Chapter 44 Important Party

Chapter 44 Important Party

After a long time of contemplation, he made a call to Clarissa. He deliberately lowered his voice, as if

the company had something important happened, “Clarissa, I have to live in the company these days. If

you are afraid, you can ask your mom to live with you!”

Clarissa believed him. Since she learned that shares of the Baron Group’s stock had fallen, Antonio

told something related to the family to her. She remembered the gentle man at the family dinner and at

this point she wanted to pluck his skin. No wonder she helped Adelaide before, she thought it was

Adelaide's charm attracted him, but it turned out to be this man who had been working against Antonio.

She went to work before and knew that two people’s competing couldn’t be distracted, so she nodded

and thoughtfully instructed Antonio to rest on time. NôvelDrama.Org holds © this.

After hanging up the phone, Antonio was dying to see Adelaide, so he grabbed his coat and rushed

home.

Adelaide was deeply joyful about him coming home. Antonio slept with her every day and cared about

her.

Antonio was indifferent to Clarissa and sometimes would not answer her phones, especially when he

was with Adelaide.

In the blink of an eye, the banquet was coming. Antonio's relationship with Adelaide improved a lot.

Antonio was ready to take Adelaide to the banquet and had the dress ready. Adelaide’s recent

pregnancy vomiting reaction was particularly large. He was worried and wanted to attend together,

“Adelaide, be ready, today is the shareholders’ banquet.”

Adelaide happily touched her belly, “No, the recent pregnancy vomiting is too serious!” The familiar

feeling in the abdomen surged up. She covered her mouth and hurriedly jogged into the bathroom.

After vomiting, she washed her face and came out.

“Look, isn't it a shame for me to go out like this!” Adelaide looked at him apologetically.

Antonio frowned and asked, “Does it make you ashamed to carry my child?”

Adelaide hold forehead, feeling Antonio was like a small child who was competing for favor. Surprised

by his thought, Adelaide’s petite body shivered.

She patiently explained, “No, I think the banquet is full of shareholders. As your wife, I always run to

throw up, even if they know I am pregnant, it will be rude. They are eating and I keep throwing up, isn't

it very unappetizing?”

“What a pain in the ass!”

Antonio said. After a moment, he reluctantly nodded his head, sort of agreeing with her.

Subsequently, he went forward alone to the shareholders' banquet.

Antonio attracted a lot of attention. Even if some women knew he already had a wife, they still wanted

to get close to him because of his look and property.

As Antonio came in, they run to him trying to catch his attention, like a dog waving its tail.

Before Antonio showed up, people might talk to Alvin, but now with Antonio present, who would care

about a bastard son?

He laughed lightly and came to his uncle. The female companion he brought with him today also

drooped because of the lack of attention, and it looked like the two of them had just had a fight.

Antonio raised his hand and handed him a glass of red wine, “Uncle, is this my aunt? Why are you

standing in the corner? It is hard to find you!”

When Alvin was about to take the wine, the woman beside him took the glass, showing a charming

smile while extending her hand to Antonio, “Antonio, right? You are really handsome, Alvin always

mentions you to me.” She thought it would right to say these things, but Alvin’s face was gloomy.

Antonio showed a surprised expression, “Oh? What did uncle say about me?”

The female companion still did not feel the trouble but said, “He said you work hard…”

She was pouring out compliments, but Alvin interrupted her directly and said in a cold voice, “Go pour

me a glass of whiskey!”

The female companion reluctantly walked away. Antonio's smile deepened, before he could say

anything, Alvin asked with a sullen face, “Where is Adelaide?”

He knew they had bad relationship, and wonder if they had a fight.

Antonio hesitated for a long time, “Her recent pregnancy vomiting is serious, so I did not let her come!”

He wanted to find an excuse. Seeing Alvin’s face, he knew Alvin wanted to take the opportunity to

embarrass him, so he did not find an excuse.

As expected, Alvin questioned with a sullen face, “I heard you and Adelaide have a bad relationship

and you have moved out.”

“Uncle, these are rumors. You are smart, why do you still believe this?”

People all knew that Antonio was not close to women, and his secretary was a man, and even most of

his staff was male. If he had not married, they would have thought he was a gay!

People were whispering about him. Antonio frowned and thought it was a wrong decision not to bring

Adelaide here. But if Alvin saw she vomit, he would blame him. Anyway, Alvin would always be able to

find a way to blame him.
