The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 179

Chapter 179

Ronan handed a credit card to Cordelia. "This is a supplementary card for my credit card. You can use

it."

"Do I need to pay it back?" Cordelia asked, batting her eyelashes thoughtfully at Ronan.

"You're turning down five million, so feel free to spend this money."

Cordelia thought to herself, “Well, I'm about to get paid, and once I do, I'll have money. So this credit

card can be a backup.”

"What's the password? I'll jot it down." Cordelia prepared to take out her phone to record the password.

"000215."

"Does this password have any special meaning? So I can remember it." Cordelia asked him.

Ronan was silent for a moment, then said, "It's my birthday."

"Oh, your birthday, I totally forgot." Cordelia pretended to be very surprised. In fact, she didn't forget,

she just never knew. She was afraid Ronan would mock her again for not knowing his age, so she had Nôvel(D)rama.Org's content.

to find an excuse.

"You don't have to pretend. There's a difference between not knowing and forgetting."

His birthday was some day after payday, so, Cordelia still had time to prepare. But what should she get

him for his birthday? She couldn't buy him underwear as a birthday gift because she had already

promised that before.

February 14th was a Friday, and tomorrow was Saturday, Ronan's birthday. Cordelia asked Brooklyn to

accompany her to the mall. They didn't go to Lumos Enterprises this time because it was too expensive

for her now.

They were browsing in the men's department.

"What should I get him?" Cordelia frowned.

It was easy to go from being frugal to being extravagant, but it was hard to go from being extravagant

to being frugal. She felt a financial squeeze.

"Get him a belt. You can use it to keep him in check."

Cordelia thought, “Not a bad idea, and belts aren't expensive. But now she only dared to browse in

some local brand stores. She didn't dare to visit foreign luxury brand stores anymore.”

"Welcome." They had just entered a store when they heard a polite voice from the staff.

Cordelia found the voice familiar. When the staff member looked up, Cordelia realized it was

Samantha. Cordelia instinctively wanted to leave, but then she remembered what her mom said,

Samantha's family was not well-off.

Samantha, after leaving Lumos Enterprises and Adrian’s home, did not return to Roseville but stayed in

Millstone. She wanted to return after making it big, fearing the gap with Cordelia would only grow if she

returned to Roseville. This job was just a temporary stepping stone, allowing her to afford rent and

other expenses. She was looking for a better job.

"Oh, Mrs. Evans, what can I get for you? This is a men's leather goods store, are you shopping for Mr.

Evans?" Samantha's tone was full of sarcasm. Even though she left because of Kendra last time,

Cordelia was also to blame! She hated Cordelia even more now.

Cordelia reluctantly nodded because she knew that the staff got a commission if they sold goods. She

wanted to give Samantha a chance to earn a commission, to supplement her livelihood. After all, they

were cousins.

"How could someone like Ronan like the goods in our store? Shouldn't he like the more luxurious stuff?

Or is it you, who doesn't want Ronan to have nice things?" Samantha thought, “Cordelia must be one

way in front of Ronan and another behind his back, buying cheap goods for Ronan, and keeping the

money in her own pocket. Would a person who could pay three hundred thousand hospital bills at

once, care about a few bucks for a belt?”
