Chapter 20- Primordial.
Sera’s breath stopped for a moment. She didn’t know how to react. Kallias was too strong. What would she do with them?
“Funny how two werewolves came directly to me. It seems they like to face danger, no?” – He laughed.
Sera and Karim looked at them, frightened.
“Don’t look at me that way.” – he smiled. ” I won’t hurt you. I need you. You are not weak like those others I have controlled.”
Kallias approached Sera and said:
“Remember the gift I gave you?” – And she remembered the kiss. ” He will be useful in your future. So I need you alive.”
Suddenly, wolves in the form of shadows surrounded them. Karim tried to fight, but one of them tightened her neck.
Sera stood up, trying to help him, but another shadow stopped her.
“You think I’m being nice? You think you’re alive, why? Only by your lineage, because you’re useful. Nothing else. Your friends have only survived, so you are more interesting. Put yourself in your shoes, children.”
And so, a shadow formed around them in a bubble shape, trapping them both in a prison with no way out.
Sera and Karim felt themselves floating behind Kallias as he began to lead them through that cave.
The demigod laughed at the look of their anger.
“Don’t look at me like that, it’s an important thing. The era of the weak wolves that forgot it is over. The era of the real wolves is near. An era where those who do not listen to Mother will not survive.”
Kallias looked at them with now yellow eyes and an expression of anger and resentment. As if it affected him internally.
“I’ll tell you something interesting, Sera.” – Kallias gave an arrogant smile.” Do you know why whoever is painted on the wall of the chosen is your mother and not someone from your father’s family?”
Sera looked at him, curious. Kallias knew he would get her attention with that information.
“Your father’s family, he included, wanted to prevent someone in his clan from suffering the same as others were suffering. And that brought a curse on its name. Funny, no? How fate works.” – He looked deep into her eyes, his blue eye and the other gray, shining.
“And then your mother became a chosen one. The Abrams were Mother-fearing. But your mother also became a disappointment. I tried everything to help her. But in the end, she became someone fearful.” – He made an expression of disdain. ” You denied your own wolf bribery when you should have accepted it.”
Sera swallowed, knowing that this conversation would not have good information for her.
“And so, both sinners were bound by fate to have a daughter. But they both took away their daughter’s wolf. Challenging the Mother once again.”
Sera held her breath. She was understanding where Kallias was going, but she couldn’t be.
“That’s right. Your mother also wanted to arrest your wolf, Sera. For fear. How pathetic.”
Sera couldn’t believe it. Tears trickled down her face. Karim wanted to comfort her, impossible in his current state.
“What do you want from us? Why are we here? Just for you to attack her? You coward!” – He shouted.
Kallias looked at him with mockery and small daggers of shadows pierced his stomach.
“I’m just returning to the natural cycle, boy. The cycle your clans have corrupted.”
Sera almost screamed to see Karim attacked. But the bubble wouldn’t let her near.
Until a clear, deep voice was heard. A voice she had heard once before.
“Kallias. Let them go. Let’s settle this ourselves.”
At that moment, Sera noticed a different expression in Kallias’ eyes. Would it be hate? Anger? Or even love? She couldn’t tell.
Jae Hyun appeared with her messy hair and high school uniform. A higher aura affected him.
What made Sera connect some information. Kallias was the primordial alpha. Was Jae Hyun the primordial omega? That was almost certain.
Kallias gave a fake smile.
“Then she woke you up.” – Said disappointed. ” I was protecting you, Jae Hyun. You know that.”
“If you want to protect me, why do you attack so many people?” – Jae asked, exasperated.
“Because they have corrupted our world. And they will continue to corrupt.”
“You’re doing it too, Kallias. You’re exterminating our people.”
Kallias approached him with an expression of disappointment.
“Don’t do it, Jay. Don’t treat me like I’m to blame and not them.”
“The ego of the alphas driven you crazy. I know you want to bring our ancient world and mother’s power back to the wolves. But, this way is not correct.” – Jae said, caressing his face.
Kallias kissed his hand and replied:
“It’s the only way.”
And so crows approached Jae and he turned into a huge white wolf.
Kallias laughed and did the same. The lupine shadows surrounded him and in seconds there was a huge black wolf in the man’s place.
One growled at the other and the battle began. Jae Hyun jumped at Kallias and knocked him down. Soon, the situation changed, with Kallias getting up and throwing him to the ground with a bite.
Both growled at this moment and Jae gave a groan of pain.
“We shouldn’t be fighting. You should be on my side. You’re my omega.” – Kallias shouted.
“And you should be on my side. But you chose to abandon me. And to be close to a child.”
Sera was shocked. Was he referring to his mother?
“I did not touch her. We had no romantic relationship. ” – Kallias gasped, showing her teeth.
And Sera knew that what he had said the other day was just a provocation and the truth was being told now.
“Not always a betrayal comes from relating to another person. And yes, from certain attitudes.” – Jae replied, growling.
“I arrested you to protect you.”
“No.” – Jae growled. ” You did it so I wouldn’t stop your plans.”
And one attacked the other again. They were faster than Sera could keep up. When she least expected it, one or the other was on the floor with teeth marks all over his body and a loud thud could be heard against the floor.
Sera heard someone panting, it was Karim. His condition was not very good and she was worried.
The smell of blood caught the attention of Jae Hyun and his Crows managed to pierce the Kallias barrier.Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.
Sera thanked him with a glance, when he was attacked again and taken to the ground.
She took Karim by the arm and helped her get up. She looked into his eyes and somehow he understood. Stating yes, he could run.
While both disappeared from view. Kallias sent wolves from the shadows to chase them. However, a giant crow protected them with a peep that sent the wolves away. Sera and Karim continued to flee.
“Why do you care so much about protecting these children? They could be the key to getting our world back. You know that if I’m with them I can do it.” – Kallias screamed.
“Of course they are the key. But, not in your way.” – Jae replied.
They continued fighting, tirelessly. Until the youth fled.
“How long will you hinder me and prevent me from bringing the old world?” – Said Kallias, panting, turning back into human.
“Until when you return to your old self, dear.” – Jae replied, also panting, returning to his human form.
Both looked at each other with a sad look and Jae stood up, still wounded, turning into a raven.
Kallias did not stop him. They could not kill each other and he did not want to hold him, as he had already done.
——
Sera didn’t know how they had the strength to get to school. But they did.
When the gates were opened, Karim fell. And it was the first time she was standing and he was not.
