Chapter 418
Chapter 418
Seeing the look on Harold's face, Ronan became curious. He'd heard from Janice that there used to be
quite a few who had sent love letters to Harold, but none of them caught his fancy. He must've had high
standards.
"Spotted someone you fancy?" Ronan asked, his gaze sharp and knowing.
"She just walked past downstairs."
"Isn't that fate?" Ronan teased.
"Let's hope so," Harold replied.
"Is this girl someone you met in undergrad or grad school?" Ronan asked while helping Callum with his
food. Perhaps seeing Cordelia today had suddenly made Ronan interested in other people's love lives.
"Um… she just came to our school." Harold was still engrossed in the sight of her walking past
downstairs, his head lowered.
"A freshman? Or a grad student who just transferred?" Ronan persisted.
"Mr. Evans, are you prying on behalf of my mom? I'll let her know when there's something to tell."
"I'm just personally interested. Is that not allowed?"
Harold chuckled. "Of course it is."
With that smile, no women could resist Harold. Ronan couldn't help but sigh. He was getting old.
Indeed, out with the old, in with the new.
As Ronan was deep in thought, his phone rang. It was Emerson. He knew what Emerson was about to
say, but he answered anyway.
"She didn't go," Emerson said.
"I know."
"You know?" Emerson sounded confused.
"I'll explain later. I'm having dinner now," Ronan said, ending the call.
As he cut into his steak, Ronan thought, Cordelia probably knew that Lumos Enterprises, the partner of
Empower Operations, would have representatives present at the meeting. So, she deliberately avoided
it, and him. Because of these thoughts, he was somewhat distracted during his conversation with
Harold.
When they finished eating, Ronan said to Harold, "Let me know when you've made your move!"
"Sure. I'll not only tell you, but I'll also bring her to meet you."
With Callum in tow, Ronan left.
When he got back to Barney's house, Emerson was already there waiting for him.
"Ronan, what's her deal? You didn't go, and she didn't either." Emerson was all frantic.
"Watch Callum for me. I'm going to take a shower," Ronan said dismissively.
Emerson was left alone, fretting.
Callum sat on the sofa, watching his dad go into the bathroom, and asked Emerson, "Do you know the
phone number of the lady we met today? My dad wants to marry her, and I want to play matchmaker."
Emerson was confused. "Which lady? And since when did your dad consider getting married again?"
"The one we bumped into this afternoon at the front door. She came to Grandpa's house."
Emerson thought carefully. He had called Ronan earlier to tell him that Cordelia didn't go to the
meeting, and Ronan said he knew. Then Callum mentioned meeting a lady at their grandfather's
house. Could it be that Cordelia had come here in the afternoon, and they had run into each other? Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
Aside from her, Emerson couldn't think of anyone else.
At this moment, Emerson was even more excited than Ronan! "Quick, use your dad's phone to call her.
Do you know his passcode?"
Callum whispered to Emerson, "I know it, but my dad doesn't know that I know it. You have to keep it a
secret."
"Okay, hurry up."
Callum glanced at the bathroom, and then dialed the number Emerson had given him. Because of his
job, Emerson knew Cordelia's new number.
