Chapter 831
The room was empty except for the two of them, and it was clear that Stella no longer wished to play her usual role as the wise older sister.
With a mocking gaze, she declared, "Yes, you're absolutely right. I've fallen for Remington. I'm madly in love with him!"
Stella lifted her chin slightly, her eyes filled with defiance and challenge as she stared down Lizetta. She knew Lizetta hadn't moved on from Remington and wanted to provoke her into anger. However, Lizetta's expression remained calm, even rolling her eyes at Stella's declaration. It was obvious to anyone what Stella was trying to do.
"Are you done?" Lizetta said, attempting to walk away as if Stella's words were nothing more than a minor annoyance.
Feeling disregarded, Stella blocked Lizetta's path once again, her face twisted in anger. "Lizetta, why are you even here?"
"That's none of your business." Lizetta replied.
Stella reached out to grab Lizetta again, "You're divorced and still clinging to Remington. Of course, I have a say! Because I'm the one who's going to be the future Mrs. Dashiell!" Lizetta chuckled, "Self-proclaimed? Do Fiona and Remington know about this?"
Their attitudes at the Dashiell family mansion had been quite clear, not showing Stella any favor in front of Lizetta. Listening to Stella's confident claims, Lizetta might have been confused if not for that day's clear rejection.
Lizetta sighed at Stella's delusional confidence, but Stella's face grew cold. "I've grown up with Remington, I've dedicated my life to him, even becoming disabled, enduring so much pain, and I've done it all willingly!Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.
Lizetta, what have you done for
Remington? You've enjoyed years of luxury in the Dashiell family without giving anything back. What right do you have to compete with me? If you had any decency, you'd stay away from Remington and return what rightfully belongs to me!"
Lizetta was astounded by her absurd logic. She had already had enough of dealing with Andrea's family today and didn't want to engage in a verbal battle with Stella. Moreover, she was here for business, not to argue with Stella. "I'll say it again, talk to Remington about it," Lizetta said, pulling her hand away with an indifferent expression. If Stella thought she could provoke Lizetta with these words, she was sorely mistaken.
The day Lizetta divorced Remington, she had already relinquished her position as Mrs. Dashiell. If Stella
could take that place, it would be
due to her own efforts. But thehet
more indifferent Lizetta seemed, the more Stella was filled with anger and jealousy.
They struggled, with Stella bitterly mocking, "Lizetta, drop the act. You keep parading in front of Remington even after the divorce. Isn't that just playing hard to get? Hypocrisy at its finest!"
Lizetta thought Stella was delusional. If she were playing hard to get, why on earth would she have insisted on the divorce? It seemed utterly pointless.
As Lizetta tried to pull away again,
Stella pressed something into her hand, saying, "Don't think Remington's gentle attitude means he stil loves you. He's just guilty over your lost child. Take a good look at what this is!"
Lizetta looked down to find a cufflink in her palm. It was quite exquisite, with a sapphire in the center surrounded by a ring of platinum, and it bore the glowing initials FJC & LZ - the initials of Lizetta and Remington's names. This cufflink was a present Lizetta had given to Remington on his eighteenth birthday, a gift costing her $280, a sum she had saved over half a year by tutoring classmates to afford a custom design.
