Chapter 470
Chapter 470
There was a big meeting room on the 8th floor, where doctors and nurses gathered for their meetings.
It could squeeze in a hundred or so of them.
This whole fiasco, though not a big deal, has put a bit of a dent in the hospital’s rep.
Dr. Kenston looked at Jade and said, “Dr. Jade, this hospital ain’t your personal playground for
mischief, you know. As a doc, you gotta get that.”
Hearing this, Jade turned as white as a sheet. She knew she’d overstepped the line.
Thanks to her mom, Dr. Thalia, Jade had a smooth ride into the hospital after graduation, and hardly
experienced any bumps on the road. Now, being called out in public, she was feeling pretty crappy.
“I apologize to everyone, Jade said. “I know I messed up and caused the hospital some grief. I’ll take
the heat for it.”
Allison was also in the room, arms crossed over her chest. “Because of Dr. Jade’s false accusations,
I’ve taken a hit too. I hope the hospital will shoulder some of the blame. I’ll have my lawyer and agent
hash it out with you guys.”
To this, Dr. Kenston said to Allison, “I apologize. This was all down to Dr. Jade’s hot-headedness.”
Allison pursed her lips and glanced at her watch. “I hope the hospital will ramp up on professional
ethics training when you hire docs. It’s not cool for a doc to publicly accuse a patient’s relative. Dr. Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
Dylan and I split long time ago. Dr. Jade and Dr. Dylan broke up, Dr. Jade couldn’t win his affection,
and there’s no need for her to be pissed at me.” Allison’s words were sharp, her voice clear, and her
expression frosty.
Jade jumped to her feet. “Allison! You seduced Dr. Dylan behind my back and caused our break-up,
and you have the nerve to deny it!”
“Why should I admit to something I didn’t do?” Allison’s face became serious, with a hint of authority. “It
was you, Jade, who confessed your feelings to Dr. Dylan before he and I even broke up. Dr. Dylan
rejected you, and everyone at that party saw it. Now that Dr. Dylan and I have broken up, you’re
slinging mud at me. I have a boyfriend now, and he would be really unhappy if he knew about this.”
Dr. Dylan just came out of surgery in the morning and was feeling a bit exhausted. He went to his
resting room to take a breather, then got a call from a nurse saying Jade and Allison were summoned
to the meeting room. He quickly got the lowdown and hightailed it to the meeting room. Just as he
approached the door, he heard Allison’s voice. Her voice was pleasant, very unique. When she was
upset, her voice was like an iced beer straight from the fridge, giving off a chill vibe.
He paused, standing at the door. Just then, Dr. Thalia arrived. As Jade’s mom, she rushed over as
soon as she heard about the ruckus. Both of them pushed open
the door and walked in.
“Dr. Thalia, Dr. Kenston,” said Dr. Dylan. “Sorry, I was in surgery. Didn’t mean to cause you guys
trouble.”
Dr. Kenston, seeing him, said, “Dylan, good thing you’re here.”
Jade looked at Dr. Dylan, her eyes full of affection. “Dylan.”
Dr. Dylan sighed, “Dr. Jade, I remember telling you clearly, we broke up because we weren’t a good
match. I appreciate all your help in the past.”
Jade’s lips lost all color. “Dylan, are you still hung up on Allison? Is it because she seduced you that
you chose to break up with me?”
