Chapter 490

Daisy was startled. Suddenly, her drowsiness disappeared completely. “What did you say?” She asked

with a trembling voice. She stared at the unfamiliar phone number.

A clear male voice came from the other end of the line, seemingly shattering her heart in an instant.

“Remember my name, Wilton.” The man said, and then hung up. Daisy sát in a daze, looking at her

phone. Was that Wilton? What did he say?

It took a moment to sink in. He said if anything happened to his brother, she would pay with her life.

What happened to Frances? Wasn’t he fine last night?

Daisy’s mind was in a whirl. How was this related to her? She got out of bed and quickly got dressed.

But it was already past midnight. She couldn’t possibly go to the Boswell family now. Sitting on the

edge of the bed, her mind was in turmoil, and she couldn’t fall asleep even into the late hours of the

night.

The next morning, Daisy had breakfast and quickly rushed out the door. Rosie called after her, Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

“Where’s the fire?”

Daisy didn’t answer, just grabbed her bag and ran out. She didn’t have a driver’s license, and couldn’t

drive. The driver was going to take Mr. Wyatt to the company later, so Daisy hailed a cab.

She rushed to the Boswell family’s place.

At that moment, Frances was still in the hospital. Mina was in the flower room, trimming branches. Ava

said, “Mr. Wilton came at dawn and took Mr. Frances to the hospital.”

Mina didn’t react, as if she had already guessed. “How is he?”

Ava replied, “Dr. Jade said he’s fine, but needs to stay in the hospital for a few days. But considering

Mr. Frances’s physical condition, even the allergic reaction caused by a small amount of mango would

be a significant blow to his health.”

Mina finished trimming a bouquet of roses, removed the withered petals, and placed it in a beautiful

vase of water, “How lucky he ended up alive.”

She had a faint smile on her face, but her eyes were devoid of joy. “Could you go to the hospital and

check on him for me? It’ll also prevent others from saying that I’m neglecting him.”

Ava nodded, “You’re right.”

The temperature in the flower room was comfortable, but Mina seemed to feel hot. She handed the

scissors to a servant, instructing, “Carefully arrange the flowers. These are roses air-shipped from New

Zealand, Ms. Mina likes them. Put a few in a vase on her drawing desk.”

“Yes,” the servant replied.

Mina went to the terrace to paint. She painted beautifully, as she had been practicing since she was a

child. When she was poor and couldn’t afford a teacher, she would secretly learn from tutors and

practice with water on the ground.

After ten minutes, Ava came over, “Ms. Mina, Ms. Daisy is here.”

Mina lifted her brush, “Let her come here.”

Daisy quickly walked over and asked, “Ms. Mina, how is Mr. Frances now?”

Mina replied, “You know about it too?” This surprised Mina a little, because she hadn’t told Daisy about

Frances’ hospitalization. How did Daisy know about it?

But all of this was within Mina’s expectations, as if everything was under her control.

Daisy hesitated, “I…” She didn’t know how to respond.

Mina was a beautiful and charming woman, but her charm was not soft, but rather like a sharp ice

blade. It didn’t hurt, but it made people feel oppressed and restrained. And now, under Mina’s gaze,

Daisy didn’t want to betray Wilton.
