Chapter 60
Chapter 60
Chapter 60 When Crystal got home and restarted her phone, Joseph immediately called her and demanded 10 million. She instantly hung up the phone in a state of anger. There was no way she would give him that money! She failed to chase Emma away and had to pay a sum of money in compensation instead. Naturally, Crystal could barely keep a lid on her fury. As soon as she thought of Emma, Crystal couldn‘t help but ground her teeth in rage. In her opinion, it was all Emma‘s fault that she had fallen into such dire straits. Just what charm did such an unremarkable woman like Emma possess to have a handsome man like Adam wrapped around her fingers? Nevertheless, Crystal didn‘t expect Joseph and the assistant director to come all the way to her house to stir up trouble. She also didn‘t expect Trevor to arrive a few moments later. When he showed up, he sandwiched Joseph and the assistant director in with Crystal, and her face turned pale. Trevor‘s face remained calm as if he had already guessed this would happen. He entered the living room and looked at her dispassionately. “Crystal, tell me what‘s going on.” 5 1115 l Although he had called her by her name, she could inexplicably sense his displeasure. She staggered back a few steps before falling on the couch and began to cry. Crystal recalled that when she was in a relationship with Trevor, he was utterly helpless to her tears and would cave in. “Mr. Bateson, seeing how Miss Sanders is crying buckets, I hope you won‘t force the matter,” Joseph said, defending Crystal. After all, they did not want to burn bridges with Crystal or Trevor utterly When Trevor heard this, he merely raised his icy gaze and said, “I‘m giving you two seconds to leave.”
He wouldn‘t hesitate to turn this altercation into a physical one if they didn‘t leave within the time limit he gave. When Joseph saw the murderous intent in Trevor‘s eyes, he dared not stay any longer and immediately left in a panic. Crystal and Trevor were the only two left in her luxurious and exquisitely decorated villa in a few moments. As she bawled her eyes out on the couch, he stood still for a moment before walking toward her pitiful figure. Then, he reached over to the tissue box to hand her some tissues. When she saw him taking the initiative to give her tissues, she assumed that he had caved in and wouldn‘t pursue the matter any longer. “Thank you,” she mumbled as she wiped her tears with bloodshot eyes. Unfortunately, the next second, she heard Trevor‘s voice saying, “Crystal, don‘t use our relationship as a publicity stunt in the future.” These words were like a bolt from the blue Crystal was so shocked that she couldn‘t even cry. It turned out that the gentle act of giving her the issue was just a front. “Trevor, I‘m so sorry. This is my fault…” She immediately burst into tears again. She stepped forward, grabbed Trevor‘s arm, and continued, “I know it‘s wrong for me to bully Emma like this, but I was just so jealous.” “I‘m jealous that she was married to you for three years, and I‘m jealous that she once had you all to herself.” “Trevor, I really love you a lot. That‘s why I did what I did in the spur of the moment Could you forgive me this time?” Crystal hugged him as she sobbed and apologized to him tearfully. Trevor‘s face was filled with disgust the moment she hugged him. So, he slid his arm away from her grasp, removed himself from her, and said coldly, “This isn‘t a matter of your impulsiveness. Right now, it‘s your morals that are in question.”
How terrible were her principles as a person that she would allow a man to harass a woman like that? Today was the first time he realized that he and Crystal had different views on life. So, it was no wonder he had always felt something was inissing when they were together. Next to him, she was bawling her eyes out as she mumbled, “I‘m sorry. I‘m so sorry. Trevor, I really won‘t do it again…” “The lady of the Bateson Family shouldn‘t be someone who would do anything. including sacrifice her own morals to achieve or attain something.” Trevor turned around and left without a second glance after he said that. This is indirectly tantamount to saying that Crystal wasn‘t worthy of becoming the Mistress of the Bateson Family As Crystal wailed and sobbed as she begged him not to leave, Trevor‘s head was filled with thoughts of Emma when he left. Emma had really carried out her duty as Mrs. Bateson throughout her three years with him. She was the perfect wife, supporting and providing for the family without saying a word in protest. She wasn‘t flashy, nor was she prideful. She did nothing to hurt the family name or his reputation. Of course, the divorce settlement that took a chip in his reputation did not count. In the past three years, she had always been sensible and quiet, giving him a sense of peace. And it was precisely this peace that threw his worries about the future out the window. This peace allowed him to invest more in his career and bring the Bateson Group to its current glory in three years. Now that he thought about it, he realized he had let her down one too many times. Even if Trevor didn‘t love her, he shouldn‘t have hurt her like that and stabbed her heart with all the ugly words he said. He thought that she would never leave him; hence he was unscrupulous. He took her love and care for granted. After he left Crystal‘s villa, he headed straight to Zachary. There, Zachary refused to give Trevor any more alcohol. “Bro, can you take a breather? Stop drinking. Didn‘t you just get discharged from the hospital? Zachary tried to painstakingly persuade Trevor whilc handing a glass of warm water instead. “Kaleb said thatOriginal from NôvelDrama.Org.
you asked to be discharged earlier. Initially, I wanted to give you a glass of juice, but now it seems plain water is the best choice for you.” When Trevor took a sip of the plain water, he inexplicably thought of Emma. Emma‘s existence was like a glass of water to him. Although it wasn‘t nice to drink, it was healthy for the body. As he thought of this, he raised his head and gulped down the glass of water before handing the cup to Zachary. “Pour me another one.” Zachary looked at Trevor like he grew another head when he heard those words. “How can anyone enjoy plain water? I‘m just giving you this to pass the time. Are you drinking it like it is alcohol?” However, although Zachary was grumbling, he still poured Trevor another glass of water. As long as he wasn‘t drinking alcohol, he could drink as much water as he wanted. Zachary twirled the glass in his hand and said, “I‘ve also heard about what your dearest celebrity did today.” The words your dearest‘ made Trevor frown slightly. Zachary pretended not to see his dissatisfaction and continued, “I think what she did was understandable. Who told you to keep bugging Emma? If it were me, I‘d rile her up as well.” Trevor snapped his head back and glared at Zachary upon hearing those words. “When did you see me pestering her?” “You know whether you‘ve been pestering her or nou,” Zachary expressed lazily. Trevor shot him a chilly glance before continuing to drink his water again. After a while, Zachary spoke again, “Now, there happens to be a chance to prove that you haven‘t been pestering her.” “What do you mean?” Trevor asked in a neutral tone. As Zachary sipped his alcohol, he spoke, “Old Mr. Christopher just informed me to arrange a luxurious and secluded room for him tomorrow. He wants to introduce a boyfriend to Emma.”
Zachary was well–connected with many hotels and caterers, especially the high–end ones. Because of that, Christopher reached out to him to arrange a private room. When Trevor heard this, he almost choked on the mouthful of water he was drinking. What was Christopher doing? Was he serious?
