Chapter 178
Chapter 178

Alpha Calhoun had not arrived in time to witness Aurora fighting the wolves in human form, but with the mindlink directed at all the warriors, the
response was prompt.
‘Alpha, that is Aurora’s wolf.
Alpha Calhoun was too shocked to continue the fight, only defending against the rogue wolves who directly attacked him.
If Aurora was here, then who was taking care of the elderly like he instructed her? Did she disobey him?
Alpha Calhoun did not realize when the war was over, being lost in thought.
Cheers broke out after the remaining rogues took off for their dear lives.
Aurora had seen Alpha Calhoun in his human form, so without shifting, she dashed towards the pack house.
Alpha Calhoun chased after her, but by the time he got there, she had shifted and changed into casual clothes.
The warriors marched to the pack house, chanting her name by the time Alpha Calhoun could utter a word.
Everyone was happy except the call girls, feeling that Aurora was soon going to be their Luna. They were not liking that.
“Alpha, we want to give Aurora our victory dance. She helped save the pack,” one of the warriors said, and the remaining ones cheered in agreement.
Alpha Calhoun looked around as if he was looking for something. “We don’t know if the elderly are fine. I will go check on them.
“It was clear that he did not want them to do their so–called victory dance or he was just not comfortable leaving Aurora with them.
Also, he was eager to have a word with her and could not be patient any longer.
“They are fine, Alpha,” Linda said, coming from the safe house. Rene was already there with the Omegas before I arrived. She even killed some of the rogues.”
That last part of Linda’s words was too shocking to hear. “Rene cannot even kill a cockroach,” Alpha Calhoun pointed out, but Linda was equally surprised as she shook her head.
“Maybe you should invite her to train with you at the mountain. Isn’t it time everybody gets a chance?” Aurora asked, and because of the skills they saw her portray, she had the warriors‘ support.
However, they did not dare to voice it. “We need to talk,” Alpha Calhoun said and turned around, dragging Aurora with him.
The warriors‘ heads bowed with disappointment as they returned to their homes. It was clear that the Alpha was upset about something, but they hoped he would allow Aurora and everyone else to train with them at the mountain.
“Is there something you have to tell me?” Alpha Calhoun asked when they arrived in the safety of his bedroom, but Aurora was rather confused.
“I don’t understand.”
Alpha Calhoun was pacing back and forth, making her even more confused until he finally revealed. “I saw your wolf. It was green, so how did it change color?”
Aurora panicked slightly. How could he have noticed? ‘You better find a good lie,‘ Nala prompted her.
“Alpha Cal, I think you are imagining things,” Aurora said nervously, balling her fingers to keep them from shivering. But what he said next amazed her as he walked towards her.
“It’s Cal for you.”
“Ha?” Aurora could not understand what he meant or wanted by allowing her to go casual with him. He explained.
“You earned it, so tell me the truth. Who exactly are you?” His gaze was soft as he asked, but he could not get over the feeling that she was hiding something.
“You already know the answer to that question,” she said, but suddenly, his arms wrapped around her waist.
Aurora found his invasion overwhelming, but she could see the love in his eyes. Only if he would confess it to her and break up with Asena, she would be willing to give him a chance.
After all, that was her reason for coming to the Crescent Moon Pack for the fact that he also saved her life.

Suddenly, his thumb brushed her lips, and she shivered as his face drew closer. Before his lips touched her, she quickly pushed him away.
“Look closely. I’m not one of your Cal girls.”
She knew that though he was falling in love with her without feeling the mate bond, he still had a special place in his heart for Asena.
Aurora was not going to share her man with any other woman. Alpha Calhoun’s eyes were filled with desire, but he was not upset.
“Do those even exist anymore?”
Aurora could compliment him for that part but knew that things were not as easy as they seemed.
“Sure, they don’t, but did you forget your fiancé?”
Alpha Calhoun was lost for words, but his inability to admit his feelings for Aurora hurt her even more. She walked out, banging the door behind her.
Alpha Calhoun woke up from whatever trance he was in. “What was I even thinking? I can’t leave Asena. The pack needs her.” His fingers frustratingly ran through his hair.

Through her, Rene found happiness in the pack ever since her strength was discovered, and though she trained with the warriors.
As for Aurora, she went to the mountain with them sometimes but only with Alpha Cal around, as he was still protective of her.
Today was her fake name’s birthday, but only Rene knew about it. Aurora was on her way to Rene’s tiny house to celebrate her birthday in the evening when she heard someone wailing.
Aurora paused and began to search for the source of the voice, which was not hard to locate.
“Who’s there?” she called out, but only another wail followed, but this time, she saw the person and quickly ran to him, squatting beside him.
“What is the problem? Are you hurt?” She was disturbed, looking at the boy’s legs, which did not look normal.
The boy, who looked like a teenager, stared into her eyes with unshed tears. “I can’t move.”
Aurora began looking around nervously, in case it was a trap, but why did the boy look so familiar?
