Chapter 736
Sebastian's mood was as dark as a storm cloud. "Look into it. Whether it's Rebecca or Janetta, and don't leave out the Kleins," he said with a brooding intensity. Martin looked surprised. "The Kleins? But isn't Ms. Bishop the illegitimate daughter of the Klein family?"
Sebastian glanced at him with a cool detachment and remained silent.
The message was clear: just do as you're told, no need for unnecessary chatter.
Martin knew Sebastian was in a foul mood and didn't dare to linger and risk further ire.
After all, Stephanie had run into trouble last night and he hadn't even mentioned it to Sebastian.
The online scandal about Stephanie with a young hunk in the parking garage hadn't been explained to Sebastian from yesterday to today either.
It was easy to imagine how terrible Sebastian felt.
Meanwhile, Stephanie, oblivious to the storm brewing, took Emily to the set to shoot her scenes for the day.
She noticed that as soon as Emily finished one lollipop, she pulled another one out of her pocket.
"Where did you get all this candy?" Stephanie asked, surprised.
Emily grinned. "Sullivan bought them for me."Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.
Stephanie snorted with laughter. "Why on earth would Sullivan suddenly start buying you candy?"
"He wanted to. I didn't asked him for it."
"You should stop, too much sugar is bad for your teeth."
"I brush every morning and night; I'm not scared!"
"That's not the point, you could still get cavities."
"Then I'm not scared! If I get all cavities, I'll just pull all my teeth out and get gold ones like Emmert," Emily proclaimed confidently.
Emmert, who was busy adjusting the camera, overheard and couldn't help but interject, "You think getting gold teeth is that easy?"
He envied the young ones with their strong teeth. They were just not aware of how lucky they were.
"Let's get ready, people. We roll in five minutes!"
"Got it, Grandpa."
Stephanie was even more surprised by the change in Sullivan's behavior towards Emily. After wrapping up a scene, the two of them would huddle together, whispering.
As soon as she approached, they fell silent.
Stephanie was baffled. Was she being left out?
Little did she know, Emily and Sullivan were discussing Gracie's situation.
Sullivan was analyzing for her why it couldn't be the same people involved. Emily listened intently, nodding in agreement. Feeling excluded, Stephanie wandered over to Emmert.
"Emmert, look at them, always
whispering together. The moment walk over, they clam up. And Sullivan keeps giving Emily candies. When did they get so chummy?"
Emmert glanced over at them, his gaze tinged with complexity. "Remember Gracie mentioned Emily had a difficult past and asked me to look out for her, right?"
"Yeah, Emily used to be severely autistic, barely interacted with anyone."
Emmert raised his eyebrows. "So, it's just two kids with autism playing together. Don't worry about it."
Stephanie blinked. "What do you mean, Emmert? It's not what I'm thinking, is it? Sullivan was autistic too?"
"Mhm, Sullivan's always been a bit of a loner. Aside from acting, he rarely enjoys socializing and mostly keeps to himself." "Well, that's something new."
Suddenly, Stephanie's feeling of exclusion dissipated, replaced with a tinge of sympathy as she looked at them.
But she couldn't help wonder, do kids with autism have common topics to discuss?
And could Sullivan, with his age, still be called a kid?
Yet, when he and Emily were chattering away, there was an innocent, childlike quality to it that was strangely endearing.
