She’s Married, Sir! Novel Chapter 25
She pushed the IV machine toward her ward. Susan had just returned from buying food. When she
saw her get up, she hurriedly walked over.
“You’re walking around everywhere right after your fever subsided. Do you want to die?”
“You have heart disease. You have to be careful.” Susan pressed her down on the bed and lectured her
with a straight face.
Scarlett felt a warmth in her heart. She pursed her lips and smiled. “I’m going to get the report.”
“I will help you get it. Why are you walking around?” Susan said as she opened the lid of the food box.
“Where is the report? Show it to me,” she said with concern.
Scarlett blinked. She did not want to lie to Susan, but she still disagreed. “I went to the doctor and
forgot to take the report
with me.”
When Susan heard her say this, she did not think too much about it. She only cared about her physical
condition. Then what does the report say?”
Scarlett replied unhurriedly, ‘It’s just a blood test. It’s nothing”
“You’re not like other folks,” Susan said, her gaze fixed on Scarlett. “You have a heart condition. The
blood test is the most crucial examination.” She paused and looked at Scarlett intently.
“I know. The doctor said that everything is fine. Everything is normal. Don’t worry.” Scarlett said with a
smile.
“I bought your favorite omelet. Have some first,” Susan said as she handed the food to Scarlett.
Scarlett took a fork and started to feed her.
Susan looked at the pale–faced Scarlett and hesitated.
If she had not heard wrongly, Scarlett was calling Liam.
That boy had always been haunting her. After so many years, this was the first time she had heard her
call Liam’s name in her sleep.
Susan wanted to ask Scarlett if she had not forgotten Liam, buried deep in her memories, but she did
not want to reopen Scarlett’s wounds.
Susan thought for a long time and finally chose to shut up. Liam was someone who had died in the
past. It would only add to her worries if she mentioned him.
Scarlett was full after eating half a bowl. She put down the spoon and asked Susan, “Shouldn’t you go
to work?“.
“I’m already late. Might as well just take the day off.” Susan pointed at her watch.
“Then you…”
“I will take two days off to accompany you.”
“I should take this opportunity to rest,” Susan said as she laid down on the empty bed beside her.
“Thank you, Susan,” Scarlett said with a gentle smile.
“Scarlett, I’ll take a nap first. Call me if you need anything.” Susan waved her hand and yawned.
“Yeah, go ahead,” Scarlett nodded. “I’ll be fine with the nurses and doctors here.”
Only then did Susan close her eyes and fall asleep tiredly.
Susan worked in the nightclub, and most of the time she worked in the evening class. She was very
busy and tired.
She did not get into college. Without a diploma, it was almost impossible for her to find an office job.
She did not find any good work after graduating from high school. She thought that she would go to
the night club as it was the only way she could settle in A Town.
At first, she was a wine–selling lady, but later, her performance was good and she became a manager.
After a few years, she bought a house and a car. It could be considered a small accomplishment, but it
didn’t come easily.
Fortunately, Susan had a relatively reliable boyfriend, and the two of them were going to get married on
the ninth of next month
Once she was married, she no longer had to identify as an orphan and could build her own family.
