Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance

Chapter 310

Chapter 310

Andre thought for a while, then ultimately nodded, saying, "You've got a point."

Cooper wasn't surprised or pissed. If Andre denied it, he wouldn't be Andre.

Andre thought about his lazy but cute wife, and said, "If I hadn't been pushed into marriage, I might not

have known your sister. If I were to match my wife's identity with mine, I should have picked a career-

oriented woman who shares similar personality traits with me. A lazy, troublemaking, and money-loving

woman doesn't fit the bill. Not just you, but also many others, think the same. It's nothing new to me.

“People usually think a good marriage is when both partners have similar backgrounds, careers, and

thoughts. That way they have something to talk about and the marriage can last long. But I know very

well that for someone like me, the most suitable person for marriage can only be a partner in business,

never a real partner in life. If two workaholics who don't care about family life get married and live

together, there's only one outcome - our household will be cold and so will our relationship. What's the

point of such a marriage then? Am I just finding a competitor for myself? Don't I have enough

competitors in my real life?"

Cooper kept quiet, allowing Andre to continue.

Andre went on, "I'm a successful man, and your sister is a homemaker. I don't need her help in my

career, and I don't need her to take care of me at home. To me, children are a gift from God, and even

if she can't take care of the kids, I can. Marriage should be equal, but even if it's not equal with Mia, I'd

be okay with it. I can't keep her young and beautiful forever, but I can make sure she's happy every

day. She's got a terrible temper, and she loves to stir up trouble. But she never causes big ones. Also,

she treats me well, and that's enough. People who are too disciplined need someone to ease their

tense life, and people who are too lazy need a disciplined person to lead them. Her virtues are not

visible to see at first, only the heart can feel them."

Probably, she was the only person in the world who understood him best. And she was the only person

who could influence him.

Cooper then said, "There will be more and more girls who are beautiful and better than her. By the time

she no longer attracts you, she'll be the one you abandon. If you meet another woman and dump my

sister, she'll have nothing."

"All your worries are about fear of the future. What you're worried about won't happen. Mia already has

half of my shares. Even if we can't be together in the future and get divorced, she'll still get a hefty

amount of wealth from me. If you're still not reassured, just watch. If one day, Mia loses herself by my

side, then you can take her away from me."

Cooper said, "I'll remember what you said today. I don't care about your money. I just want two people,

my sister and her child."

Andre cracked a smile.

"What are you laughing at?" Cooper asked.

Andre said, "You and your sister are both stubborn, but you care about each other."

They sat on the chairs next to each other, and Andre asked, "What's your take on the school situation?" Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

"I want to go back home, I don't want to stay abroad anymore." Cooper said.

"I've seen your grades. You totally have a shot at top-tier universities abroad. Why do you want to go

back home?" Andre asked.

Cooper countered, "Leo also has good grades, why don't you let him study abroad, but have him stay

in the country?"

Andre answered, "I'm teaching him personally, so there's no need for him to go abroad."

Cooper realized that he seemed to lack an uncle who could guide him.

In the afternoon, Cooper shared his thoughts with Andre.

As a listener, Andre looked at his brother-in-law who was laying out his thoughts clearly. Andre sighed,

this kid was really something. He chuckled lightly, his eyes full of affection when he looked at Cooper.

Mia was worried that the two would argue. She quietly opened the door, and prepared to tip-toe away

when the two returned.

Cooper didn't say anything, so Mia quickly moved to her husband's side.

Dinner was ready. The family sat down at the dining table.

Cooper seemed to be pondering something in his heart. He said, "Mom, Dad, I'm flying back to school

the day after tomorrow. You don't have to give me any allowance this time."

Aaron asked, "Cooper, is there something urgent at school that you have to go back?"

Madison was concerned about his allowance, "If you don't want the money, you'll be helpless if

something happens to you abroad."

Mia subconsciously looked at her husband, and Andre immediately changed glances with his wife.

Seeing the worried looks on his parents' faces, Cooper said, "Then just give me my allowance as

usual." He didn't need the money. But at least if he took his parents' money, they would feel more at

ease at home.

At the table, Mia asked him, "Cooper, weren't you against studying abroad?"

Cooper glanced at Andre then said to Mia, "I'll tell you my final decision in half a year."

After dinner, Cooper went to pack his bags.

Mia pulled her husband back to their room, and asked curiously, "Honey, what did you and Cooper talk

about? Why is he suddenly going back to school?"

"Mia, let me ask you, why doesn't Cooper want to study abroad?" Andre asked.

This question left Mia speechless. Why indeed?

Andre laughed, "You guys never really listened to Cooper's thoughts. Every time he expressed his

thoughts, you opposed him. Your dad's dream is to expand the company worldwide because the

market will be bigger. Your mom would listen to him, and under their influence, you think studying

abroad is better for Cooper. So every time Cooper expressed himself to you, you often would ignore

him."

Mia bit her lower lip and said, "Honey, I think I never really talked to Cooper about this."

After listening to her, Andre told Mia what he said to his brother-in-law.

Mia asked her husband, "You two were out and talked so long. What did you discuss about?"

"Cooper said you're not good enough for me." Andre said.

Mia suddenly got all worked up. She said, "Where's that baseball bat? I'm gonna whack him!"

Andre replied, "I told him, you have every right to be with me." He told Mia the conversation he had with

his brother-in-law.

After hearing this, Mia pondered seriously, then asked, "Honey, if one day I really was abandoned,

would you let Cooper take me away? Why do I have a feeling that I can't fully trust you?"

"Absolutely not." Andre gently twirled a strand of Mia’s hair, his fingers lightly brushing her cheek. He

looked at her familiar face, saying, "Even in death, we'll share the same coffin."

Mia was speechless. Why did this suddenly sound so creepy?

Not long after, Mia's bedroom door was opened again. Cooper said, "Why do you guys keep your door

shut during the day? The air flows better with the door open."

Mia glanced at the window, which was gradually darkening. She then looked at her brother at the door,

and finally at Andre, "You still couldn't convince your brother-in-law."

Cooper then said, "My sister is pregnant. You two should live separately."
