Chapter 164 The Secret
Chapter 164 The Secret
Jeffery took Vivian out of the studio. Except for Larry, they were staring at Donald in fear.
Donald noticed that Kara was staring at him with shock. He raised his eyebrows at her and put on a
smile.
"Did you see a ghost?"
Kara swallowed. He was more terrifying than a ghost at the moment.
He was worried that he would scare her. He didn't want her to see his fierce side, so he had hidden it
from her.
He calmed down and smiled at everyone. "Master Larry was right. Kara is the youngest in our studio.
As her seniors, we should take care of her. I hope such things will not happen again. Do you
understand?"
Everyone nodded. Donald was warning them by expelling Vivian.
That was what they would get if they dare to bully Kara. From now on, even if they wanted to do that,
they would not have the courage.
"Well. Go back to your work, everyone. Kara will be on duty in the painting hall with me."
Jamya nodded. He had proposed it.
How could she refuse?
Everyone went back to their work. Kara lowered her head and got the besom to sweep the fragments
of the teacup.
"Kara, put it down. Let me do it." Frankie stepped forward to stop her.
"Thanks, Uncle Frankie. I can do it."
Kara shook her head. She could do it.
Frankie felt Larry staring at him and helplessly rubbed his forehead. James said that Kara was here to
learn drawing.
If she was to get hurt again, not only would Donald lose his temper, but James would not forgive them.
The besom was snatched away by Frankie. Kara then wanted to get a rag to wipe the paint on the
table but was stopped by another senior sister. She felt awkward.
"Don't get in their way. You go get the damaged painting with Donald and repair it." Larry scolded her.
Kara nodded.
She bit her lips and followed Donald to the drawing hall.
Seeing her being upset, Larry was shilly-shallied.
She had just been frightened. Now he was too fierce to her. Would he scare her?
It was difficult to take care of a little girl.
When they arrived at the drawing hall, Donald saw that she was upset. He thought that it was because
she had been scolded by Larry.
"Master Larry is childish. He scolded you because he didn't know how to comfort you."
She shook her head. "I know that Master Larry didn't target at me. It was my fault. However, everyone
was scolded by Master Larry. I feel bad about it."
Donald realized that she was sensitive. He helplessly rubbed his forehead.
"If you feel sorry for them, treat them to a meal as compensation."
Her pure amber eyes lit up. He was touched when she blinked and her long eyelashes fluttered.
"Does it work?"
Although she did not care about what everyone thought of her, they had to work together in the
following days. If their relationship went wrong, she would feel awkward at work.
"Of course," Donald comforted her.
Whether it worked or not, as long as she was happy, he could make the impossible possible.
Hearing his affirmation, she was relieved and a faint smile flickered on her face.
They went to check the painting damaged by Ronin. It was the work of a famous painter. It was a
dancing doll that lacked a leg now.
The painting was dark in color. It was incomplete because the doll lacked a leg.
Being incomplete was not scary. What was scary was that the doll's eyes were not colored.
It looked extremely desperate.
Kara placed the painting properly and happened to meet the eyes of the doll. She was frightened and
retreated in fear.
Donald quickly stabilized the wooden board. He saw that her face was pale in fear. An idea occurred to
him, and his face became a little pale too.
He threw away the painting carelessly and walked to Kara, comforting her in a low voice,
"Kara, don't be afraid. It's just a painting!"
Kara widened her eyes and stared at the doll, and the inexplicable fear invaded her mind again.
She was frightened by just taking one look at the painting.
How shocking it was!
She shook her head and let herself come back from fright. She indeed admired its painter.
Meanwhile, she hoped that she could also create such amazing paintings.
When she saw Donald staring at her worriedly, she blinked in confusion. "Donald, thank you."
"Kara, don't be afraid. You must tell me if you encounter any problems. I will help you," Donald said
solemnly.
She stared at him, not knowing why became so serious suddenly, and she felt that the way he looked
at her was weird.
Seemingly, he was regarding her as another person that he treasured very much.
"Donald, are you okay?"
Donald stared at her for a long time before he calmed down. "Kara, take my words. I can help you deal
with any problems. Even if you want to keep away from James, I will help you."
...
Because of the heavy workload today, when she returned to the villa, it was a little late.
She saw Libby standing anxiously at the door when she got off the car. Libby was relieved when she
saw Kara.
"What's wrong, Libby?" Seeing she was nervous, Kara thought that something bad had happened.
"Nothing. The dinner was done. I was worried because I had been waiting for you for a long time." NôvelDrama.Org content.
Libby shook her head with a smile.
One hour ago, James had asked her about Kara, but Kara had not returned. She did not know how to
explain it, so she was panicky.
"I'm sorry, Libby. I was busy today and forgot to tell you in advance." Kara held Libby's arm and
apologized.
Kara acted like a spoiled child to please Libby. Thus, Libby was softened towards her. Moreover, she
was merely a servant. She could not ask Kara, the mistress when she would return.
Only Kara had a good temper, and would not chide her for that and even act coquettishly to beg for
forgiveness.
As usual, Kara took medicine first and had a rest before dinner.
However, she didn't have an appetite. She didn't know if it was because the medicine was too bitter
today or something else. She stared blankly at the position where James often sat.
"Mrs. Hemming, are you okay?" Libby is worried because Kara was biting her forks and not eating.
Kara came back from her thoughts and instantly shook her head.
Over the past few days, James had had dinner with her. Although they did not talk to each other during
dinner, she felt very happy when he was by her side.
Now he was not here, she suddenly felt upset. Although the dishes were her favorites, she had no
appetite.
She didn't want Libby to worry, so she managed to eat some.
She went upstairs to James's study. She had wanted to go get back her computer. It was in his study,
but she had never dared to get it because she had done something embarrassing there last time.
Now he was not around, she would like to seize the chance to get her computer.
She walked to his chair and sat down. After whirling in the chair for some time, she suddenly saw a
half-open drawer. She vaguely saw something familiar and then slowly opened the drawer.
