Chapter 970 Stoop To Your Level
“Originally, there was no animosity between us, and I shouldn't have been ruthless towards you. But
now, you're blocking my path, so I have no choice but to send you to the abyss,” Eunice declared.
Blaze narrowed her eyes, her brow furrowing as she inquired, “How have I impeded your path?”
With a sly smile, Eunice intentionally revealed the mark on her neck, saying, “These past few days, I've
been inseparable from Kurt. He promised me that once everything is settled, he would marry me and
make me the matriarch of the White family. Your existence is nothing but an impediment in my path,
isn't it? I'm not foolish enough to let my future husband support a woman who could potentially threaten
my position in the future.”
Blaze responded to this revelation with a cold, bitter laugh.
Is this what that man calls profound love? I haven't been with him for long, and he's already been
intimate with another woman. This kind of affection, cheap and laughable, is even less valuable than a
stone.
“Ms. Rogers, thank you for explaining so much to me. If you want to kill or torture me, feel free to
proceed; there's no need for all this superfluous talk.”
Blaze knew she couldn't personally end Kurt's life, and while it was somewhat regrettable, she believed
that Bailey and the others wouldn't let him escape justice.
Her only regret was that she couldn't make Cameron fall in love with her before her impending demise.
Is that man really getting married? Never mind. I've become such a gruesome sight; I'm no longer
deserving of him. For him to find a pure-hearted and pure-bodied woman to share his life with is truly
fortunate, and more importantly, it's what I truly wish for.
A fragrant wave drifted towards Blaze's nose, causing her breathing to quicken.
The exact components of this sedative fragrance were unclear, but upon inhalation, it depleted oxygen,
leading to suffocation and eventual death.
Blaze's pupils slowly widened. She made no effort to resist, simply closing her eyes and awaiting the
embrace of death.
In reality, death was a form of release for her, as she no longer held any attachments to this world.
The reason she had clung to life until now was a phone call she had received.
Cameron had personally confessed his feelings for her, leaving a trace of concern and hope in her
heart that had sustained her. But now that her hope had been extinguished, she had nothing left to hold
onto in this world.
Death had become her inevitable destination.
Maybe with her passing, that man could finally find peace, having a fulfilling marriage with his wife. He
wouldn't have to worry about her reemerging to disrupt his family.

Just then, a loud thud, like a heavy object hitting the ground, broke through her fading consciousness.
Then, a rush of air filled her body, dispelling the suffocating sensation that had taken hold.
She slowly opened her eyes to a scene where Eunice lay overturned on the ground, and Kurt stood by
the bed, wearing a grim expression as he glared at her.
“Eunice, I tolerate your audacity in my presence only out of respect for your father and brothers.
Without their protection, what significance do you hold in my eyes? Yet now, you dare to harm the
woman I love. Are you seeking your own demise? Or perhaps you believe that in the eyes of your
father and brothers, you are more valuable than the partnership between me and them? Tell me, do
you believe that I can eliminate you without any protest from your family?”
Eunice hung her head, her body limp on the floor. Her hand clenched into a fist on the ground.
She had been so close, just moments away from success. If she had only had a few more seconds,
that wretched woman on the bed would have met her end.
But she couldn't despair; there was still time ahead, countless opportunities to deal with Blaze.
“I was momentarily overcome by jealousy and confusion. I promise it won't happen again, Mr. White.
Please, find it in your heart to forgive me,” Eunice pleaded.
Kurt continued to glare at her, his voice stern. “Get out of here! From now on, without my explicit
permission, you are forbidden from setting foot in the main house! If you dare to defy my orders again,
I'll show you the true meaning of wishing for death. No one else has the right to trample on what
belongs to me.”
Suppressing the surging pain within her body, Eunice clenched her teeth and managed to rise. She
cast a deep, lingering glance at Blaze before turning on her heels and rushing out of the room.
As Eunice departed, Blaze couldn't resist a scornful remark, “She's a woman who once shared a
fleeting romance with you... Her family is also aiding you, yet you show such heartlessness. Aren't you
concerned about breaking the poor girl's heart?”
Kurt suddenly turned toward Blaze, narrowing his eyes as he retorted, “You appear quite pleased that
we've been intimate. Blaze, haven't you a single trace of sentimentality for me? I've supported you for
so many years; even the coldest heart would have warmed by now.”
Blaze let out a mocking laugh, her smile filled with contempt. “Would you ever grow attached to an
animal? If you did, it would only prove how much you demean yourself. I'm a human, and I refuse to
lower myself to the level of an animal.”
Kurt's expression darkened, a trace of malevolence subtly emanating from his furrowed brows, his
anger simmering.
“Your period has ended, hasn't it? In that case, let's take our time to reminisce, shall we?”
Blaze's face paled, a flicker of fear flashing across her eyes.
Her timid response triggered Kurt, who was by the bedside, and in an instant, his cruelty flared. At this
moment, all he wanted was to torment her relentlessly, to push her to her limits.
Seeing him draw near, Blaze clenched her teeth and taunted, “Didn't you mention using a sedative on
me, controlling my perception, making me see you as Cameron? Where is the drug?”
Let's bring this to an end tonight. If he dares to drug me, I'll pretend to be drugged. Then, once he lets
his guard down, I'll seize the opportunity to kill him.
Kurt sneered, gripping her chin tightly, his voice chilling as he said, “I prefer to see you struggle in pain
rather than see you willing. That way, I can savor a sense of accomplishment. So, there's no need for
that stupefying drug. Besides, I want you to bear my child. If we use it, my offspring will no longer be
exceptional.”
“
After he finished speaking, he promptly took action.
Blaze's pupils contracted intensely.
She had made a mistake; she shouldn't have provoked this man. If she hadn't, he wouldn't have
become so enraged, and certainly not unleashed the ferocious determination she now saw.
Once he willingly approached her and made her take the stupefying drug, that would be her chance to
strike and kill him.
But now...
“Kurt, there will come a day when I tear you into a thousand pieces and scatter your ashes to the wind.”
Dusk fell over the Rogers castle, and inside Catherine's room, a tense atmosphere prevailed.
The strategist voiced the grim reality, “Ms. Catherine, the current situation is dire. Most of the family's
power rests in Mr. Broderick's hands. Our resources are too scattered to effectively challenge him.”
Catherine, after contemplating the strategist's words, responded resolutely, “To apprehend a gang, you
must first capture their leader. We must devise a plan to seize Wilbur and then employ him as leverage
against the first branch.”
“But what if Mr. Broderick decides to abandon Wilbur? Capturing him might render us with a useless
bargaining chip. We may still need to confront Mr. Broderick directly.”
Catherine's determination hardened as she enunciated her words, “In that case, we shall resort to the
next best strategy. When the time arrives, we will use Wilbur's life as a bargaining tool to negotiate with
Broderick. We will request that he permits us to depart from the Rogers family, even if it means giving
up the position of the family head.”
The revelation left those assembled in shock.
“Ms. Catherine, are you implying that you are willing to forego the pursuit of power?”
