Chapter 264
It was not the first time Oscar saw Lucas, but the first time he faced Lucas in public with his true identity.
What Lucas said embarrassed Oscar.
Louis could not bear Oscar being bullied. He walked up to Lucas and said, "He is my son. Do you want me, your father, to take out a paternity test? Since you are both my sons, Oscar is your brother."
"Are you serious? Louis, are you going to do this at grandfather's funeral?" Lucas looked at Louis with a cold gaze.
'Bastard! If you were half as caring as Oscar, Justin wouldn't have been so angry that he ended up being hospitalized!" Louis hated it when Lucas humiliated him in public.
"Is that so?" Lucas sounded a little angry. "Who is his mother?"
With that, Louis looked embarrassed.
"Lucas, you don't have to go against me like this. I'm not here to compete with you for anything. Dad pities me and he just wants to give me an identity. If you're annoyed seeing me here, I'll leave now."
Oscar purported to be pitiful. He then left the church.
The news that Louis' illegitimate son had appeared at Justin's funeral had not exploded on the Internet under Lucas' instructions, but it spread widely in the upper-class circle.
"Lucas, what's your plan?" Hari rushed to Lucas' office immediately. He certainly didn't like Oscar.
"Your father has gone too far. Mr. Justin Thomas just passed away, and he is already so desperate." Hari glanced at Lucas and sighed.
"My plan? Wait and see." Lucas signed a contract and replied without looking up.
In the upper-class circles, family didn't mean much. Lucas had known that since he was a kid.
Lucas didn't believe that Louis suddenly wanted to be a good father and compensate Oscar. He must be plotting something.
Compared to Rebecca, Lucas was relatively calm.
Lucas knew that Louis would finally reveal his ambition.
On the other side, Terry wanted to ask Jessica out again. But Oscar visited him almost on a daily basis. In case what happened last time repeated itself, Terry could only wait.
"Why do you come to me every day? I won't pay you." Terry said jokingly.
"Well, you're a good teacher." Oscar held a document in his hand, looked up, thought for a moment, and said with a smile, "Recently, my dad started to introduce me to a lot of entrepreneurs in LA. I want to know about them in advance."
"Why did you contact Luna last time?" Terry didn't answer Oscar. Instead, he asked.
The Davison family was also a great family in LA. But it didn't connect much to the Thomas family in terms of business, so Terry knew little about Justin's death.Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.
But the timing made Terry suspicious. Justin seemed to have died right after Oscar contacted Luna.
"To know more about Lucas," Oscar said calmly after a pause. "Know yourself and know your enemy."
Terry gazed at Oscar. He did not find anything unusual on Oscar's face, so he said, "If she knew Lucas, she would not have been abandoned."
"I would like to ask Jessica, but you are not willing to give me her number," Oscar joked.
With that, Terry rolled his eyes.
Jessica, who was talked about by two guys, was having lunch with Hannah at a steakhouse.
Hannah kept talking about the gossip. The two inevitably talked about the recent events in the Thomas family. Even Hannah, who had always been dissatisfied with Lucas, couldn't help but sigh.
*I heard from my father that Lucas' father is far from capable. That's why Justin had to foster his two grandsons. I didn't expect that Louis was so eager to give his illegitimate kid a proper name. He did it right after Justin died."
"Are you trying to say that the Thomas family has a bad reputation?" Jessica took a sip of the red wine and smiled faintly.
"I think it's quite unlucky to have such a father. Did you know that the multinational business of the Thomas Group has been ruined because of the scandal?" Hannah stuck out her tongue and said.
