Chapter 366
The hall was bustling with guests. It seemed like everyone had made it. NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.
All eyes were on Noelle as she helped Samuel settle into a quiet corner, with Charles and Sebastian taking seats nearby. The unflappable Charles naturally became the center of attention, and by
association, so did Noelle.
Everyone was whispering about the girl who was helping Samuel. Some knew her and started whispering among themselves that Charles was sitting with Samuel and Sebastian. It looked like the two old men wanted to introduce her to Charles.
Winter and Xavier walked up to them just in time to catch the whispers. They both gripped their glasses tighter, looking upset.
“Grandpa, Granddad, you made it!” Winter said, beaming as she took Xavier’s hand. “Noelle, you’re here too!”
Samuel and Sebastian just nodded and did not say much. Winter stood next to Noelle, smiling wide. “I’m so glad you could come, Noelle.” Then she looked at Charles. “And Charles is here too!”
Noelle gave a tiny shiver, almost losing her composure. She glanced at Winter, then at Charles. Winter was trying to chat with Charles, all smiles, but Charles did not even look at her. Winter felt awkward, and Xavier did too.
Xavier could not take his eyes off Noelle and Charles. He had overheard the whispers earlier, but he refused to believe them. The idea that the Shaw family patriarch would concoct such a scheme
seemed unbelievable. Charles was the kind of man who did not like others poking their noses into his business. However, his current demeanor left Xavier feeling unsure.
“Charles, you’re here too!” Xavier said as he took a glass and filled it with wine for Charles. “I’m so glad you could make it to my wedding.”
Charles gave him a small smile and looked at him. “Congratulations on your wedding!” he said, which was a rare response from him. Then he tapped the table with his long fingers. “I need to drive later, so I’ll pass on more wine. Ronald!”
At Charles’s words, Ronald hurried over. “Mr. Hoffman!
With a discreet glance, Charles signaled Ronald, who quickly pulled a document envelope from his briefcase and handed it to Xavier. “This is Mr. Hoffman’s wedding gift to Mr. Harris and Ms. Shaw!” Xavier and Winter looked at each other before accepting the envelope. “Thank you, Charles!” Charles gave them a slight nod. “Today’s your big day, so go mingle with your guests. Don’t worry about me. I’ll catch up with Sir Shaw and Sir Jones.” With that, Charles did not look Xavier’s way again.
Xavier knew he was being brushed off, and he could not hide his disappointment. He glanced at Noelle, hoping for her attention, but she did not even look his way, which made him even more upset. Still, with all the guests around, he kept his cool.
“Well, Winter and I will go say hi to everyone. Sorry if we’ve been a bit rude.”
Winter stood by Noelle, feeling a little annoyed. It was her wedding, but she felt like she was not the star

of the show for some reason. Noelle should be sad, right? Why did she seem just fine?
“Noelle, it’s my wedding day. Don’t you have any blessings for me?”
Noelle looked up, still holding her cup. Winter’s question made her pause, a flash of surprise in her eyes. Then she smiled and said, “Of course I have blessings for you on your special day.”
