Suddenly There Are Three (Bailey and Artemis)

Chapter 1017 Be Ruthless When Necessary

When she was done speaking, she turned to Simon and said fiercely, “Since you've returned, go to the shrine and reflect on your actions.”

Simon immediately stomped his foot before complaining, “Didn't my brother also get someone pregnant and then proceeded to ignore her for

seven years? If you think I'm a scumbag, he's far worse than me. After all, I accidentally had one child, and he accidentally had three. Why are

you not sending him to the shrine instead?”

As a response, Felicity tossed him a sharp glare. “You scoundrel. Have you grown bold enough to disrespect me now that you're older? Your

brother does not get close to other women and saves his body for only your sister-in-law. What about you? You've somehow got your eyes on

another girl in the midst of it all! Now, if she were kind, perhaps I could let it slide, but from what I've heard, she's scheming and pretentious,

and she almost caused harm to my future daughter-in-law and precious granddaughter!”

Huffing, Felicity continued, “Even after all that, you still keep that two-faced woman by your side, causing Catherine to be upset. Do you still

think you don't deserve to be sent to the shrine?”

Simon was at a loss for words. Content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

He was so frustrated by the false accusations that he no longer wished to explain himself to Felicity.

He felt so wronged.

Mom believes Artemis does not get close to other women and saves his body for only Bailey. Who's to say I didn't do the same?

Even though Simon had dated Aisley for three years, the most they had done in their relationship was holding hands. They had never had any

intimate physical contact at all.

Seeing Simon rooted to the ground like a stump, Felicity scolded again, “What are you still waiting for? Do I need to call someone to drag you

there?”

Simon merely remained silent.

Darting his eyes around in search of an escape, Simon finally landed his eyes on Luna, who was behind him. At the sight of her, his eyes

suddenly lit up.

He quickly sneaked his daughter a meaningful look, signaling her to soothe Felicity.

Flashing Simon a grin, Luna hurried out from behind Simon and looked at Felicity with an innocent smile. With a soft and sweet voice, she

asked meekly, “Grandma, is the Luther family always this strict? Would everyone be sent to kneel at the shrine for every small misdeed? If

that's the case, I really need to reconsider whether I should stay here long-term. After all, I love to cause mischief. There wouldn't be enough

time in the world for me to kneel in punishment for all the troubles I might cause while playing.”

Felicity was taken aback. After she had kissed Max, Zayron, and Susan, her attention was drawn to Catherine, who was pushed forward by

Simon. She hadn't noticed the little girl behind them.

Now that Luna had caught her attention, Simon and Catherine were no longer of any interest to her. All Felicity could see was the little girl

looking up at her with a smile as beautiful as a blooming flower.

The child standing in front of her was none other than the little princess of the Luther family.

“Oh, my precious grandbaby, even if you were to tear off the roof of the Luther residence, I would never punish you by making you kneel in

the shrine!” Felicity doted.

Luna no longer knew what to say, while Simon gaped at the blatant favoritism.

A huge grin graced Felicity's face as she bent over to hug her little granddaughter, who had been tormented by parasitic worms for years. She

was smiling so broadly that her mouth couldn't close, and her eyes were welling up with tears.

“Gerald, look! We have another granddaughter, another little treasure.”

Gerald's eyes were also slightly red as a thin mist of tears blurred his sight.

In the past, he had been obsessed with Waverly for a very long time, neglecting his wife and children in the meantime.

Yet, at that very moment, he realized that he, too, had a house full of children and grandchildren.

As Gerald reflected on the past, everything started to blur. The youthful stirrings of the heart had gradually faded by the effects of time.

“L-Luna. Your name is Luna, isn't it?” Gerald croaked.

The little girl grinned and replied with impeccable manners, “Yes, Grandpa, my name is Luna.”

Even though it wasn't the first time he had been called “grandpa,” Gerald still couldn't help but shed tears of excitement.

After a moment of frolicking with his grandchildren, Gerald finally let his laughter subside.

Turning his head towards his two sons, he said, “Let your mother accompany them to their quarters. You two come with me to the study. I

have something to ask you.”

“Okay.”

After Gerald left with Artemis and Simon, Felicity led Catherine and the young children toward the main house.

