled.
“I’ll come with you if you can pass the three tests I’ll give you.” He challenged me.
“All right. What tests are you going to give? ” I asked.
“You’ll know tomorrow.” He says.
It will soon get dark, so here we will spend the night.
As I walked around this house, I saw a picture of a child.
“This boy has something in common.” I exclaimed.
“Because he’s Drake.” The old hermit suddenly appeared, and I was caught in my chest.
“Why do you have a picture of him?” I investigated.
“He’s my grandson, whom I haven’t seen in a long time.” He said it deeply and smiled at me.
I look directly at him.
“You may be smiling in front of me, but you’re just lying.” I said, so his face was serious.
“Smiles are just mascara, but your eyes are telling the truth.” I added.
“I can see in your eyes the sadness that is the opposite when you show a smile.” I continued.
“You’re a smart woman. But there’s something you don’t know yet about yourself. Maybe what you’re showing me is just a mask too. Your heart has a hidden demon. ”
“Why don’t you go to him?” I changed the topic.
“He wouldn’t want to see me.” He says it bitterly.
“How do you know if you won’t try?”
“I was separated from my two grandchildren by their parents. Dracilus and Drake are my two grandchildren. ”
“Why did you stay away from your grandchildren?” I asked.
“I was sick then, and they didn’t want to infect my grandchildren. They sent me here to the Forest of Darkness to get away from them.” He explained.
There were tears falling from his eyes. Tears of grief and longing.
“I didn’t think an old hermit like you knew how to cry.” I joked.
So he wiped away his tears and walked away from me.
No matter how much you pretend to be happy in front of others, you can’t stop your heart from shouting out how it really feels.NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.
I held the photo. If you look closely, there is a man behind them.
I can’t see the face much anymore because this photo is old.
I went to the bedroom to rest.
I peeked out the window because I heard a noise coming from outside.
When I looked up, there were monsters scattered all over the environment. Others want to enter, but there is a barrier all over the house.
I stared at a monster. His eyes were eager for blood, as her lips had helped saliva.
He flew upwards and I saw his whole body.
He strikes the barrier like a mad monster.
I looked down because the old hermit was there.
The monsters approached him. He can’t afford to hurt them because there is a barrier.
“You monsters who ruthlessly kill innocents shouldn’t live anymore.” The old hermit said.
The monsters laughed. The old hermit turned his back on them, but before he entered the house, he threw something at the monsters.
What he threw grew and surrounded the bodies of the monsters, and then tightened the grip that killed the monsters.
Notable is that it is like a whip made of plants and with thorns.
“Arghhh!” The monster cried out in pain.
