Chapter 65
"What should I talk to her about?" Nelson asked Dylan with a smile while sitting upright at his desk.
Dylan knew that Nelson's smile was a prelude to an outburst. He silently pushed the agreement back and stood aside without a word.
Nelson rubbed his temples with annoyance.
Recently, he had been missing the old Sabrina. Her eyes used to sparkle before their marriage. She always tried to please him by dressing up beautifully and smiling gently. She only hoped to get his attention.
In fact, he missed his past self even more.
He felt that the current him cared too much about Sabrina. He had paid too much focus on her, even if it were just out of interest.
Sabrina's reaction toward Pamela's pregnancy had completely caught him off guard.
First, she behaved like a child by hiding in Wyatt Manor.
Then, she treated it as a business matter by sending her assistant over.
Nelson couldn't deny Sabrina's beauty and competence. He had to admit that he was attracted to her.
However, he didn't want to deal with matters of the heart anymore.
After searching for that person all these years, it always ended in vain. He missed "her" but couldn't avoid slowly forgetting her.
"How's the investigation going?" he asked abruptly.
Dylan snapped out of his thoughts.
"It's still ongoing. We're still confirming several pieces of key information."
Nelson remained silent while Dylan pursed his lips.
"Why are you suddenly investigating Mrs. Tucker? She doesn't fit any of the criteria."
"Can't I just fantasize? I'm imagining they're the same person so that everyone can be happy!"
Nelson shot Dylan a glare.
"When did you start talking like her? If you don't have anything useful to say, just shut up!"
Dylan retorted, "I've always been like this. It's clearly you who—"
Nelson straightened up.
"What about me? Say it clearly." Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.
"You're infatuated with Mrs. Tucker. That's why you see her in everyone…"
Dylan said while running out of the door. Then, he poked his head back in.
"After all these years, maybe it's time to move on. It wouldn't be such a bad thing to start a new life. Besides, Mrs. Tucker is wonderful."
A book flew across the room, hitting the door loudly as Dylan closed it shut.
…
Eva returned and relayed Nelson's message.
Sabrina lay her head on her desk for a long moment before scoffing.
"Married couple, huh?"
She wondered if that was what a married couple looked like.
Eva understood her meaning perfectly.
Even in a marriage of convenience, both parties should respect one another.
Pamela dared to provoke Sabrina with the early pregnancy test result by relying on Nelson's influence.
If Pamela had even the slightest ounce of respect for Sabrina, this matter wouldn't have been handled so poorly.
They could only use a supplementary agreement to restrain Pamela.
"Ms. Wyatt, your schedule is quite free for this afternoon. How about you take a rest?" Eva suggested.
"To avoid Pamela?"
Sabrina propped her head up on her chin.
"Show some backbone, will you?"
"When she came to the office last time, she scratched your hand. Today, she's behaving like this. It'll only add to your frustration if she returns to cause more trouble."
Sabrina sighed while feeling the exasperation deeply.
She had enough of it all.
"Let's file a divorce through legal procedures. Have a lawyer discuss it with him."
Since their marriage involved both the company and her in-laws, she had always been in a passive position. She wanted Nelson to sign the divorce papers voluntarily to resolve things peacefully and without scandal.
Now that there was a child involved and she had no feelings for him, Sabrina thought it was time to file for a divorce.