“Cath, right? Although I've never met you, I've heard from Caridee that you're an exceptional young lady. That makes sense. Considering how

high and mighty Bay is, you two must share similar interests and temperaments to be friends.”

Felicity gave Catherine a warm smile. “I've heard about what has happened to the Rogers family. Cheer up, child. Consider this place your

home, and think of me as your own mother.”

In some ways, Felicity found Catherine's experience very similar to Bailey's. Both women were deeply hurt by their own family.

If Felicity could regard Bailey as her own daughter, naturally, she could treat Catherine with the same impartiality.

Ever since Catherine left the Rogers family, she had become much more gentle. After hearing Felicity's heartfelt words, Catherine was moved

to her core.

Taking the initiative to link arms with Felicity, Catherine grinned. “Bailey told me how much you adore her. Truthfully, I was quite envious.

However, now that I'm here today, I no longer feel envious, because I know you will love me just as much.”

Felicity laughed heartily. Nothing in this world could excite her more than her sons finding themselves a wife they truly loved.

Previously, Felicity used to blame Waverly, thinking that the latter had ensnared her husband's heart, causing a rift in their marriage.

As she aged, she managed to come to terms with many things, especially after being surrounded by grandchildren. The grudges and

grievances of the past have gradually been let go.

In the past, she would have never believed that her son would one day marry Waverly's daughter.

Yet, as it came to show, it was nothing short of a blessing for Artemis to have met Bailey. Meeting Bailey had thwarted the ice in his heart,

allowing him to no longer be cold and indifferent. Not only had Bailey changed Artemis' life, but she had also been a blessing to the Luther

family.

Meanwhile, Bailey conducted a thorough medical examination on Veronique and confirmed that all the cancer cells in Veronique's body had

been completely eradicated. Only then did Bailey allow herself to sigh a breath of relief.

“I heard that Justin is getting married to Scarlett in three days. Don't you feel jealous?” Bailey asked.

“It's not like they're actually getting married, so why should I be jealous? Scarlett has done so many terrible things. She has to face the

consequences eventually. This wedding is nothing but a prepared grave for her. Regardless of whether she lives or dies afterward, she will

never escape the torment of suffering in this lifetime.” Veronique shrugged nonchalantly.

Bailey smiled in response. She had been away from Hallsbay for several months. To her surprise, Veronique appeared to be more gentle, yet

her heart had hardened.

Bailey believed it to be a good thing. As a woman, one should be gentle when it's time to be gentle and be ruthless when necessary.

Seeing that Bailey was no longer speaking, Veronique glanced out the window at the sky and smiled. “It's almost lunchtime. Let me ask

someone to prepare—”

“I have things to attend to, so I won't stay and disturb your rest.” Before Veronique could finish speaking, Bailey immediately cut her off with

a wave. “Once you've recovered, we'll have a proper drink together,” she offered instead.

Knowing that Bailey had just returned and still had a lot of issues to deal with, Veronique did not insist further after Bailey's refusal. “Be

careful on the road. Even though you're back in Hallsbay, those people you've offended in the past probably haven't given up yet. Don't let

your guard down.”

“Mm-hmm.”

After leaving the guesthouse, Bailey didn't return to the Luther residence. Instead, she headed straight for the Chivers residence.

If asked who she missed the most while abroad, it had to be Edmund.

Edmund was such an astonishingly talented individual. He had always been gentle and courteous with a brilliant personality. Yet, she had been

his demise.

Bailey originally thought that Lindsey Carter was an exuberant lady. She had thought that Lindsey's cheerfulness would be able to warm

Edmund's heart, allowing Lindsey to be the woman to walk him out of the darkness that consumed him.

Unfortunately, Lindsey turned out to be quite impulsive. She had gone to Moranta to meddle in the affairs between Bailey and Shaun, hoping

to use Shaun to get rid of Bailey. It had led to an unhappy ending.

Bailey sighed miserably.

When she found herself face to face with Gwendolyn upon arriving at the Chivers residence, Bailey could not look her in the eye.

She still remembered the first time they had met. She was being falsely accused by Rhonda of poisoning Maxton and Zayron. It was

Gwendolyn who spoke up for her.

Unfortunately, fate had other plans.

Not only did Bailey not marry Edmund, but she had led him to his downfall as well.

“I'm so sorry, Mrs. Chivers.”
