You can feel it
Marco left Letta’s room and immediately grabbed his phone. He stepped away a little so his voice wouldn’t be heard by his wife. Marco promptly contacted Pedro because there was an important matter that needed to be resolved that day.
“I want you to make sure that everything in the house that makes Letta suspicious is removed, especially the key to the small room. Don’t let Letta find out about it. Tell all the servants and guards at home never to mention what happened to Letta at home, including Desi. You know what to do,” Marco instructed Pedro before ending the call.
Marco felt the need to sort it out as the doctor had allowed Letta to return home after her condition improved. It only required regular check-ups, and Marco sighed deeply, hoping there would be no issues when bringing Letta back home.
Then, Marco re-entered the room and saw Letta standing, gazing out of the window. He approached Letta and tightly embraced her shoulder. “Why?” Marco asked.
“I don’t know why, but it feels so jittery. This is the first time I’ve been out of this place; it feels like the first time I set foot in the outside world. You can imagine how excited I am,” Letta said with a smile.
Marco replied, “Yes, there are many interesting things out there that you will surely love.” After that, Letta took Marco’s wrist and placed it on her chest.
“You can feel it, my heartbeat is racing, as if my heart will explode right now,” Letta said.
Marco stopped smiling, “Never say something like that. I don’t like it when you describe it with frightening words.”
Letta was slightly puzzled by Marco’s reaction. “Why? I just said it, I’m very happy and looking forward to it,” Letta said.
Marco finally smiled, “Forget it. So, are you ready to go back outside?”
“Yes, of course I am,” Letta said enthusiastically. Marco then tightly held Letta’s hand and led her out of the room that had confined Letta for almost five months.
Letta bid farewell to the doctor and nurses who had taken care of her, thanking them for their assistance. Marco opened the car door for Letta, but she paused for a moment.
“Why?” Marco asked.
“Is our house far away?” Letta asked.
Marco nodded, “Yes, our house is quite far.”
Letta smiled, “No, I was just asking.”
Letta got into the car followed by Marco and others. Marco drove the car slowly, while Letta enjoyed the view from the window. “The sky is clear. Look, there were many people playing, sunbathing, and exercising in the park earlier. Can I do the same next time?” Letta asked, looking at Marco.
Marco smiled and nodded, “You can do anything you want, but only after you’ve fully recovered.”
Letta furrowed her brows, “I am already very well. The doctor has allowed me to go home, hasn’t he?” Letta said, looking at Marco.
Marco nodded, “Yes, of course.”
As they continued the journey, Letta suddenly asked Marco to stop the car. Marco was surprised and immediately hit the brakes. “What’s wrong?” Marco asked, looking at Letta.
Letta gazed out of the window, “Look, the food truck. Isn’t that the person selling ice cream cones?”
Marco turned to look at the ice cream truck, “Yes, that’s right.”
Letta asked, “Can I buy some?”Owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
Marco looked at her with raised eyebrows, “You can’t. It’s still too early, and you just took your medicine.”
Letta looked at him with a sad expression, “Come on, it’s been an hour already. I think the doctor would allow it too. Aren’t you being cruel? Maybe the baby in here wants its ice cream.”
Marco glanced at Letta’s round belly and let out a long sigh. Finally, he stopped the car and instructed the guards to buy all the flavors of ice cream from the truck. Letta smiled as she watched Marco queuing with the little children to get her the ice cream.
Letta asked, “Why did you instruct your guards to buy the ice cream? Why didn’t you get out yourself?”
Marco grinned tightly and remained silent. “Should I stand in line among those kids? Definitely not,” Marco said, causing Letta to look at him with a sad expression.
“Yet it’s your wife and your child who want it, but you ask someone else,” Letta said, audible to Marco. Marco turned to Letta, who chose to look out the window.
“Wouldn’t it feel the same, whether it’s me or the guard buying it?” Marco replied.
“It’s not about the feeling, but about the care. It seems like people will think that your guard is my husband and the father of this baby,” Letta said again, and the next moment Letta heard the door next to her open. Marco walked out and approached the guard. Letta didn’t know what they were talking about, but the guard returned to stand beside the car, and Marco took his place. Letta found her husband’s behavior amusing, as with just that statement, Marco complied with her request as if he was reluctant to let someone else take his place.
After a few minutes, Marco returned with two bags of ice cream in his hands. He got into the car and handed the ice cream to Letta.
“Here’s the ice cream you wanted. I hope all the flavors won’t disappoint, because I was willing to wait in line for these mini ice creams for a long time,” Marco said, handing the ice cream to Letta.
Letta chuckled softly as she took one of the ice creams, “Do you want to try it too?”
Marco shook his head, “No, it’s too cold for me.”
Letta just shrugged and began to enjoy the ice creams one by one from the various flavors that Marco had provided.
