Chapter 961 Wouldn’t You Feel Jealous?
Julien took her hand and walked toward the lounge area. "My leaf is very smart. When I knew you customized a blue dress, I selected a set of blue jewelry among the jewelry left by my mother to match your dress. But I didn’t expect your blue dress to be destroyed, so I didn't give you the set of blue jewelry and chose this necklace."
"When did it happen?" Sydney queried while walking with him.
Julien's face hardened. "On the day when Greta destroyed the dress, I went to Flint Mansion." Material © NôvelDrama.Org.
Sydney immediately understood it and looked at him. "Did you go to Flint Mansion that day just to get the jewelry?"
"Yes." Julien nodded.
"Did the box you brought back that night contain the jewelry?" She asked again.
Julien uttered, "Yes. I initially planned to give you a surprise, but due to the incident, I didn't give you the jewelry."
"Well, it's better that you didn’t give them to me." A cold expression flickered across her face. "If you had given me the jewelry at that time, I would have felt even sadder when I saw them. You trusted me so much that you asked me to help bring back your suit. You went to prepare the jewelry for me, but I let you down. I didn’t even take good care of your suit.”
He stopped at this second, turned around and raised her chin.
Looking at his furrowed eyebrows and dissenting expression, she blinked. "What's up?"
"Don't say that about yourself." Julien continued, "You didn't let me down. You took the suit out of the store. It's not your fault that the suit was robbed and destroyed. After all, you couldn't stop a
person from having bad intentions. Don't feel ashamed."
As he spoke, he stroked her lips with his thumb.
She gave him a glare and pushed his thumb away.
He chuckled. "Great! You become happy again."
Sydney came to a realization. "Do you take advantage of me just to make me stop feeling ashamed?"
"Certainly." Julien nodded. "You are sensitive. If I only comforted you, you would still feel ashamed now. It’s better to annoy you and divert your attention away from that matter. Then you won’t agonize over it."
"You really... Ha-ha!" Originally, she wanted to criticize him, but she erupted into laughter before saying those words.
How could she not laugh?
He was trying hard to make her happy. How could she criticize him?
If she had done so, she would have been ungrateful.
"You finally laugh." He squeezed her cheek lightly. "You should always smile. Don’t furrow your eyebrows in the future. You look most beautiful when you smile."
"I know." She flushed, took her hand out of his, and trotted forward with embarrassment.
Standing unmoved and seeing her trot forward, Julien let out a chuckle dotingly. Then he followed her.
Sophia and her assistant had been waiting for them in the lounge area.
Seeing them come back, Sofia and her assistant quickly put down the coffee and cake and stood up.
"Hello, Mr. Flint, Ms. Raines." Sophia greeted them with a smile.
Sydney responded with a smile.
Sophia asked, "Ms. Raines, Mr. Flint, what do you think of the dress? Shall I modify it?"
Sydney shook her head. "I think it is perfect. You don't have to modify it. But Julien, what’s your opinion?"
She turned to look at Julien, asking for his opinion.
After all, Julien was a jealous man.
Although this dress was not scanty, some parts of her shoulders and legs were exposed.
So, it was likely that he disliked the dress and wanted Sofia to modify it.
The reason why he praised her for being beautiful in the dress now was that the people present were all women except him.
Hence, he wouldn’t feel jealous, as there were no men seeing Sydney.
But the case would be different when they attended the banquet. There were so many men at the banquet. When she appeared with him, it was inevitable that some men would pay attention to her.
So, she was not sure whether he would become jealous then.
But unexpectedly, Julien gave the same answer as Sydney. There was no need to modify the dress.
Hearing it, Sydney looked at him in surprise.
"Why are you looking at me this way?" Seeing her expression, Julien asked while caressing her nose.
Sydney shoved his hand away. "I thought you would ask Sophia to modify the dress, especially the slit. The slit is a little long."
"I know. But the dress looks better with the slit. Why did you think I would ask Sofia to modify it?" Julien asked.
Sydney didn't hide her opinion from him and answered straightforwardly, "Because I think you'll be jealous."
Hearing her words, Julien understood her thoughts and let out a chuckle. "Yes. I won’t feel happy when other men see you in the dress, but you look beautiful when you wear it. I can't deprive you of the right to wear beautiful clothes just because I don't like other men looking at you, so you can wear the dress at ease. As for those men who stare at you, I will give them a warning."
When Julien said the last few words, his tone became noticeably colder.
Sydney got startled as his tone changed. But she burst out laughing when realizing the reason. "You would rather endure your unhappiness for me. It's really difficult for you."
"It's not difficult." Julien caressed her hair. "I did it voluntarily. Although I don't like it when you dress sexily and attract other men’s attention, I would rather you are as shining as the sun."
Sydney moved her lips, as she was so touched that she was about to say something.
But Sofia suddenly clapped her hands and exclaimed in excitement, "Wow! Your love is wonderful!"
Sydney blushed, too embarrassed to speak. After giving a cough, she instantly changed the subject. "Sofia, please help me change the dress and wrap it up."
"Okay." Sophia agreed with a smile.
Sydney looked at Julien. "I'm going to the fitting room to change the dress. Wait for me here. Put away the necklace."
She handed him the necklace.
Julien didn't decline and took it. "Okay. I'll give it to you later."
"Fine." Sydney gave a smile, turned around and walked to the fitting room with Sofia.
The moment they reached the fitting room, the assistant walked to say something to Sofia seriously.
Sydney couldn’t hear it and didn't disturb them. She just stood there, waiting for Sofia.
About two minutes later, Sophia waved the assistant away.
The assistant nodded and then swiftly turned around to leave.
Sophia took a breath, hid her serious expression and smiled at Sydney. "Ms. Raines, I'm sorry that I have to deal with something urgent now. Could you wait for me for a few minutes? Just a few minutes. I'll be back soon."
Sydney nodded understandingly. "Certainly. If you have to handle something urgent, go handle it. I'm fine."
"Thank you. You're such a kind girl." Sophia hugged Sydney, feeling moved.
Sydney was taken aback when being hugged, and then she patted Sofia.
Sophia let go of Sydney after a while because she had to address the matter. She trotted in the direction where her assistant had just gone.
Seeing Sofia leave, Sydney gave a resigned smile. Then she sat down on the soft stool in front of the fitting room, waiting for Sophia to come back.
As the back of the dress was with straps, she couldn't untie the knots on her own backward. She could only wait for Sophia to come back to help her. Otherwise, she would damage the dress if she undid it herself.
After waiting for a long time, Julien didn't see Sydney come out. He got impatient and walked toward the fitting room.
