Chapter 181 Chicken Soup
Chapter 181 Chicken Soup
Soup?
Blanca was feeling joyful - Matthew had indeed remembered that she loved the soup Mrs. Brown
made. She was feeling sweetness in her heart.
But the next minute, her smile started fading away and she started feeling awkward as she noticed the
way Mrs. Brown was looking at her.
This was Matthew’s unique way of telling Mrs. Brown that Blanca got laid last night and that she
needed the extra nutrition.
...
Blanca kept her head down the whole time at breakfast as she was afraid to look at Matthew. She was
worried that he might bring up what had happened last night - She was the one that made the first
move.
“Did you have enough?” Matthew put down his spoon already. He didn’t eat much as usual. Besides,
food, for him, was all about energy supply. So it didn’t matter too much what he was having.
Blanca was about to respond, but her mouth was filled with bread and she was almost choking on it.
She patted her chest, and in the meanwhile, Matthew already thoughtfully handed over a glass of
water. Blanca felt touched by his reaction. But before she even said her thank-you, Matthew said with
gloominess, “Looks like you were tired after last night.”
“Puff!”
Did they really have to talk about it early in the morning?
Blanca looked at Matthew with awkwardness in her eyes, and her face was blushing. She wanted to
argue back but suppressed her words back eventually. Matthew stared at her with great interest, “Why
you are so red? Isn’t it because...”
“No, not about that at all!”
“I haven’t even said anything yet.” Blanca’s reaction lighted Matthew up, “If you didn’t get enough, I
can...”
“You shut up!” Blanca almost screamed, fearing Mrs. Brown might hear what he was about to say.
Matthew was smiling even happily, however, his phone rang all of a sudden. Original from NôvelDrama.Org.
Matthew frowned as typically few people would reach him at his phone number. But when he saw the
number, he was a bit surprised and hurriedly picked up, “Mr. Butler, how may I help you?”
“Son, I saw the news. Don’t overthink about what happened. Come over to my place when you can.”
Mr. Butler said.
Matthew was in silence for a short while. Matthew knew Mr. Butler thought highly of him and cared
much about him, but it was the first time Mr. Butler had checked in for his private matter.
“I understand.” Matthew agreed. After he hung up, he saw Blanca staring at him with expectations like
a small hamster waiting for food.
“What is it, do you want to kiss me?”
“...” Why was he such a narcissist? He was a good-looking man, after all. Blanca calmed her
excitement, “Was it, Mr. Butler, on the phone just now? Matthew, when will I meet him...” Blanca looked
at Matthew. She was here at Oakshire mainly to find out her background - She was dwelling on the fact
that she hadn’t met Mr. Butler last time.
Matthew, of course, knew what Blanca was thinking.
He raised his eyebrows, “That depends on my mood whether I will bring you with me or not.”
“Then what can I do to make you feel good?” Blanca would do whatever it took to learn more about her
background. She subconsciously lowered her head and reached her hand to feel the pendant, only to
find that it went missing. She had the look on as if her world had fallen apart!
Where was the pendant?
“Was it left in the interrogation room?” It was there on her neck at noon yesterday, and the only
possibility was that it was dropped when she was getting in the car or the interrogation room. Blanca
suddenly became anxious. If the pendant was lost, how could she find her family?
