Chapter 19
Chapter 19
“What are you doing here?” Elisa asked Yan, surprised by his sudden appearance.
“I came to visit your mother,” Yan replied.
“How did you find this place?”
You left so hastily that day, didn’t even leave me your contact information. I heard that Auntie was s and admitted to a private hospital in New York, so I went looking for it one by one.”
“Thank you,” Elisa whispered gratefully.
“What’s there to thank?” Yan raised his hand to ruffle Elisa’s hair.
“Thave something to tell you, can we go somewhere else?” Yan asked.
sick
Elisa hesitated for a moment. She knew that Yan had come to visit her mother, and out of politeness, she should invite him for a meal or a coffee.
But she thought about the fact that she was already married. She shouldn’t give Yan any illusions, even though her husband was still in a coma, which wouldn’t be fair to him.
Till walk you downstairs. We can talk on the way.” Elisa said.
With that, she headed straight to the elevator, and Yan could only hurriedly follow along.
“Elisa, I’m sorry, it’s all my fault. I lost you for so long and I don’t know how much pain you have suffered. let alone how you survived all these years! I’m sorry.” Yan spoke while holding Elisa’s
hand, he knew that in her eyes, there was pain, anguish, and sadness, nothing to do with the woman he left a few years ago.
Without waiting for this reaction, Elisa pulled her hand back, feeling a strange sensation in her heart.
She was not used to this kind of intimate touch, and besides, she and Yan had grown up and were no longer children,
Once inside the elevator, there weren’t many people. There was only one middle–aged man supporting an elderly person with white hair.
“Yan, how are you abroad? Do you have a girlfriend?” Elisa wanted to change the subject and asked casually.
“No, I never had a girlfriend, after all, I always had one girlfriend!” He replied with a smile on his face. Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.
Elisabeth was surprised by Yan’s words; she didn’t know he had a girlfriend. “Really? And who is she? Do L know her?”
Yan opened his mouth and smiled, nodding his head. “I think you do know her, after all, it’s you!”
The words got stuck in his mouth, and he didn’t say them, he pretended not to understand, but he was avoiding it on purpose. After all, she had gotten married, not for love but for money. She recognized that, but still, she owed loyalty to her spouse.
“Elisa, I studied about your mother’s condition, and her condition can only be improved with surgery. If you agree, I can take her to Europe for the best treatment there. I also know that you married that
vegetative person.”
He spoke seriously. The elderly person beside them, upon hearing these words, furrowed their brows slightly.
“And how does one ask for a divorce from a vegetative person? I mentioned it, but he didn’t hear.” Elisabeth retorted with a smile, wanting to change the subject as quickly as possible.
“Elisa, when you marry a vegetative person, it’s like jumping into a fire. Do you still want to protect a vegetative person for the rest of your life? I can help you with that, I’ll take care of everything, and you don’t need to worry.
Elisa didn’t make a sound and just took a deep breath.
“Elisa, don’t be afraid, I’ll never leave you again, and I promise to take care of you and protect you. I’ll fulfill the promise I made to you when we were children, so what do you think? Will you marry me?”
“Yan, no one forced me to marry, I did it voluntarily. Although he’s in a coma now, I believe he will wake up.” Elisa replied, even though she didn’t believe it, she still had hope.
The elevator doors opened, and Elisa stepped out. Right now, she just wanted to get Yan out as quickly as possible.
“And when he wakes up, will you be familiar with him? Do you know what kind of person he is? How can you accept being with a stranger?” Yan followed closely behind Elisa, puzzled as to why she was unwilling to leave a comatose person.
Suddenly.
“Yan Johnson!”
In the lobby, a furious shout erupted as Mrs. Johnson rushed over, her eyes filled with uncontrollable. anger as she glared at Elisa. She grabbed her purse and angrily swung it at Elisa.
“Mother, what are you doing?” Yan asked loudly and irritated by her behavior.
“What? Do you know what kind of person she is? Look at the news on the internet yourself!”
The woman replied, throwing the phone into Yan’s arms, and then turned to look at Elisa again.
“Elisa, it’s enough that you’re greedy. You’re married, so don’t come seducing Yan, or is it that the you married is a vegetable, and you can’t stand being alone, so you want to strangle Yan too?”
The commotion here alarmed the rest of the lobby, and everyone pressed in and looked over.
A question from Mrs. Johnson made it clear to these people.
“Is that girl Elisa Barson? I even stole her video this morning!
“It’s her, I also took it
“Did she also marry a vegetative person?”
Elisa looked at Madame Johson.
person
“Mrs. Johson, are you legally responsible for what you’re saying, or do you think you’ll get away with it?
“You still use the law to oppress me? I know why you married a vegetative person. You sold yourself for half a million dollars! Elisa, are you willing to marry even a vegetative person, or if not, why did you Does it not affect you at all to be with other men while being with a living dead?”
Elisa hurled her bag at Mrs. Johnson’s face, who was stunned for exactly three seconds.
“You!”
She was so angry that she couldn’t speak and never thought Elisa would dare to throw it at her!
do it?
She held her hand and waved at Elisa, and just as the slap was about to hit Elisa’s face, a hand forcefully grabbed Mrs. Jonhson’s wrist!
Mrs. Johson turned around and discovered it was an old man who seemed to be in his sixties who stopped her, however, this old man has great strength and is not angry or arrogant.
