Chapter 20
A loud shout startled Nydia, and she cowered behind the sofa, frozen in place.
“Do I need to drag you out?” The voice was now icy cold.
Slowly, Nydia stood up from behind the sofa and nervously said, “It’s me.”
“What are you doing in my study?” Jesse stared at her like a cheetah stalking its prey.© NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
“Stealing, stealing the proposal.” Nydia was clearly frightened but still told the truth.
Jesse narrowed his eyes and smirked, “You’re honest. Which proposal were you planning to steal?”
Nydia walked to the desk and opened the drawer, taking out the proposal and placing it on the table.
The moment Jesse saw the proposal, he stood up from his wheelchair and lunged at her.
“Nydia! You’ve been pretending all these days just to get your hands on this proposal?” He pinned her down on the desk, making it impossible for her to move.
“No, I…” Before she could finish explaining, Jesse raised his hand, tearing her clothes apart, and the buttons fell to the ground. In the next moment, she felt a chill on her chest, and Jesse’s cold hand suddenly landed on her chest…
Jesse in front of her was like a giant shark jumping out of the sea, about to swallow her whole.
“Listen to me, it’s not what you think…” Her words were cut off as Jesse lowered his head and bit her neck. The sudden pain made Nydia groan, and she instinctively grabbed Jesse’s shoulder.
After the pain, there was a spreading tingling sensation, sometimes light, sometimes heavy, and a warm touch.
Jesse raised his head and stared at her.
The violence in his eyes made her heart shrink. She knew that Jesse was like a volcano about to erupt, and the lava that spewed out would destroy everything.
His lips were stained with blood from her neck. His sharp teeth had pierced her flesh, and he had even sucked her blood.
“You’re so fond of Barclay? Willing to do anything for him?” Jesse held her jaw, and the force in his hand made her feel like her jaw was about to break.
“I didn’t steal the proposal to help Barclay. On the contrary, I did it to lure him into a trap. He’ll either lose this opportunity or go all out to get this cooperation. Either way, he’ll lose!” Nydia spoke with difficulty, but she finished what she wanted to say. She knew that if she didn’t say it now, she might not get another chance.
Her jaw was so sore that she was losing feeling, and blood was still flowing down her neck, she could feel it trickling over her skin.
“Do you think I’ll believe you?” Jesse lowered his voice, his lips were only an inch away from her, and she could smell the blood.
“I can prove it to you!” She could barely speak, the pain was too much, and her body was trembling.
“Nydia, I gave you a chance, but you…” He leaned closer to her ear, “disappointed me too much. Since you don’t want to stay in this world, I’ll take you to hell.”
His voice was very gentle, as if whispering sweet nothings between lovers, but the words he spoke were chilling, like the devil’s scepter piercing her ear, emitting a cold chill, freezing her blood and instantly plunging her into hell.
Her body was suddenly flipped over and pressed onto the table.
“Jesse, what I said is true, I stole the plan to modify its content and give it back to Barclay. Give me a chance to prove myself.”
Her urgent tone couldn’t stop Jesse’s actions.
“I don’t like Barclay, I like you!”
The movement behind her stopped.
Nydia breathed a sigh of relief.
However, Jesse’s long, hot fingers lightly caressed the back of her neck, and his sarcastic voice came from behind.
“You really say anything, don’t you?”
Nydia gave up, she didn’t struggle.
But after a while, she choked out, “I’m telling the truth.”
The words were so light, as if she was telling herself, not expecting Jesse, who was still furious, to hear them.
Suddenly, she felt a lightness on her body.
For a while, there was no movement, only the sound of tissues being pulled out.
She turned her head and saw Jesse wiping his fingers with a tissue and throwing it into the trash can.
He lifted his eyelids and looked over, their eyes met, and Nydia blushed, tears still in the corners of her eyes, and blood still oozing from her neck.
Jesse started to speak, his throat moving.
“Help me over there.” His voice was hoarse.
Nydia immediately reacted and supported him onto the wheelchair with her weak legs.
It was only then that she realized that Jesse had just stood up? And he could walk?
She had always thought that Jesse’s legs were completely unable to walk, and he needed a wheelchair, but just now he could walk without one and even stand, otherwise he couldn’t have done those things to her.
The office became silent again, and the silence made Nydia feel very oppressed.
Noticing Jesse’s gaze sweeping over her body, she felt even more embarrassed because she was now disheveled and her upper body was almost exposed.
