She’s Married, Sir (Scarlett and Sebastian)

Chapter 50

Chapter 50

“Are you going to search for the chairman?”

Scarlee, dressed in her business attire, doubtfully asked when she saw Scarlett waiting for the elevator

to come in again.

Scarlett snapped back to reality and quickly shook her head. “My apologies, I forgot to grab something.

Miss Napier, you two should go ahead of me.”

After she had finished speaking, without daring to look at the two of them, she turned and departed.

Gazing at her retreating figure, Scarlee couldn’t help but turn to Sebastian and remark, “This assistant

is really peculiar. We’re not a menace. Why are we so scared that we won’t even take the elevator?”

Sebastian gave no response, his eyes expressionless and uninterested in his surroundings, as if

nothing mattered to him.

Scarlee extended her slender hand and grasped his arm, murmuring, “Sebastian, thank you for taking

me to the ER that night. I’ve been away for a few years and the food there just doesn’t agree with me.

I’ve been having recurrent bouts of gastroenteritis. Thank you for all your efforts.”

On that day, her father took her to the Jackman family to discuss the engagement, and she was so

delighted that she drank a few extra cups of wine, which unfortunately caused her stomach to become

upset. Fortunately, Sebastian couldn’t turn her away in front of everyone, so he had to take her to the

emergency room.

She had always wanted to thank him, yet every time she went to the Jackman Group to find him, his

assistant would inform her that he wasn’t there. Had her father not requested his help today, she ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .

wouldn’t have had the opportunity to express her gratitude.

Sebastian averted his gaze and glanced at the hand on his arm. He uttered icily, “Your attire is

creased.”

Scarlee quickly let go of her hand and hung her head in disappointment. “Have you not overcome your

fear of germs?”

Sebastian wiped his clothes with a handkerchief and quipped, “It ain’t gonna fix itself.”

Scarlee choked.

On her first day in the office, he held her hand and had her seated on his lap, not uttering a word.

That night, his gastroenteritis flared up, and he was the one who carried her out of the emergency

room.

She had assumed that after five years, his mysophobia had been cured, yet she was taken aback

when he declared that it could not be cured.

‘I’m afraid it’s not because that he can’t get cured, but rather because he has grievances against her,

so he doesn’t want her to

touch him.’

“Sebastian, I’m sorry.”

Scarlee carefully explained, “Five years ago, I declined your proposal because I felt I wasn’t up to the

task, so I went abroad. to study hard. Now I’m the president of Napier Group, and I can stand shoulder

to shoulder with you. Please don’t be mad at me anymore, okay?”

Sebastian’s expression softened slightly from its cold and stiff state.

He swiveled his head to gaze at Scarlee and uttered lightly, “My ailment has nothing to do with you.

Don’t overthink it.”

Once Scarlee had calmed down, Sebastian had been accustomed to being a clean freak since he was

young, so she gave him more time to adjust to her choice.

When Scarlett returned to the office, her face, which was no bigger than the palm of her hand, had

taken on a slightly pale

hue.

She had not anticipated Scarlee and Sebastian being in the elevator, let alone heading to the

chairman’s office.

Had she been aware beforehand, she would not be caught dead entering the president’s exclusive

elevator.

She had promised never to set eyes on him again, yet they encountered each other not long after.

When she saw Sebastian again, it felt as if a century had gone by,

Scarlee was by his side, and she herself had been possessed by a stranger.

They had returned to their own paths.

The only difference was that Sebastian swiftly extricated himself, yet she was not so quick to let it go.

Taking a deep breath, she turned on the computer and was about to arrange the handover documents

when she received the chairman’s special line.

Scarlett was taken aback; the chairman rarely sought her out. If he ever did, he would usually go

through Kelly. Why was he calling her directly?
