Chapter 909 Tonight Marks Your End
Artemis looked at his wife with a pitiful expression. “Bailey, why don't you just behave yourself and stay
at home? Since Zeke dares to go, he must have thought of a strategy to deal with it. Rather than you
taking risks, he chose to intervene, even if it meant risking a rift with Juliana. For him, that was the best
choice.”
Bailey reached out to encircle Artemis' arm, laughing as she said, “Ever since Cameron got poisoned
when he tried to save me last time, I've decided against meeting Zoey. Artemis, I don't want my
impulsiveness to cause any more harm to those around me. You make a good point, and so does
Zeke. It might be better if he goes instead of me attending the meeting. After all, he and Zoey have
been siblings for over twenty years, so there's still some affection between them. I believe she wouldn't
harm him, so he's the best one to go.”
Artemis breathed a sigh of relief, his hand encircling her waist as he chuckled lightly. “It's rare to see
you compromise truly surprises me. I understand that not being able to confront Zoey directly will be a
great regret in your life, but your safety is paramount.”
Bailey couldn't help but laugh, sizing herself up. My current physical condition is so frail that I wouldn't
even be able to protect myself if I encountered any danger. If I were to put myself in danger again, it
would seem pretentious. Because of my capriciousness, in the end, those around me always pay the
price. I can't afford to throw tantrums and let others face the consequences.
“Actually, upon careful consideration, it's quite good to let Zeke go to the appointment. If Zoey really
hands over that confidential document to Zeke, the final decision rests in Zeke's hands. No matter how
he handles that document, it reflects his attitude toward his own love. Since this is the path he has
chosen, there should be no regrets. As his family, all we can do is silently support him,” Bailey uttered.
Artemis held her tightly in his arms, chuckling lightly. “It's good that you've figured it out.”
In the evening, at Juliana's residence, she received a phone call when she was in the study. Suddenly,
she leaped up from the sofa.
“Really? Have you really found out where Archie is?” she asked.
“Yes, Ms. Juliana, we have subdued the bodyguard originally sent to Pandera to capture Archie. From
what he described, after they brought the person to Moranta, they settled in Bruiville. Then he further
narrowed down the area for us, and finally, we found a secret chamber within his outlined boundaries.
The detector has picked up signs of human respiration. I'm guessing it must be the Hoffman family. Ms.
Juliana, I've taken control of Mr. Tucker's men. They might notice soon and then move on. It's your call.
Should we take this risk, even though we're not a hundred percent certain?”
Juliana took a deep breath. The confidential document ended up in the hands of Zoey. That woman,
having sparred countless times with the master, despite repeated defeats, had long since honed her
skills to perfection. I think this woman could potentially be even more sinister and ruthless than Sofie.
The object in her hand is a ticking time bomb. If not destroyed in time, who knows what might happen?
After a moment of silence, she gritted her teeth and said, “Then let's gather our forces. We'll take action
tonight. We must rescue Archie at all costs. Only he can destroy that confidential document.”
“Yes. I will go and make the arrangements immediately.”
After ending the call, Juliana held her phone in silence for a moment.
She was hesitating whether to call her master and ask for her help.
After careful consideration, she still chose to give up on the idea. If I can't handle small matters like
saving Archie and need Master to step in and help me, how am I going to manage a huge family in the
future?
This time, she was determined to solve the matter independently, without relying on anyone else.
She was determined to prove to everyone that she was no longer the mischievous and willful girl she
once was.
Eight o'clock in the evening, the sky had completely darkened, leaving the outside world shrouded in
pitch black.
Tucker sat on the sofa, raising an eyebrow as he looked at the notebook before him.
On the screen, a woman in a tight-fitting outfit flipped over the southwest wall of the building.
The personal bodyguard said, “Mr. Hoffman, Juliana has already left the family home. She must have
gone to meet her subordinates. Would you like to go and see for yourself?”
Tucker slowly rose from the couch, a sinister smile on his face. “One is my younger brother, the other,
my cousin,” he sneered. Tonight is their time to die, and as their elder brother, it's only natural that I see
them off on their journey.”
“Yes. I will prepare the car right away.” Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.
After sneaking out of the castle, Juliana headed straight to the meeting place she had arranged with
her subordinates.
That was a small grove in Bruiville, not far from the secret chamber where Archie was held captive.
“Ms. Juliana, that area is primarily for selling building materials, so it's quite remote. It's surrounded by
warehouses of all sizes. After assessing the geographical location, it's perfect for our surprise attack.
After rescuing Mr. Archie, we can escape through this forest toward the mountains,” her subordinate
said.
Juliana nodded, accepting the binoculars from his hand. After scanning the surroundings, she lowered
her head to check the time on her wristwatch.
It was already nine o'clock on the dot.
All the stores had closed down, with the lights inside going out one after another.
Once the last glimmer of light had vanished, she lowered her voice and commanded, “Take action.”
In the next moment, twenty to thirty people darted out like ghosts.
A moment later, the sound of metal clashing echoed in the darkness, followed by the air filling with the
scent of blood.
The head bodyguard, who was with Juliana, suddenly halted his steps, his expression instantly turning
icy.
Juliana also noticed something unusual and quickly asked, “Flipper, what's wrong?”
Flipper said in a deep voice, “Something's not right. There are many unfamiliar presences around us.
Judging by the situation, it seems we are surrounded.”
A sudden heaviness settled in Juliana's heart. “Are you saying we've been discovered?”
Before the head of the bodyguards could speak, a mocking voice rang out, heavy with sarcasm.
“Oh, Juliana. Juliana, you think too highly of yourself. With your limited abilities, do you really believe
you can find Archie, that little troublemaker, all on your own? Calling you a fool would be an
understatement, yet you refuse to admit it. You've fallen into my trap, and there you are, basking in
your own ignorance. You're at the mercy of others. Tonight will be your end.”
Juliana's body shuddered violently twice, her hands hanging by her side clenched into fists. I'm not
stupid. How can one not understand the meaning of those words? So, Tucker meticulously planned all
of this just to set me up for disaster. It's amusing that I thought the time had come to prove myself. Little
did I know, I was merely a pawn tightly held in someone else's hand.
In the next instant, a blinding light exploded before her eyes. All the lights around lit up, turning the
pitch-black night as bright as day.
Tucker emerged from behind a group of bodyguards and scoffed. “After all these years of learning from
Bailey, you're still so foolish. What makes you think you can compete with me?”
