Chapter 91
Chapter 91
Chapter 91 Everyone who knew them knew Trevor disliked Emma. He never treated her well. Simon and Steven knew that too, but that did not stop them from taking money from him. They could do anything as long as Trevor was Emma‘s husband. They did not care about the fact that what they did would put Emma in a lower position in the family. They did not expect Trevor to help her out, however. Steven‘s eyes gleamed, and he looked ahead. “Hey, just a thought, but Trevor probably thinks Emma is actually decent after they got divorced.” Simon froze for a moment, then he burst into laughter. “Well, this is one big case of divorcee‘s remorse then.” He hated her when they were married, and now he thinks she‘s great because they‘re divorced. That‘s hilarious. “He showed up the last time we went to see her, right?” Steven said. “And he helped her this time too. Even Raymond got involved. I think he likes Emma. At least a little.” Simon thought Steven had a point, and he stood up with excitement. “In that case, we‘ll push her to him again like we did last time. I bel he‘ll give us a lot of money.” Steven shot him a glare. “Are you stupid? You need to see the big picture.” Simon quickly asked, “So what‘s the plan?” Steven said, “If we pull the same trick again, we‘ll only get a one–time reward. We need to come up with a long–term strategy. We need to find out if Trevor really likes Emma. If that‘s the case, we‘ll try to repair our relationship with Emma. If we do that, we‘re gonna get a lot of money once they get back together.” Simon clapped his hands. “Great idea, Dad” Emma‘s just a scriptwriter. She can‘t give us too much no matter what we try. I‘d rather rely on Trevor. Steven said, “Call Trevor. We need to talk with him.” Simon obliged, but Trevor called them before they could call him. To be precise, it was Cyrus. “Mr. Bateson wants to see you tonight. Both of you. At Rosette.” Rosette was the most famous bar Zachary had, and it was the hottest bar in Jonestown. Trevor would meet up with his friends at this bar if they had any business talks. It was called Rosette because
Zachary loved to lie on a bed of roses in any industry. Simon and Steven agreed right away. They thought Trevor was trying to negotiate with them, secing as he asked them out. They were going to make impossible demands, but to their surprise, things did not go their way. They arrived at Rosette, and someone took them to the room Trevor was in. A pair of burly bodyguards stood outside the room, guarding the door. They followed Simon and Steven inside and stood behind them. The Yates felt a chill down their spine. He‘s up to something, or he wouldn‘t let these guys in. Trevor was sitting on the center couch. He looked at them with condescension and cut to the chase, “Honestly, leave Jonestown. The farther the better.” The Yates exchanged a look. Steven asked, What do you mean?” Trevor answered impatiently, “I‘m telling you to f*ck off.” He would have beaten them up just because of what they did to Emma lately. Telling them to leave was him being reasonable. Steven gnashed his teeth. “You need to give us some money if you want us to leave. We need something to sustain the trip.” We‘re not leaving without any money. Trevor sneered. “Sorry, but I won‘t give you a single cent.” He fiddled with his glass and warned, “This is not a negotiation. If you won‘t leave, then I will make you leave.” “Why you…” Steven was fuming. He thoughi Trevor was here to negotiate, but he did not expect him to chase them out of the city. His warning loomed over him though. They were no match for Trevor‘s strength. The bodyguards behind them were scary enough, and he had other ways to make them suffer. Simon suddenly said, “You really care about Emma, huh? Don‘t tell me you‘ve fallen in love with her?” Trevor shot him an icy look, but Simon mustered his courage and said, “I‘ll tell you a secret for 150,000.” Trevor sneered and gave the bodyguards a look. They came forward, and before the Yates could react, the bodyguards had pinned them against the ground. It felt like a mountain was crushing them, and the Yates howled in pain.
Trevor said curtly, “Talk.” I‘ve given these b*stards enough money. I won‘t give them more. I would have given them something if they just treated Emma better, but they don‘t deserve it. Violence is the best way to deal with scum like them, Simon refused to talk at first, but when the bodyguard pushed down on him further, he could feel his bones getting crushed, so he quickly said, “Emma really loves you. We made her sleep with you because I read her diary. She wrote about how much she loved you. Emma would never have married anyone else, but since it was you, she agreed to it. She loved you a lot. I know you never believed her, but it‘s true. She told me she had fallen for you ever since she laid eyes on you.” Trevor was shocked. He was surprised about this secret. Emma did tell him she loved him before, but he never believed her. He thought her love was fake. He thought she was acting so she could firinly establish herself as his wife. He had always thought she was in cahoots with her family. When she talked about that incident four years ago, he found out that she was a victim as well. He asked her why she still married him despite being a victim, but she changed the subject and did not answer him. So her love is real. This content © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
