Chapter 233: He’s Getting Engaged to Someone Else?

Chapter 233: He’s Getting Engaged to Someone Else?

Noah Beckham’s drawing board fell on the ground in his struggle, making a loud noise.

“Boo hoo…” The little one cried out loudly on Joseph Beckham’s shoulder, inciting the sympathy of the maids in the courtyard.

Eleanor Beckham couldn’t bear it, gathering her courage to block in front of Joseph, “Where are you taking Noah to?”

The thirteen-year-old girl asked in a childish voice, and her courage was commendable.

Joseph glared at her, “Get out of the way.”

Eleanor gritted her teeth, “I’m your aunt.”

Joseph’s face darkened as Eleanor mentioned this, “Eleanor Beckham, are you trying to pick a fight with me?”

Hearing this, Eleanor immediately stepped to the side, speaking incoherently, “I’m just kidding. You can have your way. Just kidding.”

Joseph flounced out of the yard and didn’t bother to look at her.

Looking at the cracked drawing board on the ground, Eleanor was depressed as she picked it up and heard the maids in the corridor whispering.

“I heard that the master intends to let the young master engage with Miss Sanchez.”

“Huh? Hadn’t they introduced Ms. Downey to their relatives and friends?”

“Isn’t that many things happened to the Downey family recently? And the young master seemed to have broken up with Ms. Downey. Didn’t you hear it too? The master had handed the group to Franklin.

What would happen to the young master’s career if he doesn’t marry Miss Sanchez?”

“Yea, men always value their careers, not to mention a person like the young master.”

Eleanor was speechless.

She heard every word of the maids gossiping. She picked up the drawing board and went back to the courtyard where she lived. She fished out her notepad and made a call.

“Hello? Stella, it’s me. Where’s your mommy?”

Stella Downey was speechless.

“No. I’m not looking for her. I’ll just tell you. Please let your mommy give Joseph an out. Otherwise, it would mess up a sure thing…”

Stella was speechless again.

Eleanor felt melancholy, hanging up the phone.

Eleanor had no sense of existence in the Beckham family at all. She was just Harrison Beckham’s nominal adopted daughter, and it would be benevolent of raising her to adulthood.

Although she was young, she knew better about assessing the environmental risks as Eleanor stayed in the orphanage since she was a child.

Harrison was old, and he would not be able to take care of her for too long. Joseph would undoubtedly be the new owner of the Beckham family, but Eleanor was not close to him. Therefore, the mistress of the Beckham family would become the only factor that determined her future.

Eleanor liked Hayden’s gentle temperament, and she was close to Hayden’s daughter too. As compared to Addison Sanchez, who was always acting cute, Hayden would be so much better to marry

into the Beckham family. So Eleanor was on the same side as Stella.

But Stella’s reaction on the call was beyond Eleanor’s expectations. How could she turn into this?

It was noon, and Stella didn’t go to school for the past two days because of having a cold.

Hayden had made the meal and called Stella to come out for lunch. But Stella came out with a sullen look.

“What’s wrong? Not feeling well?” NôvelDrama.Org © content.

Hayden habitually touched her forehead, “Not fever.”

Stella stretched out her arms towards Hayden, and her childish voice seemed muffled because of the cold, “Hugs.”

Hayden smiled, “Are you acting cuddly? Why are you being like this when you are sick? Is it because I haven’t spent time with you for so long?”

Stella snorted, looking aggrieved.

She laid on Hayden’s shoulder after being picked up, “Mommy, can we still get Noah back to us if you don’t get married to Joseph?”

Hayden patted her back, “Why asking this suddenly? Mommy will find a way.”

“Weren’t we living well without Noah? Mommy, I don’t want to stay here anymore. Let’s get back to America, okay?”

Stella’s words led Hayden to fall into a brief silence, “What’s wrong, honey?” Hayden frowned, “Is it bad here?”

“Bad.”

Stella snorted, “The people here are no good at all. They always bully mommy. You fell in love with one so hard, but he’s just a bastard.”

Hayden was stunned, let go of Stella, looking at her and asked, “What do you mean?”

Stella then grumbled and told Hayden about Eleanor’s call, “He said he was going to marry mommy, but why would he engage with someone else suddenly? He’s so bad. Mommy, the people here are so bad. Let’s get back to America. It would be better for you to stay with daddy.”

“You mean that he was getting engaged to someone else?”

Hayden was startled, “Who?”

“It’s Miss Sanchez.”

Stella was furious, “She’s not even as good-looking as you, mommy. She’s an adult and just likes acting cute. Noah and I dislike her.”

Stella described it vividly. When Eleanor called again, Hayden had to believe that it was all true.

Addison was Joseph’s childhood sweetheart. Even if Joseph didn’t deceive Hayden that the two were just buddies, then there wouldn’t be anyone else who could let Joseph willing to marry.

Addison was one of them, but Hayden wasn’t sure whether she counted as one or not.

Even if yes, it was just the past too.

As things came to this point, ending this was a problem, not to mention starting over again with him. Hayden couldn’t accept Joseph’s distrust, but she couldn’t be honest to him too. She found herself on

the horns of a dilemma.

Their relationship shouldn’t have started in the first place. Hayden looked complicated, “When mommy gets Noah’s custody, I’ll take you guys back to America, okay?”

Stella nodded in confusion, still thinking about the bad news of Joseph, whom she always respected, marrying another woman. She fell into deep sorrow.

She was so angry that she wanted to tell Noah to get a new father like herself.

Hayden’s company, Green Lemon Clothing Co., Ltd, had its online and offline sales on track. A total of three series of clothes had been released since its establishment, and they were sold out each time.

As the company developed well, it must face peer competition and trademark violation problems.

Hayden was discussing with Dante Burke about attending a fashion magazine party in Shanghai when the assistant handed over the latest batch of goods samples from Yi-Pai Clothing to Hayden.

“Ms. Downey, this dress from Yi-Pai Clothing is almost identical to the second batch of our dress from the colour scheme to the style. They even just changed it into an off-the-shoulder design. They’re such a copycat.”

Hayden took the comparison chart and frowned, “Where’s the lawyer? Contact the lawyer to deal with it.”

“It’s useless.” Dante’s tone was calm, and he didn’t even bother to take a look, “This industry is like this, clothing design being duplicated all the time. When a new product sold well, there will soon be countless company imitating it. It’s just a waste of time filing a lawsuit.”

“We can’t just ignore it, right?”

Hayden’s frown deepened, “Just letting them plagiarize?”

“Unless you are willing to have a falling-out with that person,” Dante looked at Hayden faintly, “Yi-Pai Clothing is owned by the ST Group.”
