Chapter 460
Chapter 460
"Why haven't you accepted my friend request on Facebook?" Cordelia asked, her voice shaky.
"Why would you want to add me on Facebook if you hate me so much?"
"I..." Cordelia stuttered. Ronan's directness left her speechless.
"Are you trying to see Callum?" Ronan guessed, recalling Cordelia’s recent visit to Millstone, where she
met Brooklyn, who might have mentioned Facebook and prompted Cordelia to add him.
Finally, he was getting under her skin!
"Will you accept my request or not?" Cordelia asked again, trying to keep her voice steady.
Ronan released Cordelia, his tone lightening. "Give it up. I won't."
Cordelia was so frustrated. As she was about to leave, he called out to her, "Wait!"
"What?"
"Heard you've become Andi's godmother? Do you know who the godfather is?" Ronan asked, his gaze
fixed on her.
"I didn't ask. Probably you," she replied, avoiding his gaze.
"Knowing it's me, you still insist on being the child's godmother. What's your intention?" Ronan's eyes
bore into Cordelia.
"I..." Again, Cordelia found herself at a loss for words.
She wanted to say she wasn't overstepping her boundaries, but she couldn't say a word. Anyone would
overthink this situation and wonder if Cordelia had returned from England just to get back into Ronan’s
arms.
"I'm leaving," she mumbled, her voice barely audible.
Ronan didn't stop her; he had other things to deal with.
After Cordelia left, Ronan picked up his phone. His assistant had messaged him. [Mr. Evans, Deanna
said she needed to pick up something. What could it be?]
[Find out if Tabitha has a child. Buy some clothes and formula for the baby. Make sure they're all top
quality and plenty.]
[Okay,] the assistant replied.
Ronan fiddled with his phone, sitting on the couch.
Callum emerged from his bedroom.
"Why aren't you asleep?" Ronan asked.
"Dad, you're quite the flirt, aren't you? When it was just Uncle Emerson and me at home, you'd get
dressed after your bath. But now that she is here, you strut out in just a towel? She must be smitten,"
Callum teased with a twinkle in his eyes.
"She knocked. I didn't have time to change," Ronan replied, ruffling his son's hair.
"Keep making excuses, Dad," Callum smirked, giving his dad's abs a playful poke.
...
Without being added to Ronan’s Facebook, Cordelia left in defeat.
The fact that Ronan hadn't accepted her friend request made her feel defeated. NôvelDrama.Org owns this.
However, after a few days, Peter created a group and added all the relevant people from their
collaboration, including ten employees from Empower Operations and five from Lumos Enterprises.
Ronan, Emerson, Milana, Wyatt, and the director of operations, Talia.
On the last day of the National Day holiday, Peter posted in the group. [We've signed the agreement for
the land in the southern suburbs. Let's go take a look tomorrow and get the paperwork started after the
holiday.]
Several people responded with thumbs up emojis.
Emerson replied, [I won't be going; I'm back in Millstone, and there's a lot of work to do here.]
[The Audit Department has a big meeting tomorrow. Milana and I can't make it either,] Wyatt added.
In reality, the collaboration with Empower Operations was just one part of Lumos Enterprises' business
and didn't draw much attention within the company. Often, other things would take precedence.
Everyone assumed that with Ronan in Birchwood, he was more than capable of handling things alone.
Ronan didn't respond until Peter tagged him. [@Mr. Evans? Are you going to the site visit?]
[Yes,] Ronan finally replied.
[So it's just you and Talia going tomorrow.]
[Right.]
Cordelia checked the weather forecast for the next day and noticed that it would rain. She always
checked the weather to plan her outfit for the next day.
She chose a pair of thick denim jeans and a white shirt and packed a brown wool cardigan in her bag.
While choosing her outfit, she remembered that Ronan never carried an umbrella. Out of decency, she
should remind him, she thought.
She shared the weather forecast with the group and reminded everyone. [It's going to rain tomorrow.
Don't forget to bring an umbrella.]
After sending the message, she felt like she was overstepping her boundaries, but it was too late to
take it back now.
