Yasmine couldn't help but smile. "Yeah, that's me. Honestly, I never expected. professors to wait for me to graduate."
The crowd gasped in shock, especially the psychology students.
Everyone in the Psychology Department knew about the legendary senior who not only excelled in her studies but also stood out as a unique talent.
So, when she faced challenges that nearly made her drop out and said she wouldn't be returning, all the professors and the dean agreed to give her an unusual, indefinite leave of absence. It felt like every professor was saying they would wait for her return. As Yasmine reflected on those moments, warmth filled her heart. Meanwhile, the buzz of excitement in the crowd grew louder.
"So, it really is her! Oh my gosh! I had the honor of reading her thesis, and it's a masterpiece!"
"If Ms. Sanchez is truly that legendary senior, she deserves not just to be a university psychology instructor but a professional psychologist too! Her talent and experience are legendary! I heard she had even worked with the police to solve multiple cases!" "OMG, my
idol is now my teacher! I'm in awe! Ever since my professor showed us her exam paper, I've wanted to meet her in person, and now it's Ms. Sanchez..."
As the crowd's admiration turned toward Yasmine, Helen was fuming. She glared at Fiona and sneered, "Just because you say she's that legendary senior, she actually is? Come on! You must be blind or something. Plus, you've got no proof; you're just trying to help Yasmine out using that senior!"
'If she's really such a legend, why would she be so submissive all these years living with us?' Helen thought, still skeptical that Yasmine could be that impressive. Fiona flushed with anger. "You're talking nonsense! I'm telling you, Yasmine is that legendary senior!"
"Oh really?" Helen shot back, unconvinced. "Then why don't you ask her to prove it?"
Yasmine stayed quiet and simply glanced at Helen. She could prove it if she wanted to, but she didn't see any point in bothering the professors over a fool of the Flynn family.
Seeing her silence as confirmation, Helen became even smugger. "What's wrong? Can't
G
prove you're some kind of legend? You think you can fake it when you're just a fraud- "Who says she can't prove it?" a deep, authoritative voice interrupted.
Everyone turned to see a refined, middle-aged man walking over as he looked at
Yasmine.
"Oh my gosh! Mr. Heartthrob is here!" A small gasp went up from the crowd.
The man was Simon Chase, the vice dean of the Psychology Department. Respected. and adored by countless students for his charm, many referred to him as Mr. Heartthrob among professors.
Simon stepped forward and, looking at Yasmine with a mix of relief and nostalgia, said, "You've finally come back."
"Mr. Chase," Yasmine replied softly. Seeing her former mentor so pleased with her returning made her heart ache with longing.
She couldn't help but think, 'How foolish I was to miss so much for a marriage that
life have wasn't worth it. If I hadn't wasted time chasing after a man, wouldn't my
turned out differently?"
