The Adorable Twins and Their CEO Daddy

Chapter 581

Chapter 581

The man dressed in the gray overcoat was tall, handsome, and looked put together. He gave off an air of sophistication and virtue.

When he entered the room, everyone felt an air of authority around him. It made people tread carefully in his presence.

Jonathan paused for a moment after hearing the assistant’s question. His eyes glanced at the poster of Maurice hanging outside of the airport. Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.

“I wonder… is that Maurice?” he murmured bitterly to himself. His stoic face was laced with bitterness.

“Mr. Bowman?” the assistant addressed him tentatively.

Jonathan still hadn’t responded.

He looked away from the poster before replying, “That’s not necessary. Ask her to come and see me face to face.”

“But…” The assistant seemed hesitant and embarrassed to continue. “Miss Pierce hasn’t been in contact with us for some time. I’m worried that…” he finally said after a few moments of hesitation.

Jonathan’s brows furrowed at his words. “Find a way to make it happen! Also, we need to watch Maurice now that we’ve lost contact with Eliana. Since he once took Eliana away and imprisoned her for some time, I’m going to bet he’ll prevent me from seeing her. He’s a dangerous man.”

“I understand, Mr. Bowman.”

The assistant had no choice but to do as Jonathan wished.

After that, they didn’t speak another word.

In his head, Jonathan was muttering curses as he gazed at the strange city sprawling in front of him.

Now that he was back, he believed that there was nowhere for Eliana to run away this time.

The morning after that, Eliana woke up early to bring the children to school.

While Eliana was freshening up, Adrian entered the bathroom. Dark circles were visible underneath his eyes.

“Adrian, what were you doing last night?” Eliana asked as she took in his sleep deprived state. “Did you have trouble sleeping?”

Adrian couldn’t tell her why he didn’t get much sleep last night. The truth was, he was waiting for Jonathan’s reply. He stammered, “I’m fine, Mommy. I…I had a nightmare last night.”

Eliana believed him and didn’t push further. She packed up their belongings and brought them to the kindergarten.

Adrian was silent on the drive there. His mind was far away even while he was in class.

Aileen could tell that her brother was acting strange. “Adrian, is something wrong?” she asked tentatively. “You’ve been acting weird since you woke up this morning,” she continued.

“Aileen…”

Adrian wanted to confess to his sister that he contacted Jonathan. However, he suddenly remembered that his sister was fond of Maurice.

Aileen would be furious with him when she discovered he had texted Jonathan behind her back and asked Jonathan to take Maurice away from them.

He hesitated as he tried to figure out how to explain himself.

“Aileen, are you sure you like Silas’ uncle?” he finally asked.

“Are you talking about Mr. Moran?” Aileen’s eyes lit up at the mention of Maurice. “Of course! I like him a lot,” she exclaimed without hesitation.

“Why? What’s so great about him?” Adrian probed.

“He’s a handsome man, and he’s always been nice to me. He even gave me a hug and gifted me flowers.”

Aileen counted all the kind gestures Maurice had done for her on her little fingers.

Adrian interrupted her and asked, “Isn’t Mr. Bowman also an attractive man who treated you well? Don’t you like him?”

Aileen was surprised to hear her brother mention Jonathan. Her eyes dropped to the floor as she thought about his question. After a few moments, she responded, “It’s not that I don’t like Mr. Bowman. He’s also a good man. Mommy doesn’t seem to like him, though. I think she prefers Mr. Moran to Mr. Bowman. I like whoever Mommy likes!”

Adrian was taken aback by her words. He couldn’t deny the truth in her words. There was nothing else he could do but sigh in frustration.

It was Jonathan’s fault that he failed to win their mother’s heart!

Eliana rushed to the factory after dropping the twins at school.

Little did she know someone was following her.

As she was about to enter the factory, a crowd appeared out of nowhere and blocked her path.

When Eliana noticed the large group of men dressed in all black blocking her way, her heart lurched in her chest. She held her breath in fear.

Eliana was terrified by the familiar scene.

Damn it! Someone was trying to kidnap her again!
