Chapter 464 You Stepped on My Toes!
The next second, Drake kissed Sophia's lips.
Sophia was kidding with him and didn't expect him to take it seriously.
"Wait!"
She tried to push him away, but Drake gave her no chance.
He even deepened his kiss.
From where Rashad was standing, he could see them. After Drake pulled Sophia away, he saw them
interact. He knew what his mother had done earlier but he didn't stop her because he wanted Emma
and Drake to grow disappointed in Sophia.
Much to his surprise, things were more complicated than he had expected. It turned out that he needed
to try harder to ruin their relationship.
Especially when Rashad saw Drake and Sophia kiss passionately, fury surged in his chest.
Rashad gulped down the wine in his goblet in one go as if he had nothing to do with those matters.
However, he squeezed his goblet so hard that he almost crushed it.
When Flynn looked for Drake and Sophia and walked over, he saw the scene and turned around
immediately. Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
Since he needed to show something to Drake urgently, Flynn could only remind them, "Hey, you guys!
Can you spare me the PDA? Go get a room, will you?"
His voice brought Sophia back to her senses abruptly. She pushed Drake away. Although she could
keep calm under such a circumstance, she blushed.
Her rosy cheeks reminded Drake of a flower blossom, so he really wanted to kiss her again. However,
he tried his best to suppress his desire.
"Wait here. I'll be right back."
Sophia refused to do so. Just now, Drake almost lost control in the hall. Therefore, she went to the
ladies' room after he walked away.
Neither of them noticed Jessica and Molly were watching them all the time.
Molly knew what had happened, but she wouldn't make trouble. She knew Jessica would, so she would
just stand aside while watching the fun.
As soon as Sophia left the ladies' room, Jessica reached out her foot, thinking no one paid attention.
After all, there were many guests in the hall. If Sophia tripped over, she might expose something under
her dress. In that case, she would be embarrassed.
While imagining, Jessica suddenly felt a foot stamping hers. "Ouch!" she cried out in pain.
Her voice was so loud that everyone looked over.
Jessica roared in pain, "Why did you step on my foot, Sophia!"
Sophia looked at her calmly. "Why did you reach your foot?"
Noticing others' confused gazes, Jessica retorted unhappily, "When did I reach out my foot?"
"Why would I have stamped on it if you hadn't?"
Before Jessica continued, Sophia asked, "All the people present are guests invited by the Riley family.
Do you think I'll take the initiative to give you a hard time tonight?"
"Oh... I understand. Did you reach out your foot to trip me over? I'm sorry for disappointing you."
"You!"
No one on the spot was foolish, so they easily guessed what had happened through their conversation.
They also knew Jessica was an illegitimate daughter of the Greenspan family, and all her family and
relatives had cut off ties with her. They wondered why she had attended this party.
Holding a goblet, Sophia walked to the president of Cannon Group. "Excuse me, Mr. Stark. I didn't
expect you to bring such a date to our party. Aren't you afraid she would embarrass you?"
Mr. Stark watched what Jessica had done and felt disgraced. In fact, he didn't want to let her be his
date earlier, but the man who had helped him before requested. Therefore, he couldn't refuse.
Actually, Mr. Stark had no idea who had helped him before.
"Come here, Jessica," he called.
Under many people's gazes, he felt ashamed.
Jessica swung towards him, looking aggrieved. "Mr. Stark, it's not what you've thought. I was..."
"Shut up! Don't you know what an occasion this is? How dare you have done such a thing! You'll never
be my date in any event in the future."
Jessica narrowed her gaze at him. Although Mr. Stark didn't know who had asked him to do so, Jessica
knew. Also, the man was on the scene tonight. She was sure Mr. Stark would annoy that man.
Noticing her gaze, Mr. Stark felt uncomfortable, but he was a man with principles. He knew what he
ought to do. If that man let him do something that broke his principles, he would refuse that man even if
that man thought he was ungrateful.
"I'm sorry, Mrs. Riley. I'll keep an eye on her."
Since he apologized sincerely, Sophia didn't insist on blaming him. In Sophia's mind, maybe Jessica
had done this thing secretly and it had nothing to do with Mr. Stark.
Molly scowled at the scene. Just now, she wished Sophia would embarrass herself in public. However,
Sophia managed to solve it easily.
Her grandfather might have sensed her weirdness and reminded her in a low voice, "This is an
important occasion. You shouldn't cause any trouble even if you want. Understand?"
Molly indeed wanted to do something after Jessica had failed. However, her grandfather's reminder
changed her mind.
"I see, Grandpa."
The Old Stein was relieved.
Rashad returned to the Old Riley. The latter beamed at him and asked, "Rashad, I saw you chatting
with several girls just now. Do you have a crush on any of them?"
Upon hearing his question, other guests were all their ears. They could tell the Old Riley favored
Rashad more than Drake.
Besides, Rashad had been out of home for almost 30 years, so the Old Riley kept blaming himself for
it. Naturally, he cared more about him.
However, his partiality for Rashad made the Riley family's atmosphere change.
Those who wanted to win the Riley family's support by setting their daughters up with Drake had no
chance after Drake married Sophia.
Back then, they thought they could also reach their purpose by match making their daughters and
Roman. But Roman turned out to be very incompetent.
Now, they saw another opportunity. Maybe they could achieve their goal by gaining Rashad's favor first.
Rashad answered, "A few of them are nice. Grandpa, that is our first meeting, so I can't be sure."
His answer had no flaw at all.
He answered the Old Riley properly without offending other influential families.
The Old Riley chuckled, "You are right. It's only the first meeting. Of course, you cannot know a lot
about them. In the future, hang out with them often. If you like anyone, tell me. I want to see you get
married when I'm still alive."
