Chapter 431
Chapter 431
Professor Dustin was also in the finance department office, serving as a mentor in the investment field.
That also meant he was Harold's mentor.
After greeting Professor Dustin, Cordelia spent half a day discussing the content of the project with
Sally and Sean and assigning tasks.
"Ms. Haselwood, in a few days, it's the finals of the basketball game, and tickets are hard to come by."
Sally winked playfully at Cordelia.
Probably because Cordelia was around the same age as the students, and they looked similar, they
didn’t see her as a teacher.
"Really?" Cordelia knew what Sally meant, implying something about her and Harold.
"If you want to go, I can help you with tickets," Sally offered again. Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!
"I’m not going, and you should be focusing on the project, shouldn't you?" Cordelia tapped the table to
draw Sally's attention.
Sally lowered her head, looking a bit sheepish.
Once the two had left, Cordelia began to pack up her things to leave.
"Cordelia, I heard my grad student Harold is pursuing you." Dustin said.
Now in his sixties, Dustin reminded Cordelia of her grandfather, invoking a sense of familiarity.
"Oh, it’s nothing like that." Cordelia was a bit embarrassed.
"Actually, I quite approve of him doing this, but I fear it might trouble you, so I apologize on his behalf,"
Dustin said with a smile.
Cordelia didn’t know how to respond.
"If he does anything inappropriate, let me know, and I'll correct him," Dustin continued.
Cordelia felt that Dustin seemed quite proud to have a student like Harold. Indeed, the more
knowledgeable the person had, the more unique the thoughts they shared.
Thinking of the teddy bear Harold had given her, identical to Callum's, Cordelia felt less resentment
toward him. After all, Harold thought she was single, and his pursuit was not obsessive or harmful. He
was a well-performing student. Cordelia couldn't bear to hinder his future because of her personal
matters.
"It's fine, Dr. Dustin, thank you," Cordelia said.
"So, you don’t oppose my student pursuing you?" Dustin asked Cordelia again.
"Dr. Dustin, you ……" Cordelia blushed, and was speechless.
Dustin laughed heartily. "I didn’t expect you to be troubled by age and a student-teacher relationship.
Be open."
Cordelia was speechless. She felt that Dr. Dustin had certainly misunderstood her. She decided to tell
Harold about her past, hoping he would back down.
"Dr. Dustin, you wanted to see me?" A young man with a strong male presence entered as Cordelia
and Dustin were talking.
Upon entering, he glanced at Cordelia.
Cordelia quickly gathered her things and left.
"We've been waiting for you all morning. Our project has been approved. Check which part you want to
start on first," Dustin said to Harold.
After Cordelia had left the office, Dustin told Harold, "I just asked Ms. Haselwood, and she doesn’t
really oppose you pursuing her. Seems like you need to step up your game."
"Okay." Harold smiled shyly. When he smiled, he was charming.
"Oh, right, you mentioned wanting to find a job related to your major for the internship. I asked for you.
The CEO of Empower Operations is my classmate, and he agreed to let you join his company, but
because you're a first-year grad student, you can only be an assistant, so get your foot in the door
first." Dustin patted Harold on the shoulder.
"Okay, thank you, Dr. Dustin."
"Oh, and Cordelia is an independent director there, even more convenient for you," Dr. Dustin added
with a grin.
Harold, "Dr. Dustin, you sure are thinking ahead."
Dr. Dustin didn't reply. He just laughed heartily.
