The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage

Chapter 1839

Frank sighed, shaking his head-the pecking order always worked.

Hence, he got onto a buggy escorted by the soldiers, which soon arrived at a five-floored manor near the sea.

When they arrived and Frank alighted, he did a double take as the soldiers alighted and followed him.

"Why are you boys still following me?" he asked.

"Governor's Quill's orders, sir," one of the soldiers replied. "He's worried there'd be another misunderstanding, so he told us to stay as your escort."

"Fine." Frank sighed, not bothered to chase them away, and hurried inside the manor.

The Quills certainly deserved their reputation as one of the top families in the country. A single manor was just a part of the entire estate, but it was already almost the same scale as Frank's Cologne Court.

Then, as the soldiers continued to escort Frank straight up to the fifth floor, they ran into Alba, who had just tried to chase Frank away. "What are you doing here?!" he snapped, clearly frowning with clear disdain when he saw Frank.

Frank was not going to be nice, given Alba's earlier attitude either, and he replied coolly, "Sorry, but Grandfather allowed me in here." "Grandfather?"

Alba narrowed his eyes and laughed coolly. "What grandfather? I've never heard my father saying that he has another grandson!"

Then, pointing at the soldiers escorting Frank, he snapped icily, "You, you, and you. Get him out of here! Quill Manor is hallowed grounds, and no filthy peasants should be let in!"

"Filthy peasants?"

Frank laughed despite himself-he

Chuckling coolly, he asked, "Don't you think you're giving yourself too much credit? If I'm a peasant, then what are you? Nobility?"

Alba's cheeks stiffened, but he straightened his tie and cleared his throat. "Of course. I'm Governor Quill's third son."

"Hmph."

Frank snorted. "People are equal in my eyes. Only dogs care to divide themselves by class."

"Dogs...?"

Alba's face soon fell in realization as he sprang from his armchair, glaring at Frank murderously. "Did you just call me a dog?!"

"I didn't. You're the one who insisted on dividing people by class."

"Hmph!"

Alba snorted coldly. "My father put his life on the line to fight and shed blood in the north, all on his own! That accomplishment alone sets me apart from peasants like you!" Content belongs to

Frank raised a brow at him in turn, as if he was an imbecile. "If your father did that, then that's his accomplishment. What does that have to do with you? Or were you there with him?" Content belongs to

As Alba's cheeks flushed beet red, Frank continued. "Also, I'm here to save your daughter, so you should behave around me, or she's dead!"

Alba did a double take, but he soon roared with laughter. "Hahaha!!!"
