The next day Hailey woke up early even though she was still drowsy because she didn’t sleep well last night thinking about what would happen to them with young Killian once they were together in the same house.

She rolled her eyes a few more times to make sure she had nothing left of her belongings, she was sad to think that she would leave her apartment but she know that it is temporary only and she will go back here soon. She just told the owner of this apartment that she would only go home to her relatives and she will continue to rent this even if she is not staying here for now.

She was in a deep thought when she heard the horn of a car coming from outside so she quickly went to the window to find out who it was. When she saw whose car it was, she went to the door to open it for the person outside.

She saw Killian get out of the car so she approached him. “A-what are you doing here?” She asked

The young man’s eyebrows rose. “Aren’t you moving to my house today? It’s obvious that I am going to pick you up.” He replied and walked into inside of the apartment.

The girl immediately followed him. “What I mean is why you? I thought you said yesterday that you would instructed your driver to picked me,” She said.

“It’s Saturday and I don’t have a job so I just came along, I’m kinda bored.” the young man replied as he rolled his eyes across the house.

“Your apartment is nice and clean. Oh I just forgot that you are a Dominique.” He added

“I don’t want a messy place.”

“Isn’t there anything left? So we can leave now.” Killian asked as he sat on the sofa

“I don’t have many things so I think it’s all packed now and I know I am not  living in your house for long and I’ll come back here too.” Hailey said and the young man nodded

Killian’s driver took Hailey’s belongings and put them in the car and made sure that everyone is already here and no one is left in the girl’s apartment.

While they were in the car Killian suddenly spoke. “Did you work at Tita’s restaurant for a long time?”

“Hhmmm, it’s been a year too,”

“Why did you lie?” He asked while staring at her

“W-what do you mean?”

“Tss! Do I need to repeat my question? I’m asking you why did you change your surname?” He said in full of annoyance

“I didn’t change my surname, I just used my cousin’s last name.”

“Even if you use your cousin’s surname still you lie in the application and to my auntie.” He said

“I don’t have any choice Killian, I don’t want to use my family’s last name. It might make it even harder for me to find a job just in case.”

“Why did you choose to work in a restaurant, when you are already rich you can have a better job or you can work in your own company.” The young man said while looking outside

“I don’t want to. I want to prove to my parents that I can survive even if I don’t use their last name.”

“In short you want to impress them, you want to show them that you can live without them?” He said

“It’s not like that, you know they are still my parents. I just want to live without relying on them.”

“Why did you leave your family and your life?” he asked again.

Hailey just stared, wondering why the man next to her was so gossipy.

“Because it’s necessary and this is what I want. I want to be independent without relying on my family nor may family’s name, I’ve lived with my parents whose deciding everything for me and as time goes on I’m getting tired already.”

The young man looked at her because of what she said. “You run away from your house just to be free, I get it.”

“How about you?”

“They’re in New York  handling our other business.” Killian’s answered

“Well, you’re amazing in everything you do. You’ve been able to grow and keep your company at the top, you are  already famous and known by almost everyone.”

“Sometimes we have to stand on our own two feet, not just for other people but also for our own cause  in the end ourself will be our only allies.” Killian’s voice was weak but the girl could hear it clearly

Hailey was silent and did not speak again but she had in her mind that there was something strange in the young man’s words and she could not believe that Killian has in this words in his mind when she recognized him as a rude and arrogant man.

They soon reached a beautiful, large house. Hailey could hardly believe what she saw, she could not be called a mansion but this house was big.

When the car stopped, Killian quickly got out without even waiting for her.

She got out of the car and she even saw the driver unloading her equipment, she would have helped him but the driver said that he would be the only one to take it inside.

And since she couldn’t do anything, she just went inside, when she was inside she couldn’t see where Killian was. She noticed the driver entering with her belongings so she approached him.

“Ahm, Can I ask a question? Is there anyone else living here?” She asked shyly

The driver, whom she identified as Mang Benny, smiled. “Only sir is the only one living here and also me.”

“He’s the only one here? He doesn’t have a maid?” Do his parents also go home here? ”

“Sir doesn’t want anyone else in his house so he didn’t have a maid and as for his parents they don’t live here, this is Sir Killian’s house. They also have a house in another subdivision and that’s his parents property.” He explained

“But has someone been here before,” She added

“No one, this is his new house. But in his old house there is someone who knows it but Sir sold the house already and buy a new one.” Mang Ben said

“Who?” She asked in curiousity

“Ma’am Chandria, Sir Killian’s ex fiancee.”

Hailey nodded and asked where she would look for Killian because she couldn’t find it when she entered.

“I’ll just take you to your room where you’ll gonna sleep and stay, Sir is probably in his room.”

She immediately followed Mang Ben.

She couldn’t quite imagine how Killian could afford to live in such a big house without a companion. Perhaps the young man is used to it because he is only focusing himself in business.

Hailey thinks that Killian is an ideal man so she can’t figure out why his fiancee left him without saying goodbye.
