Chapter 374

Chapter 374

Only his inner circle knew about his shellfish allergy - family and close friends. But how did Katherine come to know of it?

Ian looked at Katherine with a curious glint in his eye. "How did you know I'm allergic to seafood?"

Katherine was taken aback by the question. How did she know about Ian's allergy? Was it some sort of subconscious memory?

If that was the case, what kind of relationship did she previously have with Ian? Why was it that, despite her memory loss, she remembered his shellfish allergy?

Katherine was momentarily flustered, scrambling for an excuse. "I think I once overheard Clara's dad mention it during dinner."

Ian gave a nod, still somewhat skeptical. "You were always so caring towards Clara. Once you're discharged, we should pay you a visit. I'd love to try your cooking."

Katherine's eyes widened in disbelief. "Really? Would you and Clara actually come over?"

"As soon as you're out of the hospital, I'll bring Clara around," he assured her.

Getting his affirmation, Katherine's eyes glistened with excitement, like a child who had just been handed candy. "Great, it's a date! I'll start writing up the menu right now and have Brodie prepare everything."

With that, she pulled out her phone from beside her pillow and began typing in her notes, a smile of pure joy lighting up her face.

Ian watched, momentarily lost in thought. Why did he keep seeing echoes of someone else in Katherine? They were supposed to be strangers to each other. Was his mind playing tricks on him,

or was there a secret he was not privy to?

As Ian left the hospital, the question lingered in his mind. Sensing his distraction and thinking it was jealousy, Clara seized the opportunity at a red light to lean over and plant a kiss on his cheek.

"Wow, Mr. Hayes, your face is so sour I could lose a tooth," she teased with a laugh.

That brought Ian back to the moment, his gaze shifting to the triumphant Clara beside him. He took her chin in his hand, looking deeply into her eyes. "They say that if a woman loves to eat sour food while pregnant, she will have a daughter. Mrs. Hayes, if you like sour food so much, I don't mind you having an extra bite or two for the sake of the Hayes lineage."

With that, he leaned in for a kiss. It was meant to be a brief kiss, but upon touching those soft lips, he got carried away.

They only broke apart when the green light flickered on, and impatient honking erupted from behind. A laugh tinged with unfinished desire lingered in his voice. "We'll continue this at home."

Clara glared at him, her eyes tinted with embarrassment. "It's your fault for kissing me that long. People saw it."

Ian chuckled as he started the car. "So what if they did? Kissing my own wife isn't a crime. Besides, it was you who made the first move, Mrs. Hayes. Shouldn't I, as a man, respond?"

Hearing him justify his shameless behavior so confidently, Clara pouted and turned to gaze out the window. She couldn't outdo him in shamelessness. The best tactic was silence.

Ian reached out and ruffled her hair. "Tell me about Brodie when he was young."

Clara turned to him with a huff. "Haven't I told you there's nothing between us? Why can't you let it go?"

"It's not that. I'm just curious to know more. Don't you think Katherine acted a bit strange today toward me? Plus, the person she called out in her dream, I think I met him when I was a child. He was a butler for the Hayes family." Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.

Clara's eyes widened with curiosity. "You think Katherine might have met you before at the Hayes estate?"
