Chapter 972 She Likes Hunter
Chapter 972 She Likes Hunter
Sydney knew that Clarice followed her at a distance. It didn't matter, but Sydney felt annoyed by Clarice's defensive gaze as if Sydney was going to do something bad.
Anyway, she was curious about why Clarice asked her to leave the restaurant.
'Why does Clarice ask me to leave here?'
She didn't ask Clarice for the reason because she knew that Clarice wouldn't answer.
'If I want to know the reason, I have to find it out by myself.'
Thinking that, she paused and tilted her head to look at Clarice, who followed behind her.
Seeing that Sydney stopped, Clarice tensed and stopped.
Sydney sneered in her heart.
'Now that she is trailing me, she needs to do it secretly at least.
'However, she stops as soon as I stop. It's too obvious.'
Sydney compressed her red lips. She didn't expose Clarice but continued to walk forward.
Soon, Sydney arrived at her private room. She pulled open the door and walked in.
Clarice glanced at Sydney's private room and the Maddens' private room. Only then did Clarice breathe a sigh of relief.
'It's lucky that Mom and Dad haven't walked out of their private room.
'As long as they won't meet Sydney here, I don't need to be worried.'
Thinking that, Clarice exhaled lightly and relaxed finally. She withdrew her gaze and walked towards the Maddens' private room.
'Although Mom and Dad haven't met Sydney, it doesn't mean that they won't meet her.
'After, they're all in the restaurant.
'I have to persuade Mom and Dad to leave here as soon as possible in case they meet each other.'
Clarice put her hand on the knob, turned it slightly, pushed against the door and walked in.
As soon as she walked in, the door of Sydney's private room was opened slightly.
Sydney's face showed up from the crack. She was staring at the door of Clarice's private room, poker-faced.
She felt curious when Clarice asked her to leave the restaurant, and she became more curious when Clarice tailed her and watched her move.
'Is it because there is something in the restaurant that she doesn't want me to see? Thus, she asked me to leave the restaurant and even tailed me along the way in case I saw it.
'When I found that she was trailing me, I pretended not to notice it. I walked into my private room and opened the door slightly to observe her. From her behaviors, I'm sure that I guessed right.
'After I walked into my private room, she obviously breathed a sigh of relief.
'It was because I didn't see the thing that she cared about.
'Then her expression changed again when she stared at the diagonally opposite private room.
'I don't know how to describe the change in her expression, but my intuition tells me that the thing that she doesn't want me to see is in that private room.
'Then what is in that private room?'
Sydney looked down and was lost in thought.
Julien had come up behind Sydney. Suddenly, he lowered his head and asked, "What has happened? What are you looking at?"
Hearing his voice, she came to her senses, closed the door and turned around. Only then did she reply, "Clarice."
"Clarice?" As soon as he heard the name, his expression changed slightly, and his gaze became strange.
Sydney was concentrating on Clarice's private room and didn't notice the change in Julien's expression. She nodded and said, "It's her."
He asked with a thoughtful gaze, "Where did you meet her?"
Sydney didn't hide it from him and replied, "The restroom. When I walked into the restroom, I heard her voice."
"Did she bully you?" He grabbed her hands, pulled them open slightly and examined them carefully.
Seeing that he cared about her so much, she smiled and shook her head. "She didn't. After all, I'm not a pushover, but she's strange." This content © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
"What do you mean?" Hearing that she hadn't been bullied by Clarice, he let out a sigh of relief at first. Then he frowned when Sydney said that Clarice was strange.
Sydney didn't reply but held his hand and walked towards the dining table.
Before she returned, the waiter had served the dishes. The table was piled with dished that looked delicious.
He pulled a chair out for her, and she sat down. She took a sip of water and said, "When she saw me in the restroom, she panicked. She was afraid of me."
"Afraid of you?" He frowned and didn't understand why Clarice was afraid of Sydney.
Sydney nodded. "Yes, she was afraid of me. I'm sure about that. Besides, she looked guilty and jealous of me. I don't know why she has such feelings for me. I ventured but didn't get the answer from her. Then..."
When she said that, she looked up at him resentfully.
He arched his eyebrows. "Why do you look at me like that?"
He felt panic-stricken somehow.
She rolled her eyes at him and withdrew her gaze. "Usually, women are jealous of other women because of looks, figures, family backgrounds and lovers."
Every time she mentioned one condition, she pressed down one of her fingers.
"Although the Madden family is at stake, it's still richer than my Skylight Corporation. It's impossible for her to be jealous of my family background. As for appearances and figures, though she's worse than me, she isn't bad-looking after she puts on makeup and dresses up. Thus, she isn't jealous of my appearance and figure. Excluding these, she must be jealous of my lover."
Sydney glanced at Julien again.
He felt ridiculous. "So you think that Clarice has feelings for me?"
"You're right." She lifted her chin.
He smiled. "It's impossible. Although I'm charming indeed, not every woman likes me. Besides, I know the man who Clarice really likes."
He stroked her hair.
She widened her eyes. "The man she really likes?"
"Yes."
"Who is it?"
He said slowly, "Hunter."
She was drinking water. As soon as she heard the name, she was so surprised that she turned around to spit out the water in case she spat out the water on the dishes.
He didn't expect her to be so surprised by his words. He fell into a trance, but he came to his senses soon. He patted her back slightly in case she choked.
Then he pulled out a tissue and handed it to her. "Here you are."
She took it from his hand and wiped the water on her mouth. After she wiped the water, she looked at him in surprise. "Is it true? Clarice likes Hunter?"
"It's true." He nodded seriously.
She had to believe it but still felt incredible. "How can it be possible? She likes Hunter? When did she start to have feelings for him?"
"I don't know." He shook his head.
He really didn't know about it.
She bit her lip. "How do you know that she likes Hunter?"
